- MMikeVIPNew York City •60 reviews4.0Dined on Jun 15, 2025We celebrated our anniversary by making a reservation well in advance for dinner here. It's a beautiful big open restaurant; we sat at a booth in front of the open kitchen. There were outdoor tables but it was very hot. The restaurant was a Ford service station from 1906 prior to becoming Current Fish and Oyster. Unisex bathrooms were around the corner from the bar. Bonny was our waitress . We started with a planet Oregon rosé from the Williamannette Valley, Oregon. Mike enjoyed Pinot Grigio from Marlborough, New Zealand to start. Since we are in Utah, we can't taste the wine, as they can not give us free wine, so we could pay $1 to taste, and it cannot be combined with our drink. We began by sharing the grilled calamari with jalapeño, grilled fingerlings, lemon and red onion. Our calamari came out very very quickly as did our wine. Our wines were delicious and the calamari sauce was very interesting. It had a nice kick. I ordered the scallop dinner and my husband Seabass. We wanted bread to soak up the sauce, but it was a heavy & detracted from the sauce, we were charged $6. My scallops with carrots, mushrooms, snow peas were in a flavorful sauce over a rice cake; it was delicious. My husband enjoyed his sea bass with beans over a corn avocado tortilla. The restaurant was very quiet there were free tables. Yet a bus boy tried to take our plates while we were eating from them. We shared the flourless, chocolate tart with Chantilly cream & cherries. Dinner was very very quick, with our three courses we were in and out less than an hour. I would have preferred a more leisurely, relaxing dinner.More infoCurrent Fish & OysterPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Downtown•4.5
- GGlenAlabama •1 review5.0Dined on Jun 7, 2025Fantastic restaurant….The staff did an outstanding job for my wife and I which has been the case for each of our visits. If you’re looking for a cozy, quiet dining experience with outstanding staff, cuisine, and wine selection, I’d highly recommend you give Veneto a try.More infoVENETOPrice: Expensive• Italian• Downtown•5
