As always, the simplicity, belief in and use of local produce at St John is heartwarming. The quality of the food and cooking couldn’t be faulted. If I were being hyper critical, the portion of cod’s roe on toast was meagre in comparison to what I was expecting; either that or it should be served on a much smaller plate! Was pleased also that the only table of ‘picture-takers’ were sat at a reasonable distance from us!

Food was very good--got the duck and it was perfect. Had a drink first in the bar which shares same great views across London. Clearly the view is the key selling point but the food is quite good as well. Only complaint is that they add VAT on top of the bill (most restaurants just embed it into their prices don't add it on after the fact and it is material at an expensive restaurant. This restaurant is not cheap and thats before they add VAT so something to consider.
