Best Restaurants for Foodies in Dumbarton

The menu is pretty small, and its not very cohesive, meaning its difficult to build courses that work well together - the small plates are bigger than expected. The fried artichoke was really good, really crunchy without being greasy adn the lemon alioli was yum! The Rockfish main dish was a generous portion and pretty tasty. Our server provided good advice, modifications and a good wine pairing! I would have liked to see another sesafood option in the mains. My husband got the oysters and thought they were a bit bland. We ordered a cocktail to start, which was quite good, but took FOREVER to be served on a night when the restaurant was not busy at all.

Due to construction traffic we were really late for our reservation and the restaurant was very understanding and adjusted our time. We ate on the sun porch and our server was fantastic, attentive but allowed us plenty of time to review menus and then have time between corses. We had the octopus and the cheese board starters and the were fantastic, great selection of cheeses but the star was the raspberry spread. The octopus was delicate and fresh, delicious. We then had two rolls and they were both very unique and delicious. Overall, I was super pleased with our lunch and was totally happy I chose this as my birthday meal.

We really appreciate the easygoing neighborhood vibe we find at this place. Great hospitality without overdoing it, as some restaurants do. We were able to carry on conversation without having to yell at each other, and even engaged in a little conversation with the couple seated next to us. My wife had the meatloaf and I had the blackened salmon; both delicious! I appreciate the plating here; the entree and sides are all on one plate, as if you're having dinner at a friend's house. We'll continue to visit often!

Mother's Day Brunch at the Westin/Small Batch Kitchen was wonderful. The Small Batch restaurant is just off the lobby of the Westin, but when checking in for our reservation we found out they had set up the Mother's Day Brunch Buffet in one of their ballrooms. There was a second podium near the ballroom and they had roses for all the ladies. The room was well set and decorated, with pink napkins and a name card at each table for our reservation. This was a full buffet and well worth the $$ for the occasion. A full breakfast buffet, along with pastries and an omelet station. Then a carving station with Smithfield ham and roast turkey. An additional buffet was set up with hot main course items like vegetables, chicken, salmon, rice, and more. One final station had several really nice dessert items as well. We appreciated the set up of all the buffet areas as they were in different areas of the room allowing for all parties to access what they wanted. There was no crowding or lines for the buffet. Overall, a wonderful atmosphere for the occasion!
