Our magical conservatory restaurant is set amid Updown’s rambling grounds. Dine under the grape vines surrounded by beautiful 17th century brick and watch the chefs in the open kitchen tending to the wood fired grill and original farm house bread oven. The restaurant has been completely transformed by owners Ruth and Oli to be heated and fully enclosed and is open year round.Menus will be small, hyper seasonal and use the best of local and European produce and change on regular basis to reflect what’s best. Everything is cooked over wood in the open kitchen. There is a short list of exciting wines of limited availability, local beers and seasonal cocktails.Monday - Friday lunch as well as Monday & Tuesday dinner we have a 3 course set menu along side our full menu at £35. On Wednesday nights along side our full menu we cook a Steak Night menu , priced at £30 per person for 3 courses. On Sunday our restaurant is only open for lunch 12 -4pm.

Our tap room is a unique collaboration with Eastry artisan brewer Time & Tide, whose award winning beers are carefully curated and complement a wonderful range of wines. Unfussy, clean & simple dishes prepared entirely from fresh local produce (cooked exceptionally well) is what you may expect.     Excellent meal at Sete. Delicious appetisers, cods roe vol au vent (yum), starters were innovative and tasty. Mains a good portion (Beef cheeks and Polenta) and again interesting choices and very good. Wine bar at the front, restaurant at the back and also a garden. Great selection of wines. Some by the carafe. There is a set menu and prices per number of courses. Extra for appetisers. The menu is small and carefully thought out to accommodate diet and taste. We really liked the small menu it gave us confidence that the meals had been carefully chosen for balance originality and choice. Well worth the visit away from Margate Old town on the Northdown Road. Go find it!

    Had a great nigh, food was really good with a nice mix of options. Drinks were a highlight, made with care and really delicious. Staff were friendly and looked after us well. Relaxed place, good atmosphere. Would definitely go back.
