The 2023 winner of the James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar, Bar Leather Apron was founded in 2015 by the duo of Justin and Tom Park. Inspired by cocktail bars in Japan, B.L.A. is an intimate cocktail bar tucked away on a mezzanine in the lobby of an office building in Downtown Honolulu. Make no mistake, although minutes from Waikiki, you will not find artificially flavored Mai Tais at this Hawai'i bar... Head Bartender and Co-Owner Justin Park's menu features his 2015 World's Best Mai Tai (which is kiawe wood smoked in a hand carved tiki box), signature Old Fashioned variations, and a healthy menu of whisky highballs, each with a different delicate flavor profile.     I love this place. The food is very refined, thoughtful, and delicious. Our waiter for the second time now, Devon, is very animated and knowledgable, I like him. We enjoy our meal very much, and I even blurted out, this is the best bread I've ever had!

    Had family in town and went for their prime time classic menu, was greeted by Ryan (manager) and his friendly staff at the door as we checked in. Our hostess escorted us to our table and let us know if too much sun was coming in she could bring the shade down, very nice observation and thoughtfulness. Our server David was very thorough as was his team. Appreciate the good friendly atmosphere and service. He made sure our order was on point and Food quality was excellent. Started with calamari ended with chocolate ice cream and so much more in between. What an amazing dining experience. Mahalo Nui Loa!

    Services was top notch. Very welcoming staff and food and drinks came out very prompt and staff always checked on us. Loco moco and the pancakes were great. The farmers omelette could use a little bit more seasoning but overall everything was great. It was a great way to spend Father’s Day
