- LLaurieVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •3 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoFood was amazing. Despite a group with incredibly loud young boys, we enjoyed our meal. The pesto halibut is one of the best fish dishes Ive had. We shared the crab cakes, side salad and halibut. Service was good and the food and view were top notch.More infoMarisol at the Cliffs Hotel and SpaPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Pismo Beach•4.8
- LLeonardoDenver / Colorado •11 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoA Surprising Summer-Forward Meal at Granada Bistro This seasonally driven kitchen, located in the heart of downtown San Luis Obispo, was perfect for a kid-free date night. The lighting and open-air vibe gave the evening a golden-hour glow, matched only by the thoughtful pacing and standout plating. While the menu reads indulgent (crispy pork, grilled prawns, rich sauces) Chef Daniel Horn’s execution is anything but heavy. His culinary perspective, shaped over nearly two decades in luxury kitchens across Utah, Turks and Caicos, Cambodia, and now California, brings a global freshness and balance to every plate. The seared tuna was bright and zippy, layered with a salsa that felt more beachside than bistro. A perfectly cooked steak with asparagus and chimichurri followed, both smoky and herbaceous, anchored by a crisp-edged potato rösti. Even the grilled shrimp toast, stacked with chorizo and caramelized onion, managed to be bold but not overbearing. A stone fruit salad with avocado and quinoa quietly stole the show, reminding us that summer in SLO deserves its own cuisine category. The wine list leans toward coastal California, and the Sandhi Chardonnay was a perfect match. Light-bodied, mineral, and with just enough acid to cut through the umami. Chef Horn and his team are clearly playing with contrast: bold ingredients, airy plating: Bistro classics, global sensibility. The result is a meal that feels effortless and elevated at once.More infoGranada BistroPrice: Expensive• Californian• San Luis Obispo•4.4
