Food was extraordinary- so delicious. Large selection of wine
I had the chicken breaded in Panko and lemon garlic oil & my husband got the lamb special we had ravioli for appetizer. Oh so good . The chef came out to greet us . Great efficient service
The owner greeted me and was kinda rude and asked me what I wanted... I said I had a reservation and he didn’t have a table for me so he wanted to put me at a table in the corner and was hot.... I left and went somewhere else....
Estevan is clearly struggling, and it shows in the owner’s strained greeting and presence in the front of the house, and in the quality of the dishes, which were formerly excellent. The thin pozole broth had a delicious meaty flavor, but the dish was almost entirely broth. The Chimayo red sauce, ordered on enchiladas, seemed thinned out. The downstairs bar is currently closed (b/c of COVID, we think), so you walk up past a dark, empty space, and you still can’t get a liquor drink upstairs. We’re holding out hope that Estevan will survive and return to its culinary glory.
We love this place. Food and service are always great. Ambience is wonderful and the location so close to the Plaza. We have eaten here many times and look forward to coming back.
Food very good. I know it’s not their fault, but there was a very loud table nearby that detracted from my dining experience. I couldn’t even hear what my husband was saying part of the time. The plants on the patio looked a little ragged for what one would expect for a top of the line restaurant
Outside, very pleasant. Great value on wines. Great service.
We made a reservation through Open Table for 4 on a Friday night. When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted by a rude waiter who said even though they had our reservation they could not accommodate us. They were overbooked or just take an unlimited amount of reservations. He made no attempt to try and accommodate us. So we were forced to leave, given it was Covid and all dining is outside in Santa Fe, all other locations were already full. We had to go home and order in. If Open Table continues to offer Estevan as a dining option, you need to do a better job in insuring they honor your reservations. I would strongly advise everyone to stay away from this establishment.
We loved this place. Went twice before leaving Santa Fe. The chef was so nice and the food was delicious.
Wonderful food and service! Our favorite restaurant in Santa Fe!
Unfortunately, after ordering $175 for two in food and having a lovely evening, we were charged $1 surcharge on a single to go item. The server told me “it’s only a dollar.” He did remove the surcharge when I asked him to check with the manager. Otherwise fantastic experience. But seriously, a surcharge for a to-go container after a fine dining meal because my daughter wanted to take an appetizer home to her partner? That definitely left a bad taste in my mouth, Even after all the great food. If not for this unfortunate faux pas, I’d have given 4-5 stars. Disappointing. Enjoy the food, but only at the restaurant.
Delicious. And the adobada ravioli!!!
What a wonderful experience to eat at this restaurant! The food was outstanding and we had some very enjoyable wine. As a special treat Chef Estevan joined us for a glass of wine. He spoke to my nephews about his experiences with food and wine.
The ribeye was great. The enchiladas with the red sauce were amazing. We also had the iberico pork, chicken paillard and wild boar. He has some wonderful locally sourced produce and vegetables as side dishes. All food was cooked to perfection. The desserts were amazing as well. The goat cheese flan and almond tart are not to be missed. I will definitely return to the restaurant!!! 5 stars plus.
We always bring visitors from out of town to this restaurant. Great ambiance.
This place is often overlooked, probably because of the hotel location, but it is no average hotel restaurant. The smaller dining room wiry fireplace has a nice ambiance and the balcony is great in the summer. Their red sauces are well balanced and always a treat.
Our table was ready early, the waiters were knowledgeable and helpful. Food was excellent and we especially enjoyed the sauce with the calamari. Would love to come back and try something else!
Small portions, not that tasty of food. Over priced.
We were there during restaurant week and got a late seating. Everything was still excellent
We were not able to eat there as they did not have our table ready when we arrived and we're not exactly sure how long we ould have to wait past our reservation
Food and device was excellent. My friends and I were there for Restaurant Week so it was crowded and busy but the wait staff was attentive and everything was delicious.
Went for restaurant week, great value for the pre fixe price. Would return
We went during restaurant week and ordered items from the special menus at a prix fixe price. I had the Chile relleno as the appetizer, rib eye steak with fingerling potatoes, veggies, and flan for dessert. The steak was thin, but still done to medium rare perfection. The wait staff was very busy; they did an excellent job taking care of us.
Food was okay, nothing to write home about . Service was atrocious. Waiter never even looked at us until he brought the check. Talked about how he also worked at the restaurant next door (with the implication that’s where he would rather be). Busboys very poorly trained on how or when to serve, bring water or just check in. It was restaurant week...chance to reel people in. They failed. I will never go back or recommend this to out of town guests.
I was on a work trip to Santa Fe and their Restaurant Week had just started where various restaurants were promoting 3-course dinners for $35 and $45 per person to include an appetizer, entree, and dessert from a pre-fixed menu of selected items.
We’d never been to Estevan before, and we were pleased, especially with the $35 price tag. We decided to get two different entrees and share them, as well as two different desserts. He ordered the ribeye steak, and I had the Chile relleno with asadero cheese. They were both very good, and then he ordered the almond cake, and I ordered the tres leches cake. Both desserts were delicious!
Wonderful meal. French food simply prepared with southwest twist.Arctic char was amazing as was lamb special. Desserts were incredible. Always a pleasure and must visit for intimate ambiance and special dining!
This is a 5 star restaurant in Sante Fe. We are fortunate to have such a high quality cuisine as Estevans. The food, service and ambiance was equal to any 5 star restaurant in Paris.
The prix fixe menu for Valentine's Day had great choices and the meal was delicious. What made it an outstanding evening was our server extraordinaire, Aram. Though now I may turn into a wino-he suggested an ice wine for me ( not an oenophile!) that was so delicious. He is congenial, knowledgeable, and funny. Definitely will want to have him as server in the future!
The ambience was great and although the building, like so many of the charming old ones in Santa Fe, was not terribly accessible (husband in wheelchair), we know to expect that.
Estevan's is a nice option for visitors in downtown Santa Fe. Food is well prepared, with some interesting choices -- especially among the appetizers. Cozy atmosphere. In summer, balcony dining is great.
The food was excellent as well as their wine list! The salsa is one of the best in Santa Fe.
Everything we had was delicious. The calamari was some of the most interesting and delicious preparations Ive had. Great wine list delicious specials and great wait staff. Highly recommend!
Estevan was a delight! The restaurant is warm and cozy, decorated with ristras, with a wood-burning fireplace blazing near our table. Our waiter was well-informed, particularly about the extensive wine list. He found us a dry Riesling from the Finger Lakes that was not on the menu and perfect with our fish selections. The special Branzino was excellent, as was the endive salad with walnut vinaigrette. The owner and executive chef stopped by to chat and service throughout was attentive. The pricing was a bit high, but portions were large enough to make the restaurant a good value.
Everything was fantastic!
Enchiladas and iberico pork chop were very good. Portions sizes were not big at all but we don’t eat much. Service and ambiance were spectacular. Would return
Wonderful meal in a fantastic location. Everything was perfect from the appetizers to the dessert.
We ordered the salad special, it was ok, small portions, and cost $16 which seemed high for offering. Rest of dinner was great.
We were seated in the hallway which was a little disappointing as the fire in the dining room looked so cosy and inviting. In our party of five, the food was good but a little pricy. Service was attentive with a hiccup or two with orders. Overall, a nice experience.
Three of four courses were excellent and creative. The first course, ceviche, was anything but the standard and lacking the flavor depth
Great!! One of our favorite restaurants in town. Always take out of town guests here as the guacamole is the best!
Very creative and delicious menu.
