So here I go, writing my first review ever, I apologize if you are used to more experienced reviewers. Being born and raised in Mexico, I try to avoid “mexican” style cuisine as much as possible when travelling abroad. I have to admit I was very pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. I took my family of 6 with me. The place is very clean and well located, parking was a minor hassle but nothing serious. The wine selection was very generous and well thought to pair with the food. The waiter was always available and pleasant and professional. The food was incredibly good, enchiladas a real delight, truly not the typical tex mex microwave stuff I’ve tasted elsewhere. Tamalitos also amazing great flavor and not dried up frozen taste, (pretty hot salsa, be warned but worth it). The desserts are worth saving space at the end of the meal. The flan was excellent as well as the tres leches cake I tasted. But the more amazing part was the time we spent talking with Estevan ... he was incredibly patient with our preteen boy who was quite honestly on his least memorable behavior. I recommend Estevan’s restaurant without any hesitation and will definitely try to come back on a future vacation to this marvelous city... Bravo Estevan and thank you for a wonderful meal and evening out with my family!
Definitely the most delicious lamb in town!!! Local and flavourful!
Lovely birthday dinner here. Started outside on the beautiful patio and stayed until the rain came.
Loved the cabbage salad and the enchiladas. The desserts were terrific, too -- especially the flan and chocolate lava cake.
Excellent and attentive service.
Dinner at Estevan was pleasant surprise. The stuffed chile and enchilladas were excellent. The goat milk flan is the best that I've had anywhere in the US. Estevan is a restaurant that I would gladly return to for any time of day.
I had out of town guests and I wanted them to experience some of the best Santa Fe had to offer. Estevan is in that category. I love the cozy feel of the restaurant and the beautiful plant-filled patio - both great places to eat. The food and the wine (we had the special - a smooth and refreshing french chardonnay at a reasonable price) exceeded expectations from the appetizers to the main courses. The lamb chops were cooked and seasoned with skill and creativity. Thumbs up to the ravioli appetizer as well. Even the small plate of salsa and restaurant - made chips served with drinks impressed my guests. Amar, our waiter, was terrific. He was knowledgeable and helpful and seemed to genuinely enjoy the place. This is one of my go-to places and it hasn't disappointed.
Excellent food service and location love the local products from Santa Fe farmers market and chef welcome customers. Nice touch
Always great, all things ever ordered. Chef delightful too.
Good food with tasty creative and original menu items
We were in Santa Fe with friends for the day while on vacation. We decided on Estevan’s based on reviews on Open Table. I had never eaten there before.
I knew we were in the right place when we arrived by looking at the menu and the high quality wine list. We ordered their specials of the day on the recommendation of our awesome waiter Adam, rib eye steak and a delicious branzino.
Entrees were spot on and cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back. Leave the big name, old stand by restaurants and venture into Estevan’s for a great meal and a quality, well thought out, and reasonably priced wine list.
Ask for Adam.
Really love the ever evolving wine selection and list of small boutique vintners that are so unusual to find.
If you want some of the best french fries they have them with a side of red chili super yum!!
Beautiful room! No alcohol besides beer and wine available, which was a disappointment for a margarita lover. Food is well prepared and tasty but menu isn’t very exciting. Needs a bit more of a creative touch.
Nice, small, trattoria. The Branzino was done perfectly. Nice wine list.
Just okay. Not bad but not great. Many better options available in the area.
Welcoming & relaxed dining starts with housemade chips & salsa - I highly recommend the amazing carne adovada ravioli - unique & delicious.
This restaurant offers Santa Fe New Mexican cuisine with a sophisticated style of cooking.
Always craving the red chili cheese enchilada, so delicious!!
Love this local gem. Quiet atmosphere adds to the enjoyment as well as table visits from Estevan
Always craving the chocolate almond torte with creme anglaise! So delicious!
We went out for dinner with our family and the other attorney in our firm and his wife. Walking in we met Estevan and were welcomed warmly. What a fun meal. The food was all amazing as well. Especially the goat cheese flan. Wow. Will definitely come back next time we are in Santa Fe.
Outstanding food -best traditional southwest cuisine from brilliant Chef Estevan as always !
The service was fantastic, our waiter was on point throughout the whole meal. The food was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious. The chef was a little too keyed up to be considered polite.
Tried some new wines from Oregon that were outstanding!
We had an uncomfortable experience here. To make a long story short, we were told there were no seats on the patio available. I looked, there were lots. We asked to move and we were accommodated. However, this was followed by watching the chef have a heated discussion about the seating on the patio. I don't know if he was upset about us being moved out there or not but he was clearly unhappy about a seating situation on the patio. It was awkward, inappropriate and uncomfortable. I have a more detailed review on yelp. In the end, the food was just ok for the price. The experience was bizarre. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Lovely dinner, very great chef on premises!! I very much recommend dining here, menu choices were amazing and our selections were well prepared using authentic sauces and the wine list was excellent.
Had a wonderful chardonnay from Walla Walla! So unique!
We were vacationing in Santa Fe and had dinner at Estevan. Everything was great - delicious food, very professional service, and nice ambience. We highly recommend it!
This restaurant is one of Santa Fe's best dining experiences. Estevan is an excellent chef and his unique cuisine is always special and delicious. He's also an expert in choosing wines with your meal. We recently took three friends, who are foodies, from out of town to this restaurant and they were all raving about their experience. Enjoy!
Love some of the new red wines Estevan has on his list!!
Wonderful restaurant! Amazing lamb incredible flavor and fabulous sauces!
The food was excellent! I had the Lemon Chicken It was tender and nicely seasoned. My husband had the Lamb that melted in your mouth and did not need a knife. The best part of the meal was Laetitie! She was one of the best wait staff we have had in Santa Fe. She was very professional, helpful and knowledgeable about the food. Laetitie checked on us frequently. I appreciated that she had a sense of humor as my husband and her had a "banter" going on. Enjoyable !
Under staffed and over booked. After waiting an hour and 15 minutes for our meal, we walked out. The wait staff was doing their best to manage the situation and gave us a free glass of wine. And the few plates that made it out of the kitchen smelled great. But in the end we were just too tired to wait any longer. Hopefully this was just an off night.
Love the tres leches cake! Light and heavenly the perfect desert!!!
The local lamb is exceptional, wonderful flavor and a real treat!
Really outstanding. A sweet, intimate restaurant with the best food in Santa Fe. The chef met us and helped us order. Food presentation was as good as the flavor. Highly recommend.
Superb! the enchilada with red chilli is amazing!!! Incredible flavor! Like nowhere else in the world!
I went to Stevan because it features sustainable organic food, unfortunately it was a bad day for the restaurant with their stuff. The lady that I had as a waitress was really cold and not very helpful. She did not even bother telling me the special of the day.
I will give it a second chance if I have the nice waiter I finally got tours the middle of my sad dinner. The grass fed burger was delicious, but I would have preferred the Artic char if I would have known the specials of the day 😢
Our servers were all exceptionally pleasant. The food was homey and pleasant. I felt like I was eating at someone's house.
Always such a satisfying experience! I just love the green chili cheese burger with amazing Spanish wine, not to be missed!
Saturday night and restaurant was fairly empty. Sat in a little alcove room with some pretty dead geraniums. My husband had a cabbage salad which was warm and kind of strange. I ordered the special salad for the day-lettuce leaves heirloom tomatoes and cucumber. 6 baby romaine leaves, 3 cucumber slices and 3 wedges of regular red tomato arranged on a huge plate. Bolognese was sweet and not pleasant. Cheese in poblano chili was dense and the sauce tasted like a light tomato sauce. So sad.
Love the tamales!!!
The red chilli is so amazing!!!
