Estevan Restauranté is a fine dining establishment based around a relaxed New Mexican atmosphere. All of our produce is sourced daily from the Santa Fe Farmer’s Market with any poultry, meat, or fish brought in from free roaming, grass fed, or wild caught farms. Our menu, tailored made by Executive Chef Estevan Garcia, is traditional Northern New Mexican cuisine tastefully altered with a French twist, honoring tradition while embracing innovation.

Food was very good and service was extraordinary.
Despite an indoor mask mandate and a high covid case rate in the state, not a single staff member had a mask on. Know before you go.
This intimate, upstairs restaurant is well appointed and very inviting. The food selections were varied and the whitefish entree was excellent. Service was friendly and efficient and prices were fair. We will go back soon and we highly recommend this restaurant.
We had Thanksgiving dinner and it was excellent. The plates are beautifully prepared and the wait staff was wonderful
We were at Estevan for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a good prix fixe menu, everything that we had was well prepared with very fresh ingredients. The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere attractive and festive. Made the holiday for us.
Fantastic service. Friendly staff and wonderful food in a beautifully decorated restaurant room. We had the time of our lives.
Best Thanksgiving dinner! We had plans to go out of town for thanksgiving but I became ill. So ordered the dinner to go as we couldn’t make it to restaurant. I cannot tell you how wonderful it was in every detail. And portions were extremely generous. Thank you Estevan for making our Thanksgiving meal wonderful.
Great restaurant with unique takes on Mexican favorites. Pleasant experience with wonderful ambiance.
Lovely atmosphere, warm and knowledgeable waiter. Bummer that they do t have margaritas (waiting for liquor license.). And portions very small.
Food was excellent and we really enjoyed the ambiance
We had an excellent dinner at Estevan last evening. My husband had a salad and the lamb. I had the tomato salad, ravioli (made vegetarian to accommodate my dietary needs), and the chocolate lava cake. The food was amazing and our server was wonderful, as well. It’s a small space with fireplace, bar, and a handful of tables. Felt intimate and warm.
Terrific as always — thoughtful, informed service, interesting
and appealing menu, a lovely evening shared with good
friends in one of the most welcoming rooms in town.
Amazing. Our first time there. Wonderful ambiance and the food, under Chef’s watchful eyes was amazing New Mexican cuisine. We are going back soon
We have followed Estevan along his restaurant adventure. This was our third time dining at Estevans in 3 years. The service was attentive, but the food was disappointing. Two of us ordered the char. The vegetables were undercooked and the orzo was flavorless. The char was just ok. The boar was over cooked.
Visiting from out of town, the experience at Estevan was wonderful. Food was terrific and the service provided by the waitstaff was impeccable. The lamb sirloin special was excellent, spicy enough to be flavorful but not overpowering. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a good dining location in Santa Fe.
I was glad to see that Estevan is back in Santa Fe. He had a restaurant a few blocks west of the plaza years ago that had excellent food, reasonable prices for Santa Fe, and a decor that blended European and Southwestern atmosphere. The current restaurant is somewhat similar in style with dishes in a broad range of prices and a well-chosen wine list that offers many wines by the glass as well as by the bottle. We sat indoors but in a small section that has only three tables, so it was pleasantly quiet and service was excellent. It was interesting to note that each of the three tables had its own waiter. The new location, just off the plaza, is more convenient than the former one. Estevan's return is a nice plus for a city that has never been short of good restaurants.
We started the evening with a glass of Cabernet and the Adobada ravioli. Listeraly after we had one bite, we instantly wished this was a main course. You could eat these ravioli for days…
We both enjoyed our main courses but the names escape me. Regardless you will be glad you went.
Everything was amazing! The food, the fireplace, the service. Highly recommend.
We made a last-minute reservation which was surprising considering how popular this restaurant is. We have met Chef Estevan before and he is always been gracious and inviting when we come to the restaurant. It’s one of the things that sets this restaurant apart – the chef is there all the time, keeping an eye on the wait staff, the kitchen and mingling with the customers to make sure they provide top-notch and high-quality service. Santa Fe is a very competitive market for restaurants, so for anyone to be successful they must be a cut above. This is one of those restaurants. It’s a must stop for us every time we’re in Santa Fe.
I would say it is more $$$ than $$. Everything was wonderful. Looking forward to returning!
wow...what a less than fun experience. no wonder they are promoting their restaurant. so this place supposedly had 4+ stars (but we all know how over rated these open table reviews can be) but it barely deserves one. first, it's 2021 and they have literally ONE option for gluten free. Their chile sauce is all made with flour/gluten which of course is fine but they have not worked to provide gluten free chile sauce (or at a minimum salsa or some/any kind of sauce for ALL of their dishes). so if you order pretty much any entry here in SF which is known for its chile sauces you get the item w/o any flavoring. sounds boring right? yep, it is. and then on top of it they try to act like it's your problem. how a restaurant survives with this kind of allergy approach when allergies are rampant is a mystery. again, no wonder they have to resort to promoting themselves on opentable. lesson learned...never go to a promoted restaurant. or one that isn't with the times offering gluten free options that are creative and taste like something. last thing, maybe it's all the religious imagery on the walls that has them so rigid and stuck in the past. good luck estevan, you'll need it.
Estevan is above a local bar called the Low Rider. It is a welcoming, white table cloth dining room with a pleasing fall fire going. We tried three appetizers, a chile relleno in sauce, a stuffed sopapilla and a small offering of guacamole. In our pinion, the chile relleno was the winner here, but all were tasty.
Entrees were enchiladas with chicken, lamb rib chops, Iberico pork loin and stuffed quail. Again, all were tasty.
Desserts shared were a goat cheese flan and tres leches cake. Excellent!
The service was unobtrusive but attentive. Chef Garcia's wine recommendations were spot on. He hopes to have his liquor license by the first of the year.
Lovely patio for summertime dining.
Not a place to go to with children, even if they don’t make a sound and are completely polite. You will be sat in the back. Also if you don’t dress to the owner/chefs liking he will tell the hostess to sit you in the back. As soon as we walked in the owner gave us a look and immediately the hostess said they don’t like crying babies.
I ordered the wild boar and it wasn’t cooked like I requested, the potatoes were almost raw. Honestly not worth the price. The pizza place downstairs would have been a much better choice.
Estevan is a gem in the heart of Santa Fe. I was looking for excellent food (foodie is my middle name), a romantic ambiance, professional service and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I got all of the above. Kudos for maintaining soul at a very challenging time for restaurants and for offering quality above anything else. I would highly recommend this restaurant
Estevan was a Nice surprise after visiting Santa Fe for 10 years.
It was a quaint small restaurant with a beautiful bar, beautifully lit with red ristras end to end. Our server was very pleasant and accommodating. The food had such great flavors and presentation was wonderful. We’ll be back!
Nice place off the beaten path. Great food. Need a liquor license!
Birthday dinner was good. Kinda expensive but overall good dinner.
Worse meal I have ever had in Santa Fe. Also, pretty bad service. Table was in a hallway and the waiter only checked back with us once before we could taste our food. Had the trout and it was full of bones and had no taste- just fried! Coffee cold and no waiter could be found for quite a while to ask for it to be heated. When finally heated. It had no taste whatsoever! I will never go back! And, it wasn’t cheap! Total disappointment.
Complaining about coffee? Please never come back.
Husband’s order screwed up x 2- waiter tried to make it right. My stew was really a weak soup/ minimal protein and watery. Restaurant did not live up to expectations
We had a great time at Estevan. The food was delicious, we had Arctic Char (special) and Pasta Bolognese. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, quiet enough to hear your dining partner(s), and warm and inviting. The service was excellent.
We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food has become. Delicious sauces and perfectly cooked. What is keeping it from 5 stars, is as the prices are up, the size of the proportions were a little small.
The food was outstanding ,we each had the specials .I have had their lamb before and it last night was great. My husband had an argula salad which he loved and he also had goats milk flan ,which he said was one of the best
Great food and service. We really enjoyed dining there. It was a little tricky to find (upstairs through hotel).
Fantastic atmosphere, food, and staff! Will definitely return the next time we are in Santa Fe
Excellent food and excellent service - wonderful evening on a cold Santa Fe night seated next to a delightful fire in the main dining room.
Dinner at Estevan was the highlight of our 4-day trip in Santa Fe. Chef Estevan visited with the four of us and made recommendations for our salad (Caesar salad made with romaine he picked that morning at Farmers' Market), entree': medallions of lamb sirloin, and a wine pairing: 2015 Belle Pente Vineyard Cabernet. All were delicious with excellent presentation and even better taste! We enjoyed dessert: a slice of almond cake, molten chocolate cakes, and cheese cake slice, along with a tasting of Lustau East India Solera Sherry. It was a delightful, delicious evening. We will definitely dine at Estevan on our next trip to Santa Fe.
Food was competent but this is definitely not at the gourmet level. Ambiance was warm but lacked elegance.
The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for and the food was very good although I thought the price a little high. I was very surprised that none of the staff were wearing masks since there is an indoor mask mandate and for some diners, that can be a deal breaker.
Everything at Estevan‘s was a knock out of the park! We started with the Carne Adobada Ravioli and the Red Cabbage Salad. Both were incredibly unique and wonderfully delicious — I would strongly recommend ordering these dishes. We then ordered the Shepherds Lamb Stew and the special entree, the Arctic Char. The lamb stew was perfect for a chilly evening served with local lamb and a hearty broth and the char was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of sauce. Fresh farmers market vegetables, too! Our server was Daniel and he was very professional, explained the specials meticulously, and did not spill a single drop of the Stoller Reserve Pinot Noir we had ordered — which I would also highly recommend. We were tucked away in a private alcove which was romantic and cozy. All in all we would highly recommend Estevans and I cannot wait to return!
