Had a wonderful anniversary dinner. Everything was so delicious, and we had a great time. The staff so all very nice and helpful. Will definitely go back again and recommend to anyone looking for a good place to go eat.
Waiter was amazing
Our waiter took the time to explain the menu and made suggestions based on personal taste. Everyone was polite and friendly and everything was absolutely delicious.
Excellent food and atmosphere!!
Service was amazing! Food was delicious!
Special experience. The wait staff are wonderful. Thanks for an amazing time.
This is a review for a Valentine’s Day dinner.
We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation. No hostess, no greeting. Wait around a few more minutes and finally a gentleman comes and seats us at a table.
The ambiance was lacking coming in. No candlelights, just some cutout red hearts taped on the walls. I would’ve expected a little more effort for a special night like this. The room was also freezing. It was -5 degrees outside but it doesn’t mean it had to be inside!
Our waiter was fine. Not enthusiastic or warm at all.
We decided on a grilled artichoke for an appetizer and some cocktails. Cocktails were good and so was the artichoke! That was pretty much the highlight of the night.
For dinner, we decided on the special Porterhouse for two and a side of cauliflower.
Steak ordered was a medium and it came out pretty much raw. My fiancé was hungry so he ate half of it but I honestly couldn’t even cut it with my steak knife it was so raw. Wasn’t worth the hefty $90 price tag - stick with the NY strip instead!
Cauliflower was smaller than what we’ve been served at the Cherry Creek location and wasn’t as tasty.
We also got the white chocolate berry tarte off the Valentine’s Day menu. It was good, nothing special. Like a premade desert just plopped on a plate.
Overall, it was quite the disappointing dinner especially since we were looking forward for a special night. Lacked effort from everything from ambiance, food, and service.
If you are looking to visit Elway’s stick to the Cherry Creek location! We won’t be coming back to Elway’s Downtown.
It was Valentines day weekend and the restaurant was packed and didn't have enough staff to take care of everyone. It was freezing cold in there too. It took forever to get drinks which we would have drank more but the service was so horrible. Food was good.
The heat was out and apparently they couldn't afford to go buy space heaters??? We drove over 50 miles to celebrate at Elways. No discount was offered or even a heads up from the restaurant ahead of time. $129 for lunch! Extremely poor management for a high end restaurant. NEVER AGAIN!!!
Amazing service and food was delicious. I would definitely go again
Great first time experience at Elway’s Downtown
Got a reservation for 8. Was finally seated at 8:35
First time eating Elway's and I really enjoyed it. The food and service was great. I ordered a 8oz filet which was cooked to perfection. (Blue Rare) sided with a baked potato and mushrooms. We also split a wedge salad and the lamb chop fondue which was incredible. Could had easily been a perfect meal itself.
Only disparaging comment was the fact it's Covid season and we pulled the unlucky straw and got seated in the corner of a banquet room with terrible ambiance. I left feeling like I just ate my meal in an empty conference room.
We love Elway’s (Ritz Carlton). A few things have changed as we used to go often. One, bread is by request only and 2, they have a limited menu now. Our server Scott is amazing and so personable, we’ve had him before in the past. Our salads did get forgotten, but Scott went out of his way to make it up to us! We will certainly go back again!
Meat sucked. Ribeye was all fat and the most disgusting cut ever. Did room service the next day and the skirt steak was terrible and almost unedible. Perhaps they are trying to save on meat costs to make up for the slow business, but this is just bad for business
Had an amazing experience with my wife for our 19th anniversary. The food, wine and service was simply outstanding! Highly recommend.
Amazing dinner excellent service great food love the restaurant
The lamb fondue is my new favorite meal! ITS SO SO GOOD!
Above and beyond on everything. Truly kind and generous people. Delicious food, excellent wine. They made everything special.
The host checking us in was very friendly and wished my daughter a happy birthday - the reason we were there celebrating. Our server Leslee was amazing and provided the birthday girl with a complementary dessert - chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. To end our experience, we were gifted with the ELWAY seasoning from Scott. Definitely would recommend.
Service & food were amazing. Scott went above and beyond to create a great experience for my husband's birthday. It was the best steak and shrimp cocktail we had ever had!
Covid has impacted service.
First time ever eating at a nice restaurant in the Denver area and it was well worth it. Every dish we ordered was truly incredible. We ordered the lamb chop fondue, bone-in rib eye, two lobster tails, side of mushrooms, ding dong, warm cookie and ice cream! Take my word for it that you will love every dish they serve.
Besides the incredible food was the incredible staff. They were very polite, timely, and full of great recommendations. If you’re in the Denver area, you have to check this place out. You will NOT be disappointed.
I've been to a lot of steakhouses and this one is excellent. My review is going to be mainly on the food. The restaurant itself was cool but nothing spectacular. I've been in nicer restaurants but this is at the Ritz, so... anyway, I ordered the 16oz ribeye, medium (I like medium rare, but I know steakhouses so I go one up on how I eat steak.) This zteak came put perfectly med rare! Bingo, I can't say enough about the steak. It was juicy, but not overly juicy. Still enough to dip your steak into. The seasoning was amazing and I'm super happy they gave us a can of the way out. Top 3 steaks I've ever had, 1 of which being my own cooked steak. Prices were average for an upscale steakhouse. Well worth it. Fantastic steak and I hoped for nothing less at a steakhouse. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Denver!
The food is over priced. They didn’t serve any bread. It was a special birthday and even though I requested a birthday dessert, done was ever served. The birthday celebration was never mentioned. The wine is extremely overpriced. I would not go back!
excellent service from all staff. did not disappoint!
The service was superb and the food was so well portioned and prepared, we will be back again.
Fantastic experience especially given the crazy COVID world
We celebrated my daughters 21st birthday. Leslie our waitress was amazing! She made her feel very special. Also Monica was extremely helpful with the champagne for myself 🙃. Can’t wait for the 2009 Dom perignon soon. Also Josephine was very sweet. She was able to make us feel at ease and she took some amazing photos of my daughter and I. Thanks so much !!!
Elway's is always my wife's preferred location for our anniversary - we stay at the Four Seasons and enjoy a long dinner. You can't go wrong but bring your wallet.
We had a great time celebrating our 28th anniversary! Food was great and our server was excellent!
First of all let me say thank you. Me and my wife spent our 22nd anniversary week in Denver. Had I known the Outstanding service I received I would’ve chose them first. We dined in two other establishments after dining here. Expecting the same level of service being a fine dining establishment. They went out of their way to making our night feel special while we celebrated the evening. Everything was exceptional. The manager even came by our table to make sure everything was going smoothly. The night ended with a delicious warm butter cake that I had to come home and find the recipe for. Next time I visit Denver this will be the only establishment I choose for fine dining.
We were greeted at the door and seated right away. Server was very nice and respectful, however it was not a busy restaurant and quite a few items were forgotten and at a restaurant where we paid $234 for dinner for 2 people should be expected - we we had to ask for silverware after the salad course was served, and again after the steak course was served. I asked for a medium rare steak, was served medium well. I ordered coffee after dinner and was served a see through luke warm brown liquid, didn’t taste like coffee either. The coffee is the only thing I brought up to the server, she was very nice about it and removed it off the bill.
If you want a high quality dining experience at a high end restaurant go yo Guard and Grace. Elways has lost its touch, this used to be a wonderful restaurant.
We understand that these are trying times and chose to ignore the service quality and tipped 20% to respect the server.
If you want a very nice steak dinner in a restaurant that takes care of the small details of elegant dining, this is the place.
Very memorable dining experience for our last night in Denver.
We were in Denver for my wife's birthday and this was an excellent experience.
Food and service are always good at Elways. The kitchen seemed to have issues that night with my steak's requested doneness and also getting us bread and the fabulous pretzel rolls.
Decaffeinated coffee with dessert was served at room temperature, waiter looked frazzled so I let it go.
