Enjoyed the experience at Elways! The food and service were top notch! The ambience was warm and matched the high level of service and presentation of food. Would return again!
Good but not great. The John's salad was not even close to the one served the Cherry Creek Elway's and was actually not good at all. Overall the food was good, but not excellent.
Not the best experience. Despite having a reservation, we were seated nearly 30 minutes late. I appreciated the manager providing a round of drinks to compensate, but we then had to wait nearly an hour for our entrees to arrive, even with the restaurant appearing to be nowhere close to full. I ordered a steak medium-rare, and it arrived at what could only be described as just north of blue rare. At that point, I was so hungry I chose to dive in just to have some food.
Our server was fantastic throughout the whole evening and truly tried to make the experience special. I wish the food and speed of service would have been at the same level.
I am not usually one that complains but the food was the worst that I've experienced. I ordered a bone-in filet medium-rare and it came out burned then they had to get me a bone in ribeye because it was the last filiet. The ribeye came out rare with the center bloody and cold. It was horriable.
My wife wanted to order Elways salmon and you were sold out. The table next to us had to rerurn both steaks as well. We also ordered brussel sprouts and they were less than desirable.
We went to Elways for our 20th annversary and it was a complete let down and a waste of our night.
The server did his best considering the lack of professionalism from the cooks and management.
Came here on Saturday evening to celebrate Valentines day with my wife as I've always heard great things about Elways. Unfortunately for us it did not meet any expectations I had come to expect when spending $200 on dinner. We waited an hour for our main course which half way though the wait it became apparent why our waiter was pushing appetizers on us so much.. we just didnt come hungry enough. My steak was great, my wife's was way undercooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen, both of our sides (scalloped potatoes and brussel sprouts) were just average and seemed like they were just waiting for our steaks to get there and be served at once. Two other tables surrounding us had issues with their food as they also had to send dishes back. 2/5 stars is what I'm giving Elways Downtown which is bad considering I never leave reviews.
When dining at a steakhouse that I'm spending $200 plus on dinner for 2, I expect much better than I got. The food was great. The steaks were cooked perfectly, no complaints there. However, I waited until 9:10PM to get sat for an 8:30PM resvervation. The host originally told me to wait for about 5 minutes in the lounge area while they prepared my table. I had to go back over a half our later to ask what was going on. They finally took us to a table in the corner; there must have been at least 6 other tables open around us that never got seated the entire time we were there, and the restaurant was closing within less than an hour of the time we left, so I know they weren't reserved. I immediately noticed all of the ledges around us were covered in crumbs and dust, looked like they hadn't been cleaned in over a week, the carpet was ripped near the table, there were larges scratches and scuff marks along all the walls, and duct tape holding a door closed to a private dining area. I ordered a cocktail off the menu, and the server came back 5 minutes later and apologized but they didn't have that cocktail anymore. He laughed about it, saying that I got an out of date drink list and the new one had been in place for some time and he didn't even know about it. Far better steakhouses throughout Denver to spend your time at.
So this trip was up and down the meal was just ok I had the Wagu slider, fried rice both were over cooked and came out super slow. The bread and my drinks were great. My waiter worked his butt off and comp in dessert because the wait for the food was over an hour. Will come back but definitely expect better
Great food, great service I will definitely be back
Bartender Josh was amazing with his drinks and service!
Always wonderful experience at Elways downtown!!!
Rose petals on the table for Valentines dinner. Great wine selection paired perfectly with our steak. Preserved the bone-in 16 oz filet. Best steak flavor in a long time. Thank you for making this dinner special!
We always enjoy dining at Elway’s. It is one of our favorite restaurants for special occasions. We went for lunch and had prime rib sandwiches and a steak. Everything was prepared perfectly and the service was excellent. I highly recommend Elway’s to anyone who appreciates fine dining.
Server did an exceptional job! Other staff as well.
Always excellent. This Elways is always an excellent dining experience
Food, service and setting was amazing as always!! Our favorite place to eat!!
Elways is by far the best restaurant in Denver. The food, service and wine are beyond amazing! Scott gave me and my husband the most incredible dining experience; such a skilled and talented waiter! Monica is the most talented and knowledgeable Sommelier I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, and made our dinner even more outstanding with an exceptional wine parring. This was easily one of the best meals of my life!! Thank you Elways!!
Was clear that our server believed that we were second class guests and treated us as such. My wife and I observed the way that she treated other guests compared to how we were treated and the difference was amazing. We have been to Elways multiple times before and have never been treated so poorly.
Our server, Lee, was outstanding. Great recommendations on food and drink. An amazing meal and experience.
Celebrating a 70th wedding anniversary. The staff went above and beyond to make it a special might. The food and service was excellent. We couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate. Highly recommend. The steaks and lamb were prepared to perfection.
Had a fabulous lunch, thank you!
Food was amazing. Service was outstanding. Will definitely be going here again in the future.
Excellent steak. I had the bone in strip, my son had the bone in ribeye. Both were perfectly prepared. Loved the char on the outside of the steak while maintaining a medium rare center. Excellent service. The sides were not as impressive. Brussels sprouts were just OK, parm truffle fries also just Ok.
Elway's Downtown was extremely nice and convenient for me and my overseas guests, the location in the Ritz Carlton add on to the luxury and best service, from Valet Parking, Bar Service, Table service, Wine Selection and Desert....
one thing about the great bar and its environment including the helpful bartenders and the Scotch varieties impressed my guests and me, I would totally come back and enjoy this restaurant and what it has to offer. our waiter was awesome, attention to details was his strength.
I asked for a quiet place for a meeting and they did just that - the food was great and the service was excellent!
Too expensive for the food they served. Asked for medium steak and received raw meat. Servers were exceptional.
Our waiter was too aggressive, in for the kill and not for the understandings of the customer (Me). I asked him to slow it down and not to continue the pressure on taking our orders....forget to bring my guest his cocktail...food was ok and the overall service needs improvement. $300 dinner for two, I guess John Elway needs some cash since his business is off.
We have eaten here every year for the last 5 years. This meal took 2 hours. Service was poor and this visit was not the usual service expected from Elways. Sad ☹️
Great food, service, location. The Colorado lamb is excellent. A steakhouse in the heart of Denver that delivers.
Outstanding. The best. All around the place to be
Food was delicious and the service was to notch. We asked for a dessert that was not on the menu and the waitress was able to deliver it. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The service was excellent. The steak was amazing! We had a great time and will be returning.
I ordered the 14oz prime rib indicating that as a gluten-free diner I would cut off the outer edges of seasoning. My less than 1” thick piece of meat came out black and seared; looked more like a small, skinny steak than succulent prime rib. A fire alarm went off with strobe lights at the beginning of our meal and lasted a good 15-20 minutes. We were told to remain seated, that it was a common occurrence. No compensation was offered for our inconvenience.
It was our first time to Elway's and it was our anniversary. The service was amazing from beginning to end. We will be back again for another special occasion in the near future.
Great time celebrating husbands Bday, will definitely recommend to any family or friends traveling to the area.
This was my third dining experience at Elway's. We will be back!
Most amazing food EVER!!!! We had appetizers, main course and dessert and all of it was phenomenal!!!
The service was superior! What an wonderful dining experience!!!
Really great experience highly recommend steaks on point
I had the Tenderloin & Salad, and it was delicious! Great spot for a business lunch.
After we got our food the servers did not return and ignored us for around 30 minutes, and our steaks were over seasoned making them extremely salty. The wine was good at least.
