The atmosphere was very old
School complete with a jazz trio playing . The food was wonderful . The variety would please almost any guest . The service was very good .
We Always enjoy going to brunch at the brown palace. One of the best brunch places in Denver. The food is always great and so is the staff. We have gotten to know some of the wait staff and they are always amazing. Special mention to Ed and Eric who always take good care of us
Amazing service and food.
Elegant set up and the food was delicious. We opted for the Sunday buffet early in the morning, and the selection was perfect--a nice mix of pastries, fruits, and savory dishes like eggs and potatoes.
We were so disappointed! Last year we went to brunch and the food was better quality. They had lobster and crab legs. This year, the food was like a cheap buffet. We spent $150 to be dissatisfied and have a stomach ache after. We won't be back.
Great food and nice live music while dining. We had the champagne brunch and my glass was never empty. The service was outstanding. Quite possibly the best brunch I've ever experienced.
Best brunch ever! Never disappointed
I feel that the champagne should be included in the price even if they only offer the Domaine champagne. The price for brunch is already above average so the champagne should really be included in the price. I was expecting more food options especially in the salad area, like specialty salads such as potato salad, macaroni salad or something more decadent rather than just mixed greens and dressings. I was disappointed in that area, however, the dessert section was immaculate! A lot of variety and different flavors! Superb!
I think the only thing to note, is we had to request more orange juice. Other than that everything was outstanding! I appreciate the gentleman who was restocking the line and overheard me wanting more of a certain dish. He brought them out to my table when they were ready! That's amazing customer service!
Service was outstanding and I thought the champagne brunch was very reasonably priced for what you get. We loved it!
I've been to Ellyngton's many times and this was the first time the service was inadequate. The food was a crab omelette with hollandaise sauce. There was no crab and very, very little hollandaise sauce. We had to get the maître d to get coffee and to get the order right. Our waitress disappeared. Very disappointing.
Jerome is a great host.
Service was excellent.
My family has a tradition of having tea at the Brown Palace around the holidays. This year we switched it up and did brunch at Ellyngton's instead. It was really wonderful. The service was just as friendly and lovely as the folks in the tea service. The food was amazing and overwhelming, in the best ways. Favorites in our group were the seafood options, and the pancake station.
This is like a Vegas-level buffet right in the middle of downtown Denver!
After sitting w friends for 2 hours, we were basically booted from our table.
The hostess came to our table & told us that someone else was waiting for our table! SO so disappointing!
There were open tables all around us....
Again SO disappointing!
Your brunch is lovely in every way but that may keep us from returning!!!
Food was overpriced for what we got. Caesar salad left much to be desired which was disappointing considering it was in the Brown Palace.
My husband and I had our New Year’s brunch at Ellyngton’s. It was absolutely magical, delicious and just beautiful. Best and most well done buffet! The service was outstanding! Everyone was so polite and warm. The band was also great and added a really special touch.
Ellyngton’s is a magical place! Our meals were beyond delicious and our server Keith, was outstanding! This was my Mother’s and I belated Christmas brunch.
I’m a third generation native to Colorado and The Brown palace has been a very special place for my family ever since I was a little girl. My paternal grandparents had their wedding reception there in 1940. My husband and I spent our wedding night at the Brown, as well as our first wedding anniversary. My Father who passed 4 years ago, was a financial advisor who had countless breakfasts and brunch meetings at Ellyngton’s over his career, so we feel his presence every time we visit the Brown since his passing.
Thank you for always providing above and beyond service, meals and just a magical experience every time we visit the Brown Palace!!
First time there and I cannot wait to go back!!!! The food was outstanding and the service was amazing!
Ellyngton’s and The Brown Palace is beautiful especially around the holidays. The decor is spot on with excellent service. However the New Years brunch was not for me. I found the food to be alright, the sushi and seafood were mediocre. However the desserts were delicious. Considering the cost I don’t think it was worth it or I will be back for brunch.
Almost as a tradition, we come to brunch at Ellyngton's on new year day. We enjoy the quality of the food and many vegetarian options as well as great sea food. The wait staff is excellent and the environment is very nice. We also enjoy that they have nice live jazz music playing. It's not the least expensive brunch in town but it certainly is the very best. This year they had an excellent salmon Alfredo pasta dish that was to die for. The valet parking is super convenient and free.
Lovely New Year's Day brunch. Great selection. We all enjoyed ourselves.
The champagne brunch is a great experience. Love having the piano player playing during brunch. They’ve made some changes to the food since the last time I went, not all for the better. They took away a lot of the smoked fish which I felt was one of the best parts of the brunch. They should work on improving the quality of the desserts and making them smaller sizes. The bananas Foster was fabulous!
Great experience! The brunch food and service were excellent.
We came for an anniversary brunch. The best brunch I have ever been to. Better than the Ritz Carlton in Maui’s brunch. The food was great and fresh! I loved the selection and the service.
It was our first time staying at the Brown Palace and our first time going to Ellyngton’s. We went for the champagne brunch. It was a lovely experience.
Have gone to Ellyngton's multiple times for the champagne brunch, it's always good. Went this time for regular breakfast on a Saturday. Absolutely the worst service I have ever received from a restaurant. Observed multiple people getting up and leaving because their server didn't even come up to their table, or never came to get their order. Our server never apologized for the obvious delays - over 15 minutes to be greeted, another 10 or so for coffee, waiting for our food about 30+ minutes with no check in or update from the server, etc. The napkins were actually damp, so damp you could feel them through your pants when you put the napkin on your knee. Had to ask three times for dry napkins. Never got a refill on orange juice I had. The service was so bad it literally ruined everyone's mood. So, $200 breakfast with the worst service and top it all off with having to pay parking!!
Just horrible, horrible, horrible. Browns Palace isn't a cheap place and I expect better of them. They should be ashamed of what they are providing to their customers (now a former customer in my case).
Holiday Brunch was enjoyable. Great venue with above average breakfast. Menu selection could be improved and coffee was underwhelming.
We went for Christmas Day brunch. The choices and food were incredible. Prime rib and ham were delicious. The desert choice were amazing. They were very busy but the service was great. Really enjoyed our meal.
Place is a dumpster fire.
we go to the champagne brunch every year and this year outdid them all. The q uality of the food and the selections were fabulous.
This was our first time going to this brunch and while it is definitely a great time and everyone should experience it, I was slightly underwhelmed (I am knitpicking). I expected a greater range of food options and while the decor had a classic vintage look, the tables and chairs need updating. I wouldn't recommend ordering from the bar because the drink is being made on the other side of the hotel and will take 15-20 minutes to arrive (this happened to us and we just asked to switch to the champagne option, cancelling the drink). Just stick with bottomless Champaign and you will be glad you did.
We were never rushed and truly got to enjoy everything the brunch had to offer. I would absolutely recommend to anyone.
The most amazing brunch buffet I've ever experienced. There were so many options that I filled up long before getting a chance to sample everything I wanted to try. Ellyngton's Sunday brunch is a must for whatever special occasion you are celebrating.
Food was awesome. Worst service I’ve had in any restaurant for years. No coffee unless you repeatedly asked. And then from the busboy not the waitress. Terribly disappointing for $250. plain breakfast for 6.
I had the lobster blt. My wife had the trout entree. Both were tasty. Total cost with two iced teas, a salad and cup of clam chowder was close to $90 which seemed expensive for what we received. The down side was the service. Our waiter would disappear for long periods of time. It took a long time to settle the check. It reminded me of Paris waiters.
I go there for special occasions, and it never disappoints. I need to find more special occasions!
Excellent food and service.
The Tea at the Brown Palace can be a circus. But, holiday brunch at Ellyngton's is just lovely. Live music, fresh food, and that dessert buffet which is the stuff of dreams - thank you for creating beautiful and delicious civility.
We had a great time service was great and the host was amazing.
We paid top dollar thinking that Ellington’s is one of the best restaurants in Denver and we can’t go wrong. Our lunch was very average. I ordered the lobster blt as a treat. The lobster was fishy and overcooked and dry. The bun looked old and smooshed. The fruit was typical hotel fruit, day old melon with pineapple— not very fresh— very poor quality for $23 lunch. The sweet potatoe fries that my daughter ordered for the table were not hot and they were typical fries— nothing special served with plain ol ketchup. Lettuce in the salads were wilted.
The decor looked tired and unappealing for a top Denver restaurant. Really disappointing — I wanted some place really special.
Also the valet was all full so we had to park our own car— I had just had surgery and was certain I could valet my car.
I know it’s busy season but the brown palace needs to make changes to accommodate for the business! Ellington’s wasn’t even full!
Total experience was very disappointing.
The food is wonderful, I really enjoyed the variety on their menu. Everything we ordered was amazing and their Christmas decorations were lovely! The service was not great. I felt very let down by our server, we had to flag down some assistance a few times. Our coffee sat empty as did our bar drinks. Very slow, at such sought after destination with an outstanding reputation as the Brown Palace we expected exceptional service and that was the one thing we did not get. Otherwise, all in all we had a great time.
