SOMA

Chef Christopher Bleidorn’s ambitious tasting menus have earned this elegant SoMa restaurant two MICHELIN Stars. Sink into a sage banquette in the dining room surrounded by exposed brick and rustic beams for a two- or three-hour meal starring Bleidorn’s signature “heritage” dishes focused on whole proteins and seasonal vegetables cooked over the restaurant’s hearth. Or snag a seat at the counter to watch the action in the open kitchen dressed with hanging herbs.

Wonderful dining experience! Every course was thoughtfully prepared. You can taste the expert care taken with all of the ingredients. Highly recommend. Highly recommend chef’s table seating.

Great service and amazing food. Recommend outside dining for a more romantic peaceful feel.

Napa

At long last, one of San Francisco’s best Neapolitan pizzerias is rolling up to Wine Country. The downtown Napa outpost of A16 serves up the same fan-favorite blistered pies (get the fennel sausage) and refined pastas that made the original Chesnut Street location a runaway hit. Linger with a glass of Southern Italian wine from owner Shelley Lindgren’s James Beard Award-winning list in the shady outdoor parklet for a quintessential Napa experience.

Just as fabulous as the one in SF Marina!! I had the Squash blossoms filled with Ricotta, the squid ink pasta which was in broth so it was moist and the olive oil cherry cake.

For more standout pies, head to Delarosa in the Marina. Open since 2010, this Cal-Ital favorite from Back of the House group (Beretta, Lolinda, and more) is a destination for its seasonal spritzes and crispy, Roman-inspired pies (pro tip: try the creamy burrata margherita). It’s all served in a lively industrial space with wide windows that open onto Chestnut Street—ideal for people- and puppy-watching.
