Absolutely outstanding. Possibly one of the best meals I have ever had anywhere in the world. Confident and refined, but unfussy and at times playful, we ordered the tasting menu and were blown away. The all natural wine pairing was incredibly interesting and we, in addition, had the NA pairing which is under no circumstances to be missed. We also ordered an extra course which received its own perfect pairing, as well as samples of their in-house schnapps, all of which were immaculate. The design of the interior is also so welcoming and cool, the ambience was amazing. Can’t wait to return, many thanks to Hannah who took good care of us!

Supremely Asian American. Eastern cooking technique.

Taking inspiration from the night markets of Asia and his Korean-American childhood, Chef Edward Kim pairs eastern cooking techniques with Chicago ingredients to create umami-laden flavors, juxtaposing tastes and textures for a wildly exciting menu. A festive and lively dining scene is anchored by a well-lauded bar program and an open pantry, inviting our guests further into the kitchen experience. Like a nightly Asian Thanksgiving, expect Feast-Style dining, rolling up your sleeves, passing plates with your neighbors, getting sauce on your face - if you’re having a good time you’re doing it right.

This was my second time at Ocean-Prime Chicago, and it didn't disappoint. If you like seafood or steaks, it can't be beat. Their pretzel rolls are soft and warm, perfect for melting butter. I started with a half dozen oysters on the half shell, their private label offering (cape cod). Served with a cocktail sauce with plenty of extra horseradish on top for mixing in. Next I had the Halibut, Halibut you say, such a common fish in a fancy restaurant. Unlike no other I've ever had. Served over a bed of gnocchi and lobster meat, with a tomato/lemon au jus. Out of this world. I would have loved to try one of their sushi rolls, or salads, but I'll save that for next time. I can't say anything about the deserts, except they looked amazing as they went by, too full for that. But I can comment on one of the best old fashions I've had. Added to the 4 Roses bourbon and Angostura bitters, was Aperol, gave it a sweetness unlike others. I actually went to the bar after I finished my meal to have another and get the recipe. The service was outstanding, if not a little too fast. I was eating alone so it didn't bother me, but if I had company I probably would have wanted a little more time between courses. Overall a great experience; great service, great food and great drinks. I highly recommend it for couples and business meetings. Probably not a great place for younger kids though.

My wife, a close friend, and I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and it was an experience worth savoring. The menu showcases a creative blend of seafood, meat, and wood-fired steaks, each crafted with precision and bold flavors. The Raw & Chilled section features beautifully presented dishes like the Yellowfin Tuna Crudo and Bay Scallop Crudo—fresh, vibrant, and expertly balanced. The Seafood Platter is a must-try, offering an exquisite selection of oysters, scallop tartare, and poached blue prawns. Moving into the heartier options, the Foie Gras Steamed Buns were a decadent surprise, while the King Crab Motoyaki was indulgent yet refined. The Wood-Fired Steaks are undoubtedly a highlight, with the 10 oz American Wagyu Bavette and the impressive 32 oz Prime Porterhouse standing out for their quality and perfect execution. The Signature Sauces allow for customization, with rich options like Ssämjang Butter and Thai Jumbo Lump Crab "Oscar" adding extra layers of flavor. Even the Veggies section offers delightful choices, such as the Twice Baked Potato and Smoked Four Star Mushrooms, ensuring a well-rounded meal. Beyond the exceptional food, the atmosphere was warm yet sophisticated, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. The three of us enjoyed every moment—from the expertly crafted dishes to the inviting ambiance. It was a fantastic evening, and I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for top-tier cuisine crafted by talented chefs.

The tastefully adapted Nepalese and Indian cuisine in a contemporary rustic setting:
Vajra is a modern yet simple rendering of age old classic cuisine from the sub-continent; heralded for their rich cultural heritage and penultimate piquancy. First concept by Rice Paper & Company ( RPAC), Vajra aims to stay true to the roots; at the same time, introducing modern iterations of fabled dishes and simplicity of spices masterfully created by Chef Min Thapa combined with expertly crafted cocktails by Jean Banchet nominated head bartender Juanjo Pulgarin.
While understanding that the concept of the perfect marriage of the flavors and aromas can only be afforded by the usage of fresh and local produce, Vajra encourages and effectuates the purveyors that are reputable and honest to their respective trades.
Moreover, Vajra celebrates life with good food and the best people.

Vajra is an excellent restaurant. Amid COVID-19 concerns, each party was seated far from anyone else. Everything was handled professionally and hygienically. Servings are large and we took enough to have another meal. I highly recommend!
