   Have eaten here a few times, but due to the holiday, service was way too slow...over an hour to get the food ordered while much larger parties demanded all the attention. Food normally ordered was way off, again probably due to understaffing and way too may bookings for one evening. I don't mind paying for an overly priced tiny portion of pasta, but not if its exectued poorly. They are usually a good restaurant but for now I am disappointed and will look elsewhere for higher end Italian. Disappointed!

   Such an incredible restaurant. We love coming here and will be every Christmas Eve.

   Food great as always. Our server seemed quite rushed and skipped over offering wine lists, etc when we sat down- not offering suggestions or asking questions. Atypical of past experiences.

   Having been going to Donatello for years. Food experience is always exceptional. Prices have become some of the highest for food in the Tampa Bay Area. Our reservation was made online and had been modified for 6 diners, confirmed through Open Table. The Maitre D seemed surprised by us being 6 diners at our arrival. We were taken to a table set for 5 people. A 6th place was added with a chair and utensils only. Napkin and bread plate had to be asked for twice and bread plate never came. The table was too small to accommodate 6 people, bread, food, drinks and wine. Dinner arrived when we were still eating appetizers, forcing us to rush to finish as there was no room for the food. We asked for a second bread basket which arrived near the end of eating our entrees. It was our daughter's birthday and we ordered dessert and cappuccinos. While the coffee came quickly, and was delicious, dessert arrived 30 minutes after we'd ordered it, after the coffees were finished and only after I reminded a different waiter that we had ordered dessert. We did enjoy the birthday salutation sung in Italian by all the waiters, something the restaurant is known for. The busy holiday season must always bring the restaurant's "A" game, especially at the price point charged, never to be excused for being too busy a time of year or difficult to staff. I was very disappointed for the "C" service experience we received.

   Always a pleasure dining at Donatellos. Anyone who visits Tampa must checkout this place as it is a Tampa staple.

   Very classy Italian restaurant with old school feel of service and elegance. Fits right in with the best restaurants in both NYC and LA for ambiance, service and food...a gift to Tampa!

   Started off great. Birthday celebration and everyone acknowledged that. We were seated against the wall. Comfortable table restaurant was busy on a Friday night. Service was 4 star. Nice, very polite. Wine selection is outstanding!!! Now on to the food. We generally have an opinion about the quality of food based on two appetizers. Calimari and bruschetta. Both were delicious. Definitely order them again. The entree is where things went downhill. I ordered a seafood medley. Grouper/shrimp/scallops and veggies. Based on how many people raved about the pasta, I was surprised that my dish didn’t come with or offer any pasta. Just seafood and veggies. Grouper was well seasoned and delicious. Scallops were seared and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The shrimp is where the problem is. Jumbo shrimp were hard. Couldn’t cut them with a fork. When the Waiter asked if everything was okay…..unfortunately I said no. He insisted that I give him the opportunity to make this right. I agreed to let him. I should have just shut my mouth. Second plate arrives, scallops were raw, shrimp were cooked right but the grouper was raw…..pink on the inside. Looked like chicken. We sent it back. The waiter adjusted the bill and I tipped him as though we had paid for the entree. Probably won’t be back. But we can always try again another time

   Have always enjoyed a great meal here. Always well prepared and delicious. Menu however doesnt change but maybe it shouldn’t. Menu prices have soared. $90 for an entree too much. Overall prices have soared. Now too much to bear considering other great options in Tampa. Probably best for expense accounts and who don’t care about price.

    Love Donatello's. The food and service are always excellent. this time it was too crowded and noisy for me, but it might have been due to the holiday season and everyone celebrating.
