Welcome to Donatello, a fine dining restaurant serving authentic Italian cuisine since 1984.
Located close to the Tampa Airport, Raymond James Stadium, International Mall and convenient to I-275 and Downtown, Donatello features an award winning wine list to accompany traditional veal dishes like Osso Bucco, homemade pastas, fresh seafood, prime steaks, with decadent desserts, and live music 6 nights a week in our piano lounge and bar. Mrs. Kitty played on the same ticket with James Brown and Fats Domino and the pre-show for Dizzy Gillespie. Majid was on the same stage with Mahalia Jackson, Count Basie, Aretha Franklin. They play Tuesday – Friday.

It was our first time at Donatello. We were greeted by Gino who welcomed us. Al was our waiter and he was terrific. What a wonderful night we had. Made another reservation for our birthday dinners in September. Can’t wait to go back. Everything was perfect from start to finish.

Very busy which is good. Very loud group next to us talking about inappropriate subjects for a classy restaurant which has nothing to do with the restaurant just Florida people Food was ok Staff was friendly and attentive Portions were big but overpriced Best part was the desert

We acted on a recomendation , any restrauant that tells you to be on time or lose your reservation is suspect. I can not remember being ask for a credit card prior to arriving. We were seated right a way. Noticed the overhead table light would go on and off the whole visit. I suggested to the waiter the problem he said oh yeh we have a short or something, no offer to move tables. He took our drink orders immediately and asked us what we wanted to order ! I mean 5 minutes after being seated. This place wanted to turn are table promptly. This is NO Burns Restrauant but priced like one. Eaten at much nicer establishments for less , Flemmings , Morton's etc.etc. The four of us felt so rushed. And by the way the "roses" where losing there petals as we walked to the car. It was obivous they were days old. Would never go back. p.s. the Oso Buco was very good but not the best we've ever eaten.

The waiter was knowledgeable about Vegan options. There are few vegan options but were very good ones. Minestrone soup was vegan as is the house salad with minor changes. They split one portion very nicely. They also put together a vegan dish that included Portobello mushrooms, eggplant and other vegetables that were tasty. The portion of Portobello mushrooms could have been larger. I also wish they had more options for vegans such as beans or quinoa. The pasta is made with egg and the bread is not vegan. My spouse had the poached Salmon in heavy cream sauce and was very good. In the past we have had Dover sole which was also on their menu. Service was good as we came at 5:30 but became very busy one hour later and noise also increased with other loud customers. All in all they lived up to their great reputation

Disappointing First Visit – Would Not Recommend We visited this restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations. We began with a Limoncello martini, requested with a sugar rim. However, there was barely any sugar on the glass — a small but noticeable detail that was overlooked. For appetizers, we ordered the Ostrich Fiorentina with crab and the Lumache Farce. The crab in the ostrich dish tasted old, which was quite off-putting. The lumache was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. Our entrées included the seafood special — Risotto al Frutti di Mare — and the Ossobuco alla Milanese. The seafood risotto was disappointing: the grouper was overcooked and the crab again tasted far from fresh. The risotto accompanying the ossobuco was poorly prepared, though the staff did accommodate a request to substitute it with a vegetable version. Service was also lacking. When we asked for a few minutes to decide on drinks, our server walked away without offering any recommendations and was slow to return. At one point, we had to ask someone else to help find him. While he did eventually come back, he never once checked in to ask how our food was or if we needed anything else. Overall, the combination of inconsistent food quality and inattentive service made this a very disappointing first visit. Sadly, I would not recommend this restaurant, especially for a special occasion.

It was a 100/10 experience, our server was amazing and the food was fresh. The ambiance is to die for, especially if you are going on a girls night, date or pictures. This was my third time coming here and the energy the restaurant carries never fails, ending every night with a beautiful rose!

What a nice experience we had at Donatello's. We were celebrating our anniversary and had been here with a big party years ago for our 25th. The atmosphere was romantic but not so dimly lit that we couldn't see our menu. They don't have a huge menu but a nice selection of meals. They are presented in an attractive way and it is a nice portion so you don't feel like there is too much to eat. The waiters were wonderful. Very polite and helpful. Even pulled the table out so we didn't have to scoot into the booth. I highly recommend this fine restaurant.
