Delicious birthday dinner! Great covid19 safe practices. We’ll be back!
Wonderful cocktails and wine list!
The food was fantastic, the service was great and we had an amazing evening overall.
The staff were excellent, and the patio area is cozy, while remaining social distanced. Health-wise, all of the servers wear masks and gloves, I felt as though proper precautions were being taken. Apart from the service and atmosphere though, it was an underwhelming experience. For appetizers my date and I got the mexican shrimp cocktail and the caesar salad made tableside. While the salad was a fun spectacle, the shrimp cocktail was a disappointing soupy mess, consisting of a goblet of salsa with a half dozen tiny shrimp scattered throughout. I looked forward to a redeeming entree, and while my date's crab stuffed trout was excellent, I was not fortunate enough to say the same. but I ordered a ribeye cooked medium, what I ended up paying $34 for was an overcooked piece of leather. We did not stay for dessert, so I can't speak to that, although the menu did sound enticing. Despite the atmosphere and friendly servers, I judge a steakhouse on its steak and would not say the food was not worth the price. I don't believe we will be returning.
Food wasn’t cooked as well as our first visit
Birthday celebration. Enjoyed sitting outside.
We had a enjoyable experience the staff was very friendly and made you free welcome and important. The food was outstanding in every way shape and form. We have found a new favorite place to enjoy a wonderful dinner.
Best bartender in Santa Fe. Also best value for happy hour!
Had an early reservation on a Saturday evening. Arrived about 10 minutes early and was asked to wait as they didn’t open until 10 minutes later. OK...no problem. A minute or two later was asked by a second person to be seated. OK...again, no problem. I took a seat and then the first guy said...I thought I asked you to wait. I said he had, but someone else said to be seated. A little awkward, but no big deal, I guess. Asked if I wanted to have a drink and I said OK...a gin and tonic. The menu had several kind of specialty cocktails and fine and tonic was not on that list. The waiter looked for it on the menu and I said it wasn’t on there...but could I get a G&T? He said OK and I did eventually get the drink. The food was good...everyone had something different, but good. The biggest issue was that their outdoor dining was right by a busy street and it was loud. Motorcycles. Kids revving up their motors. Clearly, the restaurant has the outdoor dining they have, it if you want a quiet spot...I’d go elsewhere. Again, not the restaurant’s fault at all.
Went for for a birthday celebration. We ordered the mushroom truffle soup which is a favorite. The Châteaubriand made table side was prepared perfectly, the meat is tender and well seasoned. The staff was attentive and friendly.
Our first time at this restaurant was wonderful. Great staff, really pleasant live, acoustic guitar music, and great food. Our dinner overlapped happy hour so we saved a few bucks on appetizers and drinks. Everything we had was very good : coconut shrimp, crab cakes, beef tips with queso, veal picatta, and scallops fettuccine. And tres leche cake. Clayton gave us great service and the patio is nice, even though you can hear some street noise (unavoidable). Owner stopped by the table to let us know he appreciates our business. Don't let the name fool you.... It isn't just for couples! Definitely going back.
Date night was awesome at dinner for ywo
We sat inside - the weather was getting too cool for outside. Very quiet, three tables occupied. Great attentive service. That is the good news.
Let us turn our attention to the food. We ordered the Thursday special the prime rib, medium rare. It came within two minutes.
It was a nice portion, medium, moderately tender. The presentation sucked. The veggies arrived as a spoon full of undefinable green stuff. We love this place, but this was awful: it’s not classy to just dump everything on the plate - next time plate it as if YOU want to eat it!
There isn't a bad meal on this menu, everything criminally delicious, and the staff is so, so helpful and good. Thank you, will be back!
We have eaten a number of times at Dinner for Two. Enjoyed our visit. The dining room was not crowded probably due to COVID time. Only complaint we had was the volume of music. We asked a couple of times to turn the dance music down a notch but it didn’t happen. It probably would have been fine if more people were in the room but it didn’t lend to a quiet dinner with my honey. My veal piccata was outstanding and my bride had the crab stuffed salmon and cleaned her plate with many sounds of satisfaction.
The food and drinks were phenomenal! We went during happy hour and ordered a little of everything- every single dish was beautifully prepared, fresh, and delicious. We brought our 2 kids under 10, and sat on the patio. Road noise was a little obnoxious, but not awful (the restaurant can’t help some cars in Santa Fe wish they were on Fast and Furious). You MUST order the carrot cake, it’s the best I’ve ever eaten. We will return, it’s our new favorite place!
We went for their Sunday evening 3-course meal. While it was pretty good, we expected more. As others have said, outdoor seating is loud with the busy road right there. Plus, a family brought their kids (the only kids there) and it pretty much ruined the atmosphere. In terms of food, the soup was really good (the best of the 3 courses). There were quite a few entrees to choose from, but over half of them had an upcharge. I chose the fettuccine with bay scallops and capers. Unfortunately, there were WAY too many capers, which resulted in a very salty dish. The scallops were slightly over cooked. Dessert was disappointing. If we were to go again, we would have simply ordered off the happy hour menu and skipped the 3 course dinner.
This was our first visit to Dinner for Two. We were seated immediately and greeted by the wait staff. The food was terrific. We started with the Caesar Salad for Two, prepared table-side. Although vey good, I do not believe that the table-side show justified the price (my spouse disagrees with my assessment). My spouse had the Idaho Trout with Crab Meat and I had the NYS Strip Steak with Blue Cheese and Truffle Frittes. Each dish was delicious and well-prepared. For dessert, we shared the Tres Leches Cake, which was fantastic. The service was very good throughout the evening. We had only two (2) minor complaints, one of which is not the restaurant's fault. There is quite a bit of road noise on Guadalupe Street (we ate outside). The other was the music played by the DJ. It was inappropriate for a classy restaurant like Dinner for Two
Great restaurant and the food is delicious. I have been there 4 times and they never disappoint. My favorite food items are the 12ioz grass fed filet , Caesar salad and the bananas foster. Great job owners and staff !
Excellent place for special events, food is amazing, owner is a great conversationalist and atmosphere is relaxing.
Fantastic evening! Some of the more rude denizens of Santa Fe drove by a couple of times with loud exhaust pipe on there trucks, but that aside it was a beautiful evening.
The food was underwhelming at best. The "crab stuffed trout in brown butter sauce" was trout with a whisper of crab flakes in some sort of a green -- maybe pesto? -- sauce, and there was no hint of coconut on the coconut crusted shrimp on the sampler platter. Disappointing experience for high prices. We won't be back.
Waited 10 minutes for the server to acknowledge I was their and start service. Very slow service. And How hard can it be to cook a steak to the proper temperature. Asked for medium rare. Steak comes out bloody red rare. Sent it back. Comes back well done. And tough as nails. They at at least asked if I would like a different entree. Third time the new steak did come out med rare. But still a very tough chewy piece of meat. I would not recommend this place.
Will not dine outdoors again - too noisy but love indoor dining
I was so looking forward to dinner here and dining on the patio but after waiting for a long time to even have our drink order taken and then so much longer after that to have our food order taken, I was disappointed. Service at a restaurant of this price scale should be up to par. You can really hear the traffic during dinner. A good way to drowned that out would be play music from a speaker system when there is no live music. Our drinks were very good we had a bourbon smash. The food was delicious. What would’ve helped waiting for our order to be taken would have been a bread basket.
Great cocktails! Best we had in downtown Santa Fe area. Good value for food; we got the 3 course for $25
Excellent service and menu. They even have a guitar playing adding to the ambiance. We will go back.
The best dinner out we have ever had! Thank you. We have already recommended to others.
Believe food is overpriced. Good food but definitely overpriced
My server was outstanding and my 3 course Sunday dinner was very fine. Thank you, kitchen and staff!!
fun and delicious - will be back for sure for happy hour with friends
The food was great. The service was great as well. Everyone was really nice
You can go whole hog or just enjoy a light dinner. Very pleasant way to spend an evening.
They did their best considering it was raining, windy and miserable and all that was open due to COVID was outdoor seating. The wind picked up our table umbrella and dropped it back right on top of me which made our experience memorable.
We were able to finish our wine and take our food to go. The steak I ordered was cooked perfectly and delicious, my husbands seafood sampler was delicious as well!
All I really wanted was bananas foster but had to forgo it this time 😢
Food was amazing. We sat outside due to covid restrictions under an umbrella in the pouring rain. We were celebrating 20 years married that night and it was hilarious, delicious, and much more. Memorable date!
Fantastic food. Ceaser salad made at the table is the best. One of a few restaurants where you can get a real Ceaser salad. Veal was prepared properly. The lamb chops were excellent and cooked to perfection. We will return.
Food and service was outstanding per usual perfect place to celebrate our anniversary
Excellent food as always. Started with the green chili chicken flatbread and crab cakes. Then shared the New York strip with green chili queso. Steak was prepared perfectly!! Love the new patio area also.
Service was great. Drinks were fabulous and food was delicious.
Dinner For Two is our favorite restaurant in Same Fe. When we go out it is a special occasion and I'm willing to splurge for the best steak around. We're treated like family.
We visit Santa Fe often and have been wanting to try this place for a while. We were so pleased with our experience! We went late on a Sunday and they have a 3 course dinner for only $25. The portions were perfect and the food itself surpassed our expectations. They’re patio was so romantic and the service was spot on. We can’t wait to come back next time we’re in town.
