Excellent evening. Great food and service. Have probably been to Dinner for Two a dozen times.
The famous Caesar salad was not what a Caesar salad should be.
Out table was rickety, but the service was good and I love the restaurant.
This was one my favorite paces to eat I’m SF. However, had a really bad experience last visit. Service was awful. We had to wait 15 minutes for a menu. Our waiter was clearly annoyed when we asked for a happy hour menu and was rude. He was so rude that we asked to talk to a manger. The owner actually came and basically said NOTHING. Lastly, the 30 dollar Cesar salad was horrible. Clearly something haschanged and I will not be going back.
Chateaubriand and bananas foster were delicious. Drinks were really pricey. No parking close by. We called and they told us to park in public lot and they would pay for it by stamping ticket. Not true. We had to pay $12. Only got $2 discount
Oyster mushroom soup is amazing!!!
If you want to experience what good restaurants were like 40 years ago, this is the place for you. The menu is not creative. The caesar salad prepared at the table was dreadful; the dressing made the already warm lettuce limp. The steak temperatures were prepared correctly, but couldn't the sides have been interesting? There are so many good restaurants in Santa Fe; go to them instead of this one.
A fun place for supper! It was hopping on a Sunday night and the crowd did not affect the quality of the food. We loved the Caesar Salad prepared table side.
Excellent service and great food. I had the Sampler as my main course and my wife had the Mole. I was very happy that the tables were spaced far apart in the dining room area both for privacy and COVID safety. Suggest calling ahead to find out about the location of the valet parking as the valet parking sign is not easy to see when driving by and there is no on street parking on the adjacent streets.
The food was excellent and we highly recommended it to friends.
We ordered the special… Steak(three cuts to choose from),Lobster tail and coconut shrimp , served w tender asparagus and mashed potatoes. Absolutely perfectly cooked and served
Will be back next time we are in Santa Fe!
Everything was okay. I went there to celebrate my birthday, the owner acknowledged that it was my birthday, when I checked in but that was it. There was a big table right next to me and they had a birthday celebration as well. They got sparklers and the birthday gal got a carrot cake. My advice, take care of your single patrons. I don’t think I will be going back.
This was a great experience. Fantastic service and the food was terrific. Santa Fe style eclectic vibe, clearly a place favored by locals as well as tourists. We had the chateaubriand for two which I thought was a bargain at $90. Great wine list, too!!
Plan ahead (with reservation through open table app) then you don't want to regret! My best reservation, ever!
Group of four out-of-staters, and our first time at Dinner for Two. We came because of their former presence at the SF Wine and Chili Festivals, which we attended annully, pre-pandemic. Cosy restaurant. Hard floors and ceilings made it too noisy for our comfort, but as noist neighbers left, it became better.
I had oyster soup as first course, and mussels for main course, both well-prepared, but the mussels had no discernable garlic, which I like. Prompt, friendly service, fully staffed restaurant. A pleasant evening.
Do not hesitate one moment to dine here! But...make it outside. The interior is not so inviting as being in the open-air seating area. Most entrees appear as appetisers, so if you have a tough time deciding, choose 4 appetizers like we did. And the carrot cake? Do not leave without trying it...as well as the peach (from the chef's garden) margarita~
Salad, steak , lobster and he carrot cake were excellent!
The food was very good
My wife had trout and I had steak. We had bananas foster for dessert (highly recommend).
Only beef was that the guitar player (about 30 feet away) was just too damn loud.
The seafood platter was a disappointment. The salmon was cold and the size of your thumb. Three medium size were tasty but lukewarm and the crab cakes were tiny and again lukewarm is a stretch. More like an appetizer than an entree in my opinion.
Great as always!
Fabulous. The food prepared perfectly. The service was just right. Not too much, not too little. The prices were in line with fine dining so no sticker shock. Parking around the Plaza is always an issue, using the nearby garage is your best option. It's only a block away. Would definitely return for special occasion and definitely recommend.
Andy and his staff make everything wonderful and truly a great experience.
Waiters were nice. Delmonico steak was tough and not done quite right.
This is the best steak that I have had in years. Perfectly prepared. The mixologist behind the bar is a wizard. The wine list was extensive and reasonably priced. We ate at a hightop table in the bar and had a great time. You could watch them cook in the open kitchen. I thought the noise level would be high, but it wasn’t
Very nice dinner experience, food was delicious. We would highly recommend if visiting Santa Fe,NM
Really outstanding. Their grass-fed filet was the best I've had in quite some time. Friendly staff. We ate on the outdoor patio, which was heated. Go.
The food was good but not exceptional. The waiter seemed he was in a hurry, in fact, he didn’t even share the specials with our table. The table next to us told us the specials after we ordered. Upsetting.
Best Ceasar Salad in the world and best Bananas Foster. Great place to have dinner!
Presentation was excellent Elvis prepared our châteaubriand table side with all the ingredients explained as he was cooking!! It was very entertaining and mouth watering. That first bite was heavenly. My dirty martini and my husbands margarita was exactly the way we like it as well. The only negative comment we had was the wine list was very limited. But the drinks made up for it.
We definitely will go again and try the other things on the menu
We had stopped here in 2019 for their table side Caesar Salad and had a hankering for another so made reservations in September of 2021. The salad was very good and prepared as a Caesar Salad should be with plenty of garlic and anchovies. Our meal consisted of the Caesar Salad for two, a bowl of their delicious award-winning oyster mushroom soup, a beer, and a glass of wine. With tip, the cost was a bit over $100.00. A bit daunting for soup and salad, but we were celebrating being able to get back to a sit down meal in restaurants. Other menu items looked very interesting.
My wife and I split the Ceaser salad, it was different but still great. I had the Filet, which was amazing. My wife had the mussels and loved them. The wine list was decent, prompt service and a friendly atmosphere.
Food was fair a tough steak and salty enchiladas
Great food, great service and excellent atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Food was excellent and fun to see it being prepared at your table.
Out party of four was warmly greeted and an inviting table was waiting. Service was responsive to our requests and attentive but not overly. The enchiladas with mole were first-class and the tres leches cake very light and flavors balance. I highly recommend Dinner for Two.
Dinner for Two is literally THE BEST. Our go to weekly for their astonishing happy hour (the best in Santa Fe — get the steak tips with green Chile queso!) and a shoe in for special occasions and visits from family. Whenever we have dinner, I get the filet Oscar. Highly recommend; medium rare, of course. Finish your night off with tableside bananas foster. The service is beautiful, I always feel taken care of and loved!
Food was fantastic, service was great, parking sucks
Went here with a big group of people and it was one of the best dinners I've had here in town. Appetizers, drinks, entrees were all outstanding and everyone seemed very pleased with their meals and the overall experience.
Outstanding service. Excellent menu variety and delicious offerings. I have had a lot of trout dishes but this was the very best. the mussels were divine.
Parking is very difficult with no direction we’re to park
The cocktails were delicious. Loved the mushroom soup, crab cakes, Caesar salad, and tres leches cake. The service was friendly and pleasant but had problems with providing napkins and appropriate silverware. I know restaurants are struggling so I hope this resolves itself as we come out of the pandemic. Loved the DJs music choices but too loud when seated right under a speaker.
