They used to have a fantastic Green Chile Gouda Mac and cheese that was taken off the menu by the new chef. The old menu had a nice variety of standard options and some fun dishes to try out, and the new menu just has a plain feel, which matches the food. Not bad, just standard.
Great food and service! We went there prior to a concert at the Pepsi center. Our waitress recommended the chili white shrimp and they were perfect. I can't remember the name but the special old fashion was great. Highly recommend.
It was fine but I would not go out of my way to eat there. It’s convenient prior to events at Pepsi center. The drinks were good and the burger and fries were delicious. I did not care for the brussel sprouts with slices of meat in it. So many better recipes would be tastier and healthier.
It was ok. Not great. Not sure I’d go back. It’s convenient to Pepsi Center which was the only reason we went there.
Hi LorraineB! I would really appreciate if you could reach out to me personally and give me a little more insight to your dining experience so that I could use your feedback as a learning opportunity for my team. We want everyone who visits our restaurant to have the best experience possible and we would love the opportunity to host you again.
Good was good. The menu was abreviated later in the evening, with no mention of that in their marketing. That was a disappointment. What we did eat, was very good.
I'm so sorry to hear that you were disappointed in hearing about our late night menu. We try to get the word out as much as possible but it looks like we came up a little short this time. We will certainly take your feedback into consideration and look for more ways to make our guests aware. I am happy that you enjoyed the food that was available and would love to host you again soon! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or further concerns.
Great quiet spot with good food to hit before the Avs games. The Curry Cauliflower was great!
Thank you so much for sharing your review with us! The Curry Cauliflower is also one of my favorite dishes! Another great item to try is our Flash Fried Brussels Sprouts! Come back and visit us again soon!
We ate at Degree before an Avalanche game because of how convenient it is to the Pepsi Center. The food was good and the service was acceptable. It's a small dining room with an open kitchen and didn't get too loud, even on a Friday evening. Overall, Degree is a good option for dining before an event at Pepsi Center and we will probably come back again at some point.
Thank you mperiman for your review of Degree. We appreciate your feedback and would love to see you again soon! We have Happy Hour Monday-Friday from 3pm to 6pm, great for a pregame dinner!
Understated and delicious! Love this place. Great happy hour and walking distance to Pepsi Center.
Thank you so much for your kind words about Degree! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your feedback! Come back and visit us for happy hour anytime!
An enjoyable meal and good, timely service.
Unique items on menu.
Thank you so much for your kind words JamesB! We know that you have many options for dining out in Denver and we appreciate that you visited us here at Degree! We would love to see you again soon!
Only 3 entrees on menu and they didn't have one so very limited selection. A.lmost everything we tried to order they were out of so we just had appetizers
Our apologies SteveW on your less than perfect visit to our restaurant! Judging by the date of your visit, you caught us on a day that we were transitioning to our brand new menu. There was a brief period that required letting certain items run out to make room for our new and exciting menu items. I'm sorry for any inconvenience that this caused you. I'd love to welcome you back so that you can try some of our new dishes! They do not disappoint!
It is important to know that this "restaurant" is actually in MSU. As near as I can figure, it is run by college students in the hospitality program. The service was very good, but the food was uninspired and pretty pricey, in my opinion, for what you got. Menu is also very limited.
Thanks for your feedback KeliN. Our Marriott hotel and restaurant is student-assisted rather than student-run as our management team is made up of seasoned and highly trained professionals who employ hospitality students in an effort to develop them into the next generation of great hospitality leaders. We are actually featuring a brand new menu and I think there are some options on it that you might find a lot more inspiring! Please stop by and check them out! We would love to serve you again!
Server was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our food selections. Mid-day during the week, was very quiet
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback! We are so glad that you enjoyed your experience here at Degree. We would love to serve you again soon! Our Happy Hour is Monday - Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm and we feature some really delicious food and drink specials!
Loved this restaurant! The staff was really friendly and helpful and our meals came quickly even though we had one person join us after we ordered. We started with the Crispy Brussels sprouts which were fantastic and came in a big bowl- plenty to share! We added the BBQ ribs appetizer which was tasty with a unique flavor. People in my family had the salmon, patty melt, chicken club and I had the Gouda and Blue salad- yum. The ice cream cookie sandwiches for dessert sealed the deal. The variety was great- something for everyone. We went before a show at the theater and it was a short walk. It would be even closer to the Pepsi Center. Will definitely go again!
We are so happy to hear about your wonderful dining experience! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. With all of the dining options available to you here in Denver we appreciate that you chose Degree for your meal! I'm so glad that you loved your Crispy Brussels as those are a personal favorite of mine as well. If you enjoyed those you have to try our Roasted Cauliflower next time you join us!
Excellent and friendly staff!!!! Love the location in relation to Pepsi center as we go whenever we attend an event. The food has been great and service is quick but they never rush us
Thank you so much for dining with us at Degree! We know that you have a lot of choices when dining out in Denver and we appreciate you making us your go to spot for dinner before events at the Pepsi Center! Come back and see us for Happy Hour!
We made a reservation for a Wednesday evening before a concert at the Pepsi Center. We arrived at our reservation time but were very dis-satisfied from that point forward. After waiting for 20 minutes we finally had to ask for some water. When they took our order we informed them that we had concert tickets and would need to be timely. As it got closer and closer to the time we needed to leave we still had no food. We asked to speak to a manager and were told that it was challenging because "everyone" arrived at the same time. Yes.....it. was dinner time at a restaurant. We were told it would be just a "few more minutes" repeatedly. We had even paid ahead of our food arriving to save time at the end. We finally asked for a refund and left without eating. I understand that this is a program for MSU and teaching their students about restaurant management and service, but service is not what we received. Other people that were there were as disappointed as we were and also left without eating also.
Our sincerest apologies on your experience at our restaurant. We completely understand that this experience was an undesirable one and we are taking immediate action to ensure that this doesn't happen again. I encourage you to dine with us again and let us turn your negative experience into a more positive one. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you are interested and I would love to personally welcome you back.
“Energetic” is the definition of noisy on this review? Geez. Noisy is noisy and Degree is almost uncomfortably noisy, BUT SUCH a great location.
Thank you very much for your feedback. We are so happy that you enjoyed our location! We do take all feedback very seriously and are taking your comments under advisory. We would love to host you again so that we can provide you with a more comfortable dining experience.
We were going to a show at the Pepsi Center so very convenient for that but the service was slow and the food so so.
Thank you so much for your comments. We are terribly sorry that you had a less than desirable experience when dining with us. I can assure you that this is far from what we strive for. I would appreciate the opportunity to have you dine with us again and try some of our new menu offerings that you may find more to your liking.
Reserved a table for 1 on a concert night at Pepsi Center - table was available upon arrival - service was great - made the concert on time. THANKS!
Thank you so much for the kind words Frankie! We truly appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback. We would love to have you visit Degree again! Happy Hour is Monday - Friday from 3pm - 6pm and we feature some great specials!
Pasta cold & dry, had to ask for extra sauce to warm it up. burger undercooked- waitress overworked. She needed help. Our food would be visible and ready in the kitchen and would take her 5 to 7 minutes to know about it or have time to pick it up. One time my husband just went and picked it up. Unheard of
This feedback is very important to us and we deeply regret that you and your husband had a less than positive experience at our restaurant. Thank you for taking the time to provide this review that we can use as a learning opportunity for our team. I would like to invite you back to dine with us so that we could turn your negative experience into a positive one.
Excellent spot for grabbing a tasty meal near the Pepsi Center
The food quality was excellent as was the presentation. Prices were quite reasonable. The staff was polite and fun. I enjoyed the mentoring aspect of students learning how to run a quality restaurant. Service and wait time was excellent. Perfect location to stay at the Springhill Marriott and walk to the Pepsi Center. Don’t miss this great dining experience. Hope future breakfast options are in the works.
Service was good at first then as restaurant got busier, we couldn’t get our waitress’s attention and we had to ask her to clear the plates. However the ribs and the hummus were tasty. The chicken coconut soup had too many mushrooms for my taste. The cornbread was very bland and I had to ask for butter & honey. I’m not sure I would recommend to a friend.
Great location with metered parking and close to Pepsi. Good food and fun atmosphere for a moderately priced meal .
This is an inviting space that offers tasty choices close to downtown on the Auraria campus. It's generally not crowded, making it a relaxing choice. I've brought many colleagues here over the few years it's existed for lunches and dinners.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We would love to continue to serve you at Degree. Please stop by soon and check out some of our delicious new lunch items!
Good food and service but very pricy for a restaurant in a cooking school that forces you to valet at a hotel. Also the place was almost empty and depressing from an ambiance perspective.
Open space. Nicely finished. We visited before the Garth Brooks concert. Great place to stage getting to Mile High Stadium from. We'll go be back.
Went there for easy access for an event at the Pepsi Center and its great reviews. It was "m'eh".
They were out of brussel sprouts for the appetizer, and pork for the cubano. My wife's cornbread salad was pretty good, but not great. Same for my ribs. The malbec was very good. The "tiny pie" (mango-rum) sounded good, but I was expecting a caramelized flaky crust with ooey-gooey filling straight out of the oven for the scoop of ice cream to melt over. Instead it was a cold thick pie crust with mango chunks scooped in with some whipped-cream on top (and the ice cream off to the side).
Lots of fancy-sounding things on the menu, but the execution couldn't keep up. In a downtown Denver scene with lots of excellent (and comparably priced) restaurants a few minutes away by foot, it was a significant disappointment.
This is a cooking school live environment so every time a guest dines at Degree they could have a different experience. However, the students are committed to learning and to providing a good product to their guests.
Great place for pre-game dinner!
Great place to go before Avs game! Good food and reasonably priced.
Degree is always a great place to eat. The menu choices are good and the food comes out hot, fresh, and delicious. The wait staff is always so polite and caring.
Nice to have fresh, healthy food choices convenient to our hotel. Staff was efficient and courteous.
Degree is the restaurant for the Springhill suites. The menu is limited and well executed. It is about as expected for a mid scale hotel restaurant. The service was attentive but that may be because the place was empty. The deal for parking is good though.
Food and service was very good. A little pricey. Had a burger and they charge extra for cheese. I understand charging extra for 'special' cheese but not a slice of cheddar.
Good service and great food.
Ate at Degree before a concert at Pepsi Center. Convenient location, but more importantly, our waitress was amiable and gave us terrific recommendations. Mac-n-cheese and brussel sprouts? Delicious. Glad I made a reservation, as the restaurant is quaint with not a ton of seating. I will definitely return!
The hamburger was delicious and so were the fries! And such a great deal on the happy hour price! Service was friendly but seemed a little short staffed. Only one waitress to take care of the whole restaurant at 4:00 and it was busy. There was an additional waitress there by around 4:30 though and that helped a lot!
Overall it was great and the food was great. It just took a little long to get to check.
We had a great time before going to a Nuggets game.
Tasty Food and great service, in close proximity to The Pepsi Center.
