Best Steakhouses in Midlothian

We had a celebration for my mom’s birthday. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Everyone enjoyed their food. They even brought my mom a nice birthday dessert!

Having eaten at Chef Dunlap's Midlothian Chef's Kitchen restaurant we have been very eager to try his new restaurant, 1870. It's located in an historic building on Midlothian Turnpike. The inside of this historic property has been beautifully decorated. It felt comfortably luxurious. We sat upstairs in the bar where we had reserved a table. The bar area is comfortable, lively and continues the theme of the decor. We were there for Happy Hour. The drinks were delicious and the food on offer was amazing. We all got the smashburger - the main menu features steak so we knew the burger would be excellent and it was. I also need to shout out the fries - they came out hot and crispy. The bar filled up with a convivial crowd. Our server Emily was personable and kept up with how we were doing with our food and drinks. We are already looking forward to going back.

We had an excellent dinner. One had the Prime Ribeye and the other had the Prime NY Strip, both were excellent and the sides were just as delicious. Only complaint is the noise levels, but that should be expected with a full restaurant. Will definitely return for another great meal.

It was a very nice meal. A bit overly fastidious, but everything was quite good and they care that it is quite good — strongly recommend the lobster mac and cheese. It got me a second date, so maybe you will be so lucky.

The food is always quite good. Very consistent. Tonight was better than normal because of the service.
