Best Contemporary European Restaurants in La Jolla

Food and service were great. We took a seat at the bar while the hostess arranged for a balcony table for us. The bartender served us quickly and made great recommendations. The food was delicious and service is good. We split the crab cake, Caesar salad and filet mignon with truffle fries. Crab cake was delicious! Filet with peppercorn sauce was the perfect entree and those were the best truffle fries I’ve had. Caesar was good but we’ll probably try something else next time. We also found a great bottle Italian wine for under $40.

Great tapas experience and good wine choices too. Shrimp, potatoes and fish crudo all very good.

We decided go to the Whaling Bar after reading a review about the changes made to the Bar/restaurant. The food and service were excellent. We had shared plates, cocktails and wine having a Girls dinner..
