    We had a wonderful waitress who not only helped us navigate the wine list after our first choice was sadly sold out (it happens) but checked in at the perfect cadence. This was our best meal in Santa Fe - the elk tenderloin and the butter cakes being the stars. Highly recommended.

    Last night was our 7th annual trip to Santa Fe and the Coyote Cafe. As always, the resteraunt exceeded expectations. Paris is the best. We look forward to seeing him again next year. Thank you!

    This place has it down. Other than needing to wait fifteen or twenty minutes past our reservation time (understandable on Thanksgiving), it was great. The food was good, the service superb, ambience was perfect.

    I’ve not been to Coyote Cafe in years and thought it would be fun to go out for the Thanksgiving evening. The ambiance is wonderful, the service impeccable. The food? Really nothing special. A fixed menu is limited. The wine pairing was very good. It would probably not be a place I’d return to. I live in SF—it’s a restaurant town many of which are overpriced touristy places that make it into the travel books.

    Coyote Cafe is an elevated gem for the Santa Fe area. The ambiance and decor are pretty upscale compared to the other options in the area and the food was outstanding from start to finish. There's a parking lot down the street, so it's easy to get to. Lovely spot for a large group or just a table for two. Excellent all around.

    In general Coyote Cafe is one of our favorite dining destinations, we have been devoted patrons and our prior reviews have always been stellar in every regard. This Thanksgiving, however, there were a number of service glitches: menus not being removed from table without asking, no spoons when soup was ordered which required asking and waiting with soup cooling until brought, silverware not exchanged after courses, nessitating request for utensils in order to eat and again waiting. There did not appear to be clarity re roles-who was supposed to do what. We were not asked if we wanted a cocktail, only about water or wine, so had to ask ourselves. No specialty cocktail menu was presented. There were no half-bottles of wine on the menu, but when we asked options were provided. No bread was offered for the table. No coffee was offered until after the dessert was eaten. The noise level was already too high and the percussive music was not needed or pleasant. There is a flat dark wood separation panel between the arrays of bench tables just under the large chili pepper glass ceiling fixture. It was terribly dusty except at the very ends and was truly off-putting. The food was good and portions were fine. Personnel were nice despite service being disjointed. Though there were gaps in service, the overall ambience still felt frenetic and rushed. I trust that the subpar experience was due to a very busy Thanksgiving schedule and hope that the previously great service and attention to detail is restored soon.

    Its certainly disappointing for me to wake up and read about your experience for thanksgiving. I apologize about your experience, it seems to me that I need to speak to your server as well as the backwaiter that took care of you. May I have the name of your reservation please? We created signature cocktails specifically for last night I'm not sure why he didn't verbally tell you about them, there were half bottle selections under the wines by the glass abbreviated wine list as well as a whole page if you looked at our full list. I'm embarrassed about bread, coffee, cleanliness, its unacceptable. I will certainly read your review to the staff in pre service tonight. I was hoping everyones presence during a holiday would have gone better, Can I send you a gift card? Quinn / Owner

    This was a special menu for Thanksgiving. Service and ambiance were great, as usual. 2 of the 4 dishes were excellent, beef fillet and shrimp appetizer, as were the red wine choices - the granache, cote du rhone, tempranillo and pinot noir. The other two dishes were potentially good but were over sauced - the duck breast & confit were probably excellent but the tasty, spicy sauce completely buried the flavor of the duck; the branzino came with a creamy lime sauce that was excellent but it also overpowered the fish; in the latter case the sauce was partially on the side so it was not as disappointing as the duck dish. Portions for all four dishes were generous.

    We at at the counter for the Thanksgiving Day dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Watching the cooks was interesting and entertaining. They worked like a well-oiled machine. The food was wonderful--very flavorful and unique. Would definitely return!

Excellent food, excellent service and vibe, just make sure you have a reservation or I don't think you'll be getting Thanksgiving dinner in Santa Fe.

    The table was perfect and our waiter was a kind and attentive person. He recommended the cocktails and wines as well as meal choices, each a winner for us. The Mussels Posole appetizer, the Elk tenderloin and scallops were incredibly delicious. Each was inventive without being too edgy to enjoy. The portions were ideal. The chocolate mouse was the only disappointment. It just wasn't dark enough--more like a milk chocolate that was not nearly as satisfying as it could have been after such a stellar meal. Still, this was a 5+ experience and we will happily return when we are ready to spend $250 for the pleasure.

    Dinner was awesome last night. Kirsten waited on us and was just spectacular. Francisco, the manager came by a few times and has already been very attentive on this and previous visits. The snap peas were so good, we ordered another plate. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the filet is one of the best I have ever had. Atmosphere is awesome and we will continue to visit for special occasions.

    We celebrated a wedding anniversary and Coyote Cafe knocked it out of the park. Food was exquisite and service was stellar. We started with complimentary flutes of Gruet Sparkling Rose followed by the unique Mussels Posole and the wrapped Caesar salad accompanied by their tasty corn pones. My husband loved the beef filet and I was wowed by the Divers Scallops. We only had room to taste the complimentary Mac and cheese so it became dinner the next night along with my leftover mussels Posole. For dessert we enjoyed the ultra rich chocolate offering and the yummy banana cream pie! I can’t say enough good about the entire experience.

    We picked this restaurant to celebrate two birthdays, my husband and our friend ( this date was their actual birthdate). I notified the restaurant ahead of time. Previously when we came for a special occasion we received a small flute of sparkling wine each. The table next to us received this treatment but not our table on this occasion. Very disappointed since we told our friends to expect special treatment. Also upon arrival there was a meeting of staff happening in the dining room and we had to wait for our table. Otherwise the service was above average and the food was delicious. I recommend the squash soup. We had lobster, bass, and scallops - all excellently prepared.

    Have always wanted to visit the Coyote Cafe on our adventures to Santa Fe and it did not disappoint. The Mussel Posole was so delicious and a large portion. We shared the Elk Tenderloin and it was cooked perfectly, flavorful gravy and lovely presentation. We will be back!

    Try the elk! Absolutely delicious; the presentation was excellent. Service was impeccable; our waiter, Andy, made us feel welcome and was very informative about wine pairings and the food preparation. Ambience in the cafe part is very Santa Fe, not pretentious but very comfortable and pleasing.
