Place is beautiful, service was great and the food was good. Must go even if it’s just once. The details in this restaurant are absolutely amazing, old classy Spanish ambiance that makes you feel good.
Bes Father’s Day experience. Excelente service!
The Flamenco dancers were amazing. Wife had a great birthday.
Loved seeing the full menus, with salads and Mojitos made table side again. Must haves: Mojitos, 1905 salad, Spanish Bean soup and the White Chocolate Bread Pudding. But, everything is great!
What an amazing dining experience!! So glad we made the decision to go! Awesome food!
Nothing like the original- we’ve enjoyed Celebration and St. Augustine but Ybor is the best! Jodi and team were great!
Quickly seated within our reservation time, our servers were very friendly and attentive. The appetizer, entree, and dessert were all delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and was a delightful experience!
Love, Love, Love!
As always great food and excellent service
Overall great experience at the Columbia. This place never disappoints.
Always a pleasure to dine there. I have eaten there since 1948. The food is incredibly delicious. The service is flawless. My favorite restaurant.
We had a reservation at 7pm, and we weren’t seated until closer to 8pm. Our server took a long time between taking our orders and we had to call him over quite a bit.
This was a business meeting. I made reservations at 7:00; party was seated around 7:30.
Service was good, but very slow, as well.
Food was extremely salty.
Very different experience from location in St. Armand's.
Marvelous experience for our night celebrating my granddaughter’s birthday
It was absolutely wonderful! We went all out, we had a tapa, ensalada, entree and dessert - as well as two cocktails and coffee. We will definitely be back again!
John the manager was great...seating us early, due to the facts our plans changed..server was awesome,, and the desert was out of this world....
Excellent food at a great value! Perfect venue/atmosphere for a variety of occassions.
Great service, awesome sangria!
I booked dinner and a show on open table and called to confirm both the dinner and the show and was told everything was in order. When I got there, I was confused as to why we weren’t seated in the showroom and I was informed that shows weren’t available on the day of my reservation. I was never informed on this and extremely disappointed.
Great food as alsowqys but
Outstanding Spanish-Cuben fare in a classic, historic setting. A must-do stop in Tampa. Excellent, well-priced ceramic shop adjoining the premises allows you to purchase a nice souvenir of an outstanding meal.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food. Definitely recommend the salad and Shrimp & Yellow Rice. Make sure to get there to check out the shop that is attached, where you can buy the salad dressing to bring home!
Colunbia's is always a favorite place for special occasions and for taking out of town guests to dinner. The food is very good as is the service. I love the ambiance of Ybor City and the historic building that houses the restaurant. We went for a birthday dinner and were happy to have celebrated at Columbia's. The only complaint I have is the fact that the menu is currently much more limited due to the reduced staffing because of the COVID-18 pandemic. This is certainly understandable, and our server did relay to us that they are currently hiring and training new staff and will re-introduce more items when possible. So, I was not able to order my favorite dish (pampano), but I got the Mahi Mahi Cayo Hueso, and it was wonderful! So this turned out to be a good thing as I tried something new that I liked very much! The birthday celebrant was treated to a complimentary flan for dessert and was given a birthday card signed by several members of the staff. All in all, a lovely evening!
Really great overall experience! Wait staff was fantastic, food was excellent and the mojitos are not to be missed!!!
Great service and the food was excellent.
Other than the servers could not agree on whose table it was, things were great..
Has never missed being a satisfying meal done and served so professionally well. Everything IS delicious!
Ambience is nice! The bread is amazing! The Gambas and Paella is our favorite!
Great historic restaurant in Ybor City. Much more atmospheric than St. Armands location. Beautiful interior, great service, classic Cuban dishes.
Consistently one of the best places in Tampa to take out-of-town guests for a real experience. From the splendid and elaborate old world décor of this the oldest Spanish restaurant in North America ... to the sangria mixed at your table with flair... to the Cuban Bread and Gambas "Al Ajillo" ... to the Cuban Sandwich, grilled mahi-mahi or grouper "Jimmy" or roast pork "A la Cubana" ... to the churros "Tres Amigos" .. to service by tuxedo dressed waiters that is over the top, you can't go wrong dining here. Book early to avoid being disappointed.
The food was very good, however everything arrived at the same time. Salads, appetizer, and dinner plates. We barely had enough room on the table. The runner offered to take out dinner plates to the back until we were ready…. Uhh, no thanks. I like hot food. So that was pretty annoying. Otherwise, the experience was fine.
I can’t help but mention the women’s bathroom really needed attention: trashcan overflowing, toilet paper extremely low, soaked counters, and a bug or two. Okay it’s Florida, I know! As a native I get it, but doesn’t change that I don’t want to see live bugs inside. Dead is better because at least I know there’s some pest control at work. I got over it quickly because I wanted to enjoy our time out.
Yes, we will be back. These things did not deter us.
Excellent ambiance and food!! Good service! Always a treat!!
I was generous in giving two stars. With a reservation time of 1:30 pm, we were seated at 1:36 so far so good. We ordered two Cuban sandwiches and the 1905 salad, which seems simple enough as it is two of their menu staples.
It took forty minutes to get our food, at one point a young very polite gentleman came to our table to tell us how busy the kitchen was, mind you two sandwiches and a salad.
It did not take long after receiving our food to realize the wait was not worth it, The salad is advertised as crisp iceberg lettuce what we received was wilted lettuce we some brown edges. Cuban sandwiches that looked like a three-year-old constructed them, the menu says they are pressed but they were cold and dry. My sandwich had two inches of cheese hanging out one end that never came close to the heat.
A short time later the table next to us received their food which included a Cuban, within two bites the young man turned to his dad and stated this is terrible.
We finished our dinner with the white chocolate bread pudding and it was delicious, so they have that going for them.
So after tip, I was in for sixty dollars and a total time of two hours, yes two hours for sandwiches, salad, and dessert. Once we returned to our vehicle my wife and myself made the wise decision never to return. I said wise decision but really it was the logical decision.
Great food and atmosphere. Staff is friendly. Only issue is with reservations, had to wait a long time despite having a reservation. Authentic food
The Best food and Service
Great Customer Service and Delicious Food!!!!!!!!
Service and food were great! Located in Ybor, nice area.
The food was delicious. The sangria was made fresh at table and great as well. Absolutely loved the flamenco show! Highly recommend.
As always great food and drinks.
