Chops City Grill - Naples, FL Ratings and Reviews
Specifically asked the waitress to seat us at the front of the restaurant, and she told us that we would get a really great table and wait 10 minutes as they were crowded. I had asked this do to a hearing issue with one of the people with us. After waiting 25 minutes, even though we had a reservation, we were taken to a table at the back of the restaurant right next to the open kitchen. Needless to say, the person with us could not hear half the conversation as the noise was very loud!! Very disappointed as we always have a great time here as the food is outstanding.
Excellent steakhouse in the heart of Naples. Service was excellent and everything is made fresh per order. The 14oz filet was outstanding and cooked to perfection, and the pan seared black grouper with mushroom risotto and a sauce of screaming hot rock shrimp, lemon, garlic and white wine was equally outstanding and very filling. Although somewhat pricey, I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. The only drawback here is the noise level which is at least moderately loud. At times it was difficult to carry on a conversation at our own table.
Anthony is the best waiter anywhere. If you go ask to be seated in his area.
Hard worker and ultra professional!
The salads were just the right size.
The steaks were cooked to perfection.
The mushrooms were perfect compliment to the steaks.
The desserts excellent!
The 8 of us had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Chops.
Been going to Chops for years and years. Seems to get better and better. Service is terrific. Steaks are fabulous. But, mostly we love the vibe. Came year years ago when Naples was way more sleepy and places were shutting down by 8pm. Chops was still going strong. Still is!
We are filet people and last year during season they were the best in Naples and Marco. Went back anticipating the same quality but that did not hold true. Food was still good but we will still go back again and just see if it was a one time problem. Manager and server were great so we couldn’t see complaining because it was still good food, but not like last season.
We’re always greeted by name. Host goes out of his way to welcome and follow up. Our meals are never a disappointment. Cocktails were always great, Chops has changed the size of their glasses (smaller) and the taste isn’t quite the same. Hardly a reason to complain, but a disappointment to to perfect evening.
I’ve been dining at all the best (or so I thought) Naples fine restaurants for over four years now. For some reason I had overlooked Chops City Grill. What a mistake! This may well be the best restaurant in Naples. For sure, it is the best steakhouse in Naples. It has a great menu with some creative twists on classic steakhouse fare. Our server was very capable and very service oriented, despite being extremely busy on a busy night. Kudos to management at this establishment. Keep up the great work. I will be back!
Disappointed that there were no scheduled us Tivitt he‘s for New Year’s Eve. We booked a late dinner reservation for 930 and by the time dinner was over the restaurant was just about abandoned. Additionally we tried to increase our reservation by one person and Jules was adamant that we could not do so. We were seated at a very large booth and we actually could have had two more People seated at our table. We had to disappoint my mother-in-law and tell her we could not change our reservation. Jules was inflexible and adamant about not being able to add one person.
New Year's Eve was our first visit to Chops City Grille on 5th Avenue, and the restaurant met our expectations for a special occasion dinner in spite of the madness of the evening. Service was attentive, pleasant and unhurried. Our meals rivaled that of other steakhouses in town. Calamari, Shrimp and Crab cake was a creative assortment of tasty morsels and a good appetizer to share. Steaks were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The side dishes were excellent, the only criticism of the evening was that the loaded mashed potatoes were a little dry. The cheese selection was a perfect ending to the meal, though my wife would argue that the flourless chocolate cake was even better. Wine choices by the glass were excellent! We look forward to our next opportunity to dine at Chops.
We made an early reservation for dinner for New Years Eve. The service by our waitress “rock” was awesome. My wife is Gluten free and Rock custom designed our appetizer to meet the gluten free requirement. I had the filet and my wife had cedar plank salmon. Both were delicious! We had a bottle of Pinot noir and it was nice even though least expensive (still $52). We really enjoyed the dinner. We would go there again, although for a special occasion since the menu is pricey.
Arrived at 8pm. Ordered the meal at 8:15. Received the main dishes at 9:30. One hour and a half of waiting. Probably a world record of poor logistics. The meat were almost cold but we were so hungry that we preferred not to send everything back. Will no return soon.
Told we had a special table by the hostess. We were a party of 2 and our table was set in the middle of a cluster of large family tables. Noisy children so hardly special!
Asked medium steak eventually got one medium rare and one rare. This was accompanied with a big bowl of greens - well the bowl was big but the contents were not. Also flooded with balsamic. The baked sweet potato was nice though!
Very poor for what pretends to be a classy restaurant!
Service was terrible. Server didn’t put in my salad order. They brought the wrong entree for another person at our table. Took 20 minutes to get the correct one. We continued to follow up with staff to see how much longer it would be. Our server Jeff never apologized or came to check on us. He also took nothing off the bill. We know these places are busy and it can be difficult to manage. There were things in their control that could have made the experience better and they choose not to do it. We were extremely disappointed.
My wife and I have been to Chops twice and both times the service and food was fantastic. From the very beginning the experience was excellent. Everything we've had on the menu was very well good. And the recipes are also very unique - something to try with each visit. Highly recommend.
