Charley's Steak House is owned by the Woodsby family and has operated in Florida since 1974. Charley’s serves only three-year-old USDA prime and choice Angus steers, aging them four to six weeks for tenderness & flavor and hand-cutting the steaks daily to ensure consistent quality. The steaks are then flame-broiled over Florida citrus and oak wood in a custom-built pit at 1200º searing in the tantalizing taste that has made Charley’s the #1 steakhouse in America every year since 2007! It was out first visit to Charley’s and our waiter was phenomenal and answering all our questions and being entertaining and very responsive.
I had the 8 ounce filet with the huge shrimp and my boyfriend had the Waygu steak... they were cooked perfectly with amazing flavor and tenderness. Our salads and sides were amazingly flavorful!!
I had Pinot Grigio and he had crown infused with Apple that was out of this world and it is there in itself!
However, we did bring some of our leftovers home so that we could have room for an amazing dessert… I had the crème brûlée and he had the apple pie with whipped cream which was delicious!
We truly cannot say enough about how positive our experience was and the cost was less than we would’ve anticipated for all that we had.

We came to Tampa for our 25th Anniversary we are here from Long Beach CA, I found out about Charley online and enjoyed the reviews, so we book it.What a Great place everything was just as described, the Steaks awesome it was funny because the Beef was produced in Calif.but it was how it's prepared . Just delicious..thanks for being a part of our special night..

We were an eightsome first timers and we all thought the food was excellent . We came up from Fort Myers and it was well worth the drive. Recommend Charlies to all.

Excellent food with some unusual features, service superb, prices 5 star. First time I ever saw a Madagascar Shrimp, Chilean Sea Bass was larger serving than usual, steaks sized large but cooked to perfection.

Outstanding. We were going to a play at the Straz and did not want to drive because we were drinking. So, we Ubered to restaurant and we had left overs that we did not think we would be able to take with us because we did not have car and couldn’t take food to show. Joseph, our waiter, kept our left overs in the kitchen fridge until after the show, when we Ubered home pitstopping at Charley’s to pick them up. Charley’s and Joseph were wonderful and helped make the night spectacular!

As always, the steaks were great and the roasted cauliflower was to die for. First time having dessert there, though, and I can honestly say that it might have been the best Key Lime Pie I’ve had. Excellent meal over all!

Disappointed in the service. Felt rushed to order appetizers which appeared before our bottle of wine. Was given "the look" when I asked for more bread (kids loved it) and was told "I'll try, but I have other tables". We only asked once so I didn't think it was such a bother. Also, was nickel and dimed for everything! Prior weekend, went to Berns and felt the service was much more accommodating and the price was better for what we got.

This is definitely a place you will wait a while for food, but that is because it comes out tasting freash and perfectly cooked. Of corse it's expensive, but they have some of the best steaks we have ever had. How ever the only downside to my experience is that their shareable table side dishes were not all that great. But the steak is perfection.

My overall experience was good. However, my server Kem, spoke softly and very fast making it difficult to understand what choices she was presenting on the menu. Secondly, I asked to have my steak medium-well with little pink but it was not. It had to be sent back and placed on the grill again.

I also wish there was some soft music in the background, and they are a bit pricey.

Great for their steaks. The augratin potatoes were excellent. The escargot was also excellent. A must go to when in Tampa. The wait staff were very attentive. The restaurant has a very classic feel. Great people watching. Will go again.

When you order a $50 steak, you don’t expect it to have so much grizzle that you have to cut all around it! We were so disappointed with the steak, but our server was great and the overall experience was very nice. This is a great place to come on a business expense account!

Best steak in Florida, much less in Tampa Bay, bar none. The steak can almost be cut with a fork it is so tender and the smoky flavor needs nothing on top to enhance the flavor. The kale, tomato, mushroom and cauliflower sides are excellent. Their lobster grilled on the flames is also excellent. Only weakness is their ice cream.

Service was excellent. The novelty drinks were great in both taste and presentation. The wait Staff was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu items and could personally make recommendations from their own food experiences. The restaurant was full, but we did not feel rushed or neglected. We have dined here before and have always enjoyed the food and the experience overall. Thanks!

Overall experience was very good. I ordered the 24oz bone in Ribeye. Taste was good but it was undercooked. Ordered it medium and it was rare. Service was excellent as always.

I did love the food and atmosphere however my friend and I were trying to catch up and talk, the servers have way too much involvement with the diners. We didn't want to be rude but we had to ask the server to curb all the chitter chatter about the food and how it is prepared! We appreciate it but I just want it on my plate! lol! so I cannot recommend for a business meeting or a quiet conversation because we didn't get a chance to speak to each other with all the interaction the server is required to give. Maybe the diners can be asked if they want a breakdown/presentation of the entire meal 1st then it can be a nice evening for everyone and we don't have to feel bad for shutting the server down

Anyone who knows me knows this is hands-down my favorite restaurant of all time. I sometimes make up excuses for occasions to go to Charleys because I just love it so much. Best steak ever and so is everything else. The staff treats everyone equally and is so friendly and good at what the do. Can't wait for my next visit!
