The food and drinks are always amazing and the service is impeccable. Everyone at the restaurant is friendly.
"Shortage of staff" we were warned in advance and they were really busy, but we were not in a hurry and the food was worth the wait! One of my favorite restaurants in town and it has been for 20 years!!!
Was delicious 20 years ago and still delicious!
Excellent service and food! Thank you.
I'm glad to see that the quality of the food at Carmines is back up near where it used to be. Also, the service was outstanding and I always love the ambiance there.
Excellent restaurant, perfect for a date night!
Girls night out. We shared Caesar salad, fungi pasta and stratoprezi ( not sure I have that right). Everything was wonderful and the service was excellent.
Food was delicious and our server was very cordial. The “downside” was we waited for several items, service was a little slow, and prices a little high (but just for the Caesar salad at $17 for two of us!); however, we know that restaurants are facing some challenges as we all get back on our feet as the pandemic turns a corner. Just saying that it is what it is, we weren’t surprised, and we’ll be back, supporting & enjoying being back in Denver restaurants.
We enjoyed dining on the patio. It was a beautiful night. Food and service were excellent.
Great service and menu but the food itself is good not great. Still I would go back
great food. great company.great service. drawbacks- celebrating a special occasion but seated near a table of loud self absorbed business men. not sure how to best navigate that.
We have been going to Carmine’s since the later 90’s. In the last 7-8 years the quality and quantity of food has gone down. It’s sad to see one of our favorite restaurants decline. The staff are still exceptional.
Eric was an amazing server and we had a blast with him all night. The food was amazing and the wine was fantastic! We're looking forward to our next visit already.
Our server Aaron (sp?) Was very helpful and gave us fantastic recommendations. This was the perfect family dinner, we'll be back soon!
Food was delicious and the price point was even better. Now I see why they've been around for 27 years!
I’ve been to Camines several times before but this time I felt the food was better than ever! Love the garlic rolls and Caeser salad. I think in years past the salad had more garlic but still a great salad. Looking forward to going again. Parking a little challenging but doable and worth it.
We let the waiter pick our family style dishes and it was a nice surprise. Would highly recommend!
Great food but portion sizes are confusing and misleading. Some dishes are massive and some are way too small. A ravioli dish we got that was advertised for two people only had six pieces of ravioli, meanwhile our friends ordered a different pasta dish for two and they had plenty plus enough for leftovers. Definitely not enough for a meal and we would have appreciated a warning or heads up from our waiter. Overall though the food was great and we hope to come back now that we know what to expect.
The food was not worth the price. One pasta dish was not cooked completely and pasta was still hard. (4) out of the 6 of us at dinner got sick that evening after eating. Great location but food quality has really gone down hill.
We have been coming here for @20 years. Always best to bring a big crew, get a big table, pass around the family size plates of Italian food. Great sauces. Great variety. Change can be distressing, and we won't speak of the 'new' spinach salad vs. the 'old' one, but everything else was grand. Best Italian restaurant in Denver.
We’ve been going to Carmine’s for past 20+ years and it’s always consistently great. Eggplant parm and Shrimp Calabrese were our favorites. Feels so good to dine out and enjoy great food and service
Hostess was rude , staff wasn’t especially friendly , food wasn’t as good as it has been in the past .
I made the reservation with a note that it was a 30th birthday celebration. I told the female hostess when we arrived to please tell our waiter. The waiter never acknowledged the birthday-I had to ask him. He also wasn't attentive. Didn't check back on food. We told him that we wanted to order wine with dinner. He never came back for that request. We had to ask a bus boy to find him to order the wine-this was after our food arrived. We have been coming to Carmine's for the past 20 years for a variety of family celebrations. This time was a big disappointment based on the service.
Carmine's food is always great! Lots of choices to please everyone. Friendly atmosphere and attentiv service without being intrusive. Made for a great evening.
We ate in their outdoor area. It was cool. The food was excellent. The server was especially helpful, friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. This is, and has been, a really good restaurant.
Our server was genuinely concerned about guiding our group of six through the menu. He helped us the right amount of food while getting a variety of flavors and textures. Everyone in our group agreed it was the best Italian food they had in a long time. Recommend mussels, salad, pasta, gnocchi, and veal marsala. Reasonably priced, good wine. We'll return.
Most delicious ragu with mushrooms!
Not the carmine's of yesteryear. Staff was inpatient (borderline rude), no very helpful with figuring out how to accommodate vegetarian mixed with non- vegetarian diners - the only solution was for the one vegetarian to order an entire entree. Find it difficult to believe that a pasta dish with meat could not be made in such a way that some of the pasta could have been set side before adding the protein. My take is that the server did not want to be bothered -and- pushed us to ordering a third entree (for one person) just to inflate the check. Has been a couple years since we've dined at Carmine's - given this experience, it will likely be our last. There are too many great restaurants in Denver these days - especially ones that are guest centric. Could have overlooked the hefty check if the food was spectacular. It was mediocre, at best.
The staff was professional and friendly and the food was excellent. The outdoor patio was very pleasant, especially since the street is blocked off from traffic.
As always, Carmine's is awesome! Delicious food...great staff...wonderful atmosphere!
We always enjoy Carmine. The sausage was really over cooked this time. Other than that food was great!
Incredible meal, wonderful to celebrate an occasion!!
I've been to Carmine's before and usually love it, but was disappointed this time.
Went with the portions for 2 but honestly, they weren't very big. Much better prices and portions at other comparable restaurants. Also my boyfriend ran out of water (his only drink) and no one noticed. Quality seems to have decreased. Maybe it's only good if you go in a large group.
It was great
Good food and service
Very pleased with our experience at Carmines. We’ll certainly be inclined to visit again.
Eric was wonderful. The food was great. We'll be going back again!
West Wash Park was my stomping ground back in 2009-2013, and I always loved treating visitors to an authentic Italian experience at Carmine's on Penn and felt it was a Denver institution. It was my husband's birthday yesterday, so I made reservations for us, our teenagers and his father. The ambiance remains wonderful. The wine is lovely (however, the server was not well versed in their wine offerings or able to make recommendations), but the food was lacking from what I recalled years ago. The bread (a staple to an Italian dinner) was dry and never refilled. The chicken piccata and chocolate cake were both a bit dry as well. And, the tiramisu was swimming in a cream sauce that took away from the authentic presentation. I was sad to see an old standby restaurant decline. I will say, our teenage son eat everything that we didn't, so there's that.
We had a great time. Great food, loved our waiter. Every thing was awesome!
