Rosemary marinated chicken with fresh asparagus and sun-dried tomatoes in a gorgonzola cream sauce
Artichoke hearts, portobello mushrooms, and spinach in a pomodoro sauce
A pound of PEI mussels in a seasonal broth
Our waitress made the evening. She was attentive and super friendly and had a good sense of humor.
We felt the food was just ok.
Our artichoke appetizer was cold and was supposed to be hot. (We were comped for this) Meals just average.
I believe we would not go again, would try somewhere else.
Wonderful atmosphere and exceptional service! This was a great experience for our group!
Things are always a bit more challenging with a big group and we had 8. Our server had a few tables to look after so drink orders were a little slow happening. The restaurant was also a bit noisier than usual which caused our group to be louder too. Overall food was good and our group had a great time.
So so good! Of course you need a lot of people as it's served family style!
Good food quality.
Food was great as usual however, service of the food took too long. The restaurant was not crowded. Parking is a disaster. Take an Uber and do your self a favor even if you live within 15 minutes.
This is my absolute favorite Italian spot in Denver! I have been going for 13+ years with no intention of stopping...ever. It's SO DELICIOUS!
Carmine’s is a old favorite that has stood the test of time! I was at Carmine’s a lot back in “the day”. That’s been at least 25 years ago. I am so glad Carmines is still around. If you want good Italian this is the place to go. The food is delicious, and our waiter was outstanding!
We've been dining at Carmine's on Penn since it opened 1994. Food and service were always outstanding. We visited with a party of 8 for a celebration after not having eaten at the restaurant for several years. Food portions were plentiful as always but not quite up to par in quality and taste. Service was okay, but on the slow side. Not sure we'll be returning in the near future, as there are many family style Italian restaurants in the Denver area that have seemingly left Carmine's behind.
Our server Shae was great!!!
Always a fantastic experience at Carmine’s. We had a lovely date night. Great wine, great food, great service. Thank you!
Minor issues with order
Carmine’s on Penn was absolutely wonderful. Between the service and the quality of food we had a great and memorable experience
SO GOOD! Hadn't been in several years, and I almost forgot how great the food and service are. We will be returning soon!
What a grand evening w friends. Perfect food. Wonderful service. Lovely wine! So glad we went to Carmine’s. Unpretentious & perfect.
Always reliable Italian spot. This last visit was a bit of a letdown. The food seems just a little less enjoyable. Certainly, still good, but a little less so. Atmosphere and service were still excellent. Always food to bring home, making for a nice next day.
Lovely local Italian restaurant with wonderful food! Definitely would recommend and eat there again!
One of our very favorite places to eat and to take guests.
Haven’t been in 25 years and didn’t disappoint!! Amazing service!
This place was such a disappoint me. Our server was rude and ignored us most of the time we were there. If it wasn’t for the lovely girl who filled our water glasses we felt totally unattended. Atmosphere was jam-packed and seemed way over crowded. Our table backed onto a large table of 8 (with four little kids) who were seated the same time we were. Kids were moderately well behaved but it was a huge circus with them climbing over us every time they left the table (often). Food was uninspired. The vegetarian pasta di funghi had meat in it and the bolognese was served icy cold but tasted great. Server called us liars when we said a vegetarian would have not ordered a veal dish. Awful. We will never be back. Hint to restaurant - promote water girl and fire nasty server.
Dinner with friends I have not seen in about a year!
Delicious!! Had the gnocchi and chicken marsala. Would highly recommend.
Everything was fantastic-from the food, to the service. Food is very authentic, this restaurant is a must whenever you’re in the area
Delicious food, excellent food, an overall fun experience. My only complaint is we were told “no” to an outside seating request, then watched tables on the patio sit empty for our entire meal.
Really delicious food! An appetizer and a sharing plate was perfect for two of us. We got a bottle of wine, an appetizer, a shared entree and dessert all for under $100. We liked that it was open air as well. Good date night!
We had noted that we were celebrating a birthday, and the waitress did mention it at the start of dinner. We ordered two desserts, they came back and said they had run out of the desserts. We were just paying our bill and then she brought out one dessert and said I found this one someone canceled it. Then she said I’m going to need to take your bill back to add that dessert. Really? We’re celebrating a birthday and you don’t even give a complementary dessert, after telling us you were totally out of desserts and giving us our bill, you couldn’t comp one dessert? The food was good but that kind of ruined the experience for me.
I have been going to Carmine's On Penn for over 20 years. The service and food are always great!
we had a great time - excellent food and great service.
Carmine's was my neighborhood restaurant when I lived in the area. It was wonderful to return and see how the classic menu items are still there alongside new items which offer familiar flavors to try. We sat at the bar and appreciated the attentiveness we received from Logan, who was tending bar. As drink orders came in, Logan made sure our needs we're met as we watched expert mixology at work. It is a neighborhood gem (even when your neighborhood is miles away) for small and large groups!
Absolutely delicious as always. Our favorite Italian in Denver!
Great overall experience, other than when we got there early, we were the only ones there, and they had to seat a huge table of 10 right next to us, even though the rest of the restaurant was empty, somewhat annoying. Our server was was great, except I had to sit and wait over 5 minutes before I could start my meal, because I had wanted another glass of wine to have with it, and she had vanished.
Service was great !! Food was great.!!!! We have been there many times and always have great service.
Staff was great and food was excellent!
Great food, top-shelf professional staff and service, wonderful variety on the menu from which to choose, and cohesive teamwork between all. What more could anyone ask of a great restaurant and team?
This has to be not only the best Italian Food restaurant in Denver, but one of the best restaurants in Denver period ! The food is over the top excellent, the service is superb, and the portions are huge ! I love this place.
favorite Italian in Denver
It was absolutely wonderful until they asked that we leave the table because we had been there too long. I would have understood except that there were a lot of open tables— really left a bad taste in our mouths. So unfortunate.
our favorite Italian restaurant. chicken marsala, garlic noodles, house salad, fab wine and delicious cheesecake! wonderful anniversary dinner! and it's great on any night!
Great place. Great food. Great service
Excellent food and service, highly recommend this restaurant.
