Food is served family style which we love (as a large family). Flavors are great and enjoy the outdoor patio seating.

Everything was great. The only critiques I would make is that they list strozzapreti, which is a type of twisted pasta, as an entree, but they give it a completely different meaning which is a spicy sausage and peppers dish, so that was misleading. Also, I don't like restaurants that put in a "for the kitchen" tip automatically. I take this right off the total tip.

The seasonal ravioli had crab in it. I think it was the favorite dish of the night. We were there for a 60th bday party and the chocolate cake was underwhelming. It was very loud. The service was incredible.

Our family dinner of 8 people was so good. Service was exceptional. Family style entrees are large portions; you won't go home hungry. The recipes are old world and delicious. If you like fine Italian dining Carmines is highly recommended.

Another great meal! Wish they had just a little music playing as it is creepy quiet at times. Highly recommend eating here

Our "Dinner Group" recently dined at Carmines. The entree and salad were tasty and just the right portion size for the five of us. We had started our "Progressive Dinner" at my house on Penn. with wine and apps. We enjoyed the salad and two entrees at Carmines. Dessert later at my house. The food and service were excellent . The noise level was....too much.... especially since three of our friends wear hearing aides and couldn't process much of our table conversation. We arrived at six and by the time we left the noise level was lower as was the number of diners. A couple of our party stopped by the bathroom before leaving and commented on the VERY HEAVY door to the BR. Overall...a good dinner and good service at a reasonable price at a neighborhood institution.

We had a fun family meal with our teens. The service and ambiance were very nice. We had the Caesar salad which was a bit spicy/vinegary or too much dressing to my taste and shared the chicken montana and spaghetti bolognese. It’s a nice concept and a bit different to have family style so we enjoyed it. We could have had a table on the covered outside area but couldn’t agree so sat inside.
