Went with people that had not been there before and was quite a delightful experience. I had only been for weddings so was kind of a new experience for myself as well ;) The lamb, duck and veal cheeks and Creme brûlée were very delicious dishes. I’d definitely recommend them. The service was also amazing. I will be back to try the surf n turf and carrot cake :)

Our server Erica was wonderful! Went for wine and light supper, so only had a few starters. The prawns were unbelievably good and charcuterie board was a nice accompaniment to our wine. Lovely evening

The new owners have done a great job of keeping the ambience without the arrogance that was there. Great job and great food.

Salad was excellent

Main Meat and fish were very good.

Veggies were way over cooked and blah.

Its a great place with lovely food. The best part is the freshness of the food and the very light seasoning - which let you experience the original & natural taste of the ingredients yet it’s still flavourful and harmonious. As well the wood cabin ambience and the beautiful scene of fish creek park is definitely a bonus. I think this place is underrated, it deserves a 4.5 out of 5 ;)

It was our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious. It was very noisy-there we’re a couple very loud tables and the sound really bounces off the ceiling and floor. Our server was attentive and took good care of us.
The coffee wasn’t very good.

Great place, however a bit on the loud side. Some sound dampening in the restaurant would be helpful. Casual conversation gets lost in the noise.

First time here. Was not disappointed and everyone enjoyed the food immensely! Everything (appetizers, mains & dessert) was absolutely delicious and surprisingly decent portions for fine dining! Excellent value for your dollar all around. Service was terrific and was impressed they treated the one child (age 11) in our party as his own person rather than bypassing him as if he didn't exist. Helped make his evening too! The "Happy Birthday" chocolate notes on the desserts were a nice subtle touch to acknowledge the birthday's being celebrated without making a show to the whole restaurant. Atmosphere/ambiance was great too! Classy yet comfortable & non-pretentious. Would highly recommend Bow Valley Ranche to anyone looking for a special evening out or enjoy some different menu options beyond beef & chicken as the elk (appetizer), duck (appetizer & entree), lamb sirloin & veal cheeks were outstanding!

We had our friend visiting from New York and Bow Valley Ranche was the perfect historical spot to show her. She loved the wild game experience and the steak tenderloin was a really good representation for Calgary.

Really great food and service here is always 5 stars. If you're sitting in the small adjoining rooms, it's a far more intimate experience than the large dining area. The decor is unique and detailed, as is the meal. I highly recommend dining here.

We had an amazing time - great food, great service, and amazing ambiance. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly but not intrusive. The menu is awesome and the staff was accommodating as we wanted to shake things up and do like a tapas night with appetizers.

Went for brunch at 10:45 only to be told it was only available on weekends. Which was a bit confusing as we were given both lunch and brunch menus. When it is a long weekend there should be the option to order off the brunch menu.

Service was good but a pretty slow, especially since we were one of only three tables there.

I would have enjoyed it more had the service been good. The waiter serving us was extremely slow. It took over half an hour to order, he forgot my drink, didn't place our dessert order before serving others and I had to go up to get our bill because we got fed up of waiting. The other waiters and waitresses were bang on with their tables but he was sooooooooo slow.

Food and service was very good. It is however time for a good spring cleaning. Lights , fans and ceiling structures were very dusty and a little distracting. Waiters were very attentive. It took quite a long time to receive our food but that gave us more time to visit and that was O.K.

This restaurant really let me down. My wife and I took a quick weekend trip to Calgary for our 10th anniversary. After reading reviews on the Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant, I thought it would be the perfect spot for our romantic dinner. They were accommodating to our last minute reservation, which was nice. But that was about as good as it got for us. Our server seemed to be annoyed with us, almost as if our presence was unwanted for the entire meal. To start, I ordered a cocktail and my wife ordered a soda water. We also ordered soup as an appetizer. I received my cocktail but before we were even settled in, our soup was brought. I quickly finished my cocktail, so I could eat the soup. It was good but nothing you couldn't make at home with limited cooking know-how. We ordered our dinner which was a shared surf and turf. The waitress asked if we were going to have wine with dinner but seemed very annoyed we weren't ordering a bottle. I told the waitress my wife cannot drink but she still snatched the drink menu away without much of a word. Our dinner quickly came and once again, it was good but nothing you couldn't make at home. The meat was cooked well, but it was served with what tasted like a packaged gravy. There were a couple small shrimp, a couple mussels, a couple scallops and some roasted vegetables. The main flavour component was salt and pepper. At this point I noticed that other people celebrating were brought a complimentary dessert. I crossed my fingers since the hostess asked us previously if we were celebrating anything. We weren't as lucky as the others, unfortunately. Anyway, the entire meal lasted about an hour and 15 minutes, which isn't much of an outing. For a $40 to $50 entree, I expect top notch service and a culinary experience. Alas, all I got was a sad wife and a long drive back to the hotel.
