Upon arrival at the farm, you'll be greeted with hors d’oeuvres and aperitif at our historic farmstead. Before dinner, guests may explore the restored, historic farm buildings, grain mill, and working organic farm or find a private spot to relax.
For added safety, you will have private, well-distanced tables on the patio and gardens with limited service. The farm hosts two through eight friends or family per table. You will enjoy three courses based on the day's harvest. Tomatoes still warm from the sun, tender-crisp lettuces, and heritage pork or lamb roasted over plum wood embers are some of the flavors that await. Wines from our award-winning list, as well as craft beer selections, are available by pre-order delivery. Following the meal, take in the breathtaking mountain views while they enjoy dessert and a stroll under the stars or by the nightly bonfire.

Having transitioned to the farm for all service (while the restaurant is closed for dine-in), we were treated to a fantastic farm dinner experience for the cost of a dine-in at the restaurant. The food was all spectacularly prepared and thoughtfully presented. The service was kind and attentive. Overall a great experience!

This might be one of the best meals I have ever enjoyed! Beautiful setting, attentive service, and the chefs tasting menu with wine pairing that was amazing. Every course was delicious and they were also willing and able to accommodate my dietary restrictions (rare when having a set tasting menu). It is an investment, quite expensive, but it is worth it. Go and enjoy this farm to table dining experience for a special occasion. You will not be disappointed.

One of Boulder's most outstanding restaurants, especially if you value local organic fresh food and humane pastured meats. Staff are attentive, patient and knowledgeable. Wine choices are thoughtful pairings with menu. Presentations are gorgeous and food is creative without being pretentious. A welcome quiet respite for conversation, with views of the chefs creating in the kitchen. 5 stars!

We had an incredible dinner and birthday celebration. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed everything but particularly loved the charcuterie and cheese platter. The tasting menu was also very good. We had a wonderful time there, and had the bonus of sitting in a great little booth.
We only go here for special occasions, and have been here several times in the last few years. We like to order the chef's tasting menu, as you get "surprised" by what the chef has prepared. We were disappointed this time. The food was good, even very good at times, but with a total of 3 drinks and the tasting menu for two, the bill came to $250 plus tip. For that rate, everything should have been exquisite, not just very good. In addition, they take a team approach to serving, meaning you get about 6 different people at your table throughout the night, which we found jarring. Finally, there was too long of a gap between courses. The entire meal took 2.5 hours. We left disappointed, and sadly realized we won't be back.
You don’t get a review until you finish your plate. I’ve eaten at the black Cat on more than a few occasions. Always 5 stars in every category. If your lucky enough to go. Order the chef’s selection with the wine pairing you will not be disappointed. My wife is a vegetarian and I do not eat dairy. Let your waiter know your restrictions and they will accommodate your needs.
Shh... The Black Cat remains one of the relatively little known gems on the Boulder food scene. Looking for a cozy intimate place to snuggle up with your loved one and not be subjected to the noise and crowds of all the trendy places? Take a few a steps off the mall and stop in the Black Cat. The food is excellent, the wine selections great, the service is warm and friendly and the ambiance is just right. Best of all, you can actually have a conversation and be heard without having to raise your voice.

Very good, but a bit overrated for the price. The tasting menu had several items that were sublime, but others missed the mark.
We had a terrible experience. Service/food was very slow. We sat down at 8, didn’t get entrees until 930. They served my husband the entirely wrong meal and had to remake so we ended up just having to get it to go because by that point it was 10:15. We also loved the farm to table element of the restaurant but long explanations of every single ingredient was overkill. Bummed because the overall ambience and vibe was great. But food just wasn’t worth it.

Best Boulder dinner we've had in a while! Chef's tasting menu was varied and flavorful, paired with wines it was fabulous. The sommelier had great knowledge and enthusiasm for telling the story of each wine. We really enjoyed the chef's visit and farm stories. All the staff were engaging without being overbearing. Will definitely return.
No proper substitution. If you do not like anything in the four course meal their idea of substitution is to give you a bit more mushroom. This is my 2nd visit and my last.

Returned to Black Cat for anniversary after our first experience there 5 years prior. Menu offering was very appealing and love their farm to table ethos. And complimentary glass of their sparkling wine for our occasion was a nice touch.
Service was experience was OK. Our server was very pleasant but for apps we were brought two starters (we debated between the two) instead of the one requested. Asked to split a pre-dinner glass of wine and was brought two full glasses instead. Both cases these were still added to bill after we raised the point.
Food was good. My wife had bison 2 ways which was delicious. I had sausage stuffed quail which came out too salty and overdone.
Overall a good, not great experience. Maybe it was an off night since past experience was solid.
Everything was just delightful. One member of our group had dietary restrictions and wasn’t sure she could have the Chef’s Tasting Menu like the rest of us. Well, the chef accommodated and our friend was delighted. We would totally recommend this restaurant. We have been there several times and never been disappointed.
