Daily pairing menus give our sommeliers ample opportunity to dip into the 400+ selection cellar. The restaurant's wine list places the great wines of the world side-by-side with small, off-the-beaten-path producers from lesser-known regions.
Hand-crafted, seasonal cocktails featuring artisanal spirits & local ingredients show the talent of our professional mixologists who make our bar spring to life.

Had a great birthday dinner here. We did the tasting menu and explained that we could not eat diary or grains. They provided us with a delicious local seasonal set of plates.
Not just a great dinner but an experience. The chef's menu with the wine selection is amazing, and presented friendly, with care and attention. Great ambiance, welcoming, wonderful hosts.
I can't say enough about how fantastic the service and food was at Black Cat. The lamb and Colorado bass were amazing and the cocktails were done to perfection. Megan really made our evening special- thank you again!
We were given a gift certificate to Black Cat as a present, and the experience was above and beyond expectations.
One of my favorite Boulder highhend restaurants - always fantastic
Since we were a group of 6 we were required to all participate in the tasting menu. Even though I had called earlier to confirm that we could do ala carte and tasting at the same table. We chose our own wines, and the selection was very good. However, we all felt the food was uninspiring. 2 bites per plate, except the yummy dessert, the bony fatty lamb, and overly salted scallop. The selection appeared to be whatever was leftover in the kitchen. $87 per person for disappointing food a total 18 bites....seems excessive. Our servers were charming and attentive.
Outstanding experience from drinks at the bar served by Griffin, the bartender, to our excellent dinner served by Sarah.
Amazing meal and great service. A fabulous way to enjoy Thanksgiving. Chef owner sharing about his farming knowledge made the experience even more enjoyable. Eric is a great guy and so generous with his time table-side. Makes it really wonderful to support a local business owner like this. I always learn things about food from him and they are unbelievably accommodating about my long list of food allergies. So appreciate this!
Family gathering from 4 different states to celebrate Thanksgiving. Chef Eric and his staff out did themselves to make an amazing holiday dinner - so many options that included home favorites as well as twists that kept the home-iness while elevating the presentation and flavor. Service was friendly and prompt. We will be back!
Thanksgiving - divinely inspired... fabulous marriage of flavors & freshness... smiling staff... perfect ambiance. Yum. Yum. Yum.
I love Black Cat! The experience is beyond rating. When something is good, you just know it and Black Cat is fundamentally good in all the ways a restaurant should be. But it’s more than that...it’s in a league if it’s own.
I had the time of my life.
Did the tasting menu and premium wine option and the whole experience was divine.
The food and wine were meant for each other and every bite and sip delighted my senses.
I will be back.
My wife and I have eaten in many fine restaurants in many different countries and this is our favorite. The food and wine pairings on the chef’s menu are off the charts. The service is seamless and obviously well planned and well orchestrated. The entire staff is involved in your evening and-to top it all off- the owner/chef has visited our table every time we have been there. When we head to Boulder from our home in Colorado Springs we call Blackcat first. If there is no availability, we just might change our plans.
Beautiful restaurant w wonderful, legit farm to table approach. Unfortunately, service was very slow despite a largely empty restaurant. One guest complained lamb was unremarkable and some vegetables overcooked. My bison dish and salad were excellent. Wine list is fantastic.
Oh my, this was stupendous! Top notch food and service without feeling pretentious and stuffy. The most fabulous wine list you can imagine and fresh local ingredients make this an outstanding choice. A wonderful special occasion place. Every bite was delicious, and the staff even offered up some little treats and tastes beyond what we ordered. Quite possibly the best meal I have had in many years. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Best dining experience we’ve had in Boulder. It’s the perfect place for a special occasion or to treat yourself to an epic meal!
We had a wonderful evening to celebrate a family birthday. Designer cocktails were innovative and delicious, as well as a Mocktail for our teenager. The tasting menu was welled planned for each course which was a surprise leading into the next one. And we were served one extra course that was delicious. Since this was a special occasion we selected the Premium wine tasting that not only matched the food but was nicely explained by the sommelier. Superb food, wine, food and service
One of the best meals I have ever had. Do the chef's tasting menu. You won't be disappointed!
We had a party of 6 adults for a special occasion and the server was very attentive, friendly and knowledgable. We chose the premium wine pairing and the sommelier was fantastic and interesting! What a wonderful treat.
Our party included 2 younger people who were treated with respect and offered appropriate kid foods.
Overall one of our favorite restaurants.
this was one of the best restaurants i have been to and we are foodies. love the farm to table & careful attention to dietary needs. the sommelier is fantastic and the meal was better after each bite. i highly reccomend joining them for a wonderful dining experience.
We dined at the true farm-to-table restaurant for a birthday celebration; I'm pescatarian and my beau is an omnivore. We ordered the tasting menu and it was fantastic! Whatever your dietary needs/preferences, the chefs will create a delicious journey for you. You can just sit back, relax and let the friendly staff take care of you!
We had the tasting menu with traditional wine pairings. Despite a few stand out courses we found our meal to be overpriced and received some really strange wine pairings.
- A dessert white with the 2nd course
- A really bold red with a light scallop dish
Also, for a place that markets itself hard as farm to table we were surprised when 2 of our 5 tasting menu courses were seafood, 1500mi from the ocean. We would have much rather seen local fish or meat highlighted.
The biggest disappointment was the price point. If you are going to charge Michelin star prices (have had several 1 star tasting menus that were less expensive, and more expansive) then I expect commensurate commitment to consistency and quality.
Staff were excellent and attentive but overall did not feel we received value for money.
Went for an anniversary and found it to be a great choice. I have been so disappointed with eating out as of late, but was not disappointed here.
The chef's blind tasting menu with their wine pairing is always such a treat. I've never had a more exciting, attentive, and delicious dining experience. Will always come back when I'm in town!
Best foie gras I’ve ever had! Thought I had some good ones before but this blew my mind. Can’t wait to go back for the tasting menu.
Absolutely stunning meal and service. Always a wonderful experience. The wine list is impressive and sommelier knowledgeable. Parings were spot on.
Fantastic restaurant for celebrating a special event. We particularly enjoyed the tasting menu. The food was very good, wine pairing was exceptional, and the service was excellent.
My only suggestion - and I mean this seriously - is that Black Cat should turn away diners if they show up dressed like they’re going to watch a soccer game. This is a fine restaurant and seeing guests in baseball hats detracts from the experience of celebrating something special with your partner. A simple dress code would go a long way.
Thank you for the wonderful evening and service.
Very enjoyable dinner at Black Cat. Noise level allowed for easy conversation. Food was very good but not over the top. Service was excellent.
We had the chef's menu with the premium wine pairing.
The atmosphere was perfect, food was delicious, but the wine pairings were not worth the $$.
A white wine, 2 sweet wines, a CA old vine and Beaujolais.
Seriously, a Beaujolais?
Not what I'd expect under the premium package.
Came here to celebrate a promotion. We had never been to Black Cat, so we did not know what to expect, aside from glancing over the short menu online beforehand. I ordered the Lamb, and it was nothing short of legendary. Every bite was incredible.
Our service was also nothing short of spectacular as well. We will definitely come back for our next special occasion!
Fantastic experience - Storm the bartender was a great server as well
My husband and I did the chef's choice multiple course dinner with the wine pairing. Great food, very knowledgable servers and sommelier. Beautiful presentation and great experience. Highly recommend and look forward to going back.
Had an excellent 6 course meal in a sitting that allowed wonderful conversation. Wait staff very knowledgeable about the each course and the wine that went with the course.
Love the fact that it is all organic farm-to-table! However, the food was just ok and very expensive for what it was IMHO.
Drinks outstanding. Food good. Service slow with long periods of no attention
First time to visit Black Cat. Loved every bit of what we were served. A well done martini and a well-paired recommended tempranillo for my entree. The moderately dense brown bread and olive oil were excellent. My appetizer was a foie gras preparation that I thought tasted like a fabulous ginger snap. My entree was the duo of beef. The flavors were great and the large pieces of parmesan gave the savory beef a great blend of flavors and textures.
Another amazing dinner at Black Cat. Farm-to-Table perfected. Of course we had the tasting menu again. Everything was outstanding--the multiple dishes, the paired wines and the exemplary service in a intimate setting just off the Boulder Pearl St. Mall. The serving staff's descriptions of the food and wine are an unforgettable part of the experience. Expensive but definitely worth it.
We were disappointed in the food, expectations were high, but the food was only OK, not really living up to the hype. We also felt somewhat ignored since both neighboring tables were being served and catered to before we were, though they were seated later. I am glad we went, we may go back for a special occasion with friends, but it was overpriced for regular visits.
I think there was only one option which was the Chef's menu but no other options. Very expensive for the type of restaurant and food in my opinion.
