The bittersweet team has an artisanal approach to hand crafted, playful and artfully created food that is not only grounded in fundamental culinary techniques but our verve for the Avant Garde. We make everything we can in-house using the best possible ingredients. By sourcing from local farms and fisheries, and partnering with those who take our same care and approach to their own harvesting and herding—we offer food that is fresh, seasonal and artisanal.
Bittersweet’s wine and cordial list have been hand selected to pair with both our cuisine as well as create the same interesting combinations found in our food. We feature and ever changing wine, beer and cocktail lists as well as spirits that represent both local companies and quality craftsmanship.

Food was SO good. Delicious. Portions are fairly small. Service was great. Really cozy space-small and sort of rustic. Menu has a french bent to it, which I’m a huge fan of. Foie gras was so good. Short rib also amazing. Salmon great. Lamb meatballs and veggie garden app interesting and yummy. Loved the food. Final bill was high but we had lots of wine. Will go back!
Might be the best meal I have had since moving to Denver from LA 11 years ago.
Lovely interior, simple but well executed food.
Amazing tasting menu. The service is also excellent. Attention to detail on food and drinks. It is my new favorite place in Denver!
Great food. Kind of noisy, but it was New Year’s Eve
Wonderful! We just absolutely love this intimate spot.
Several of my quests are vegan and your menu fell short. Otherwise, everyone commented on the freshness and taste of the food. Also, wine selection was superior. We also ate at Bon Ami and between the two, we liked Bon Ami best. That said, you have a fine establishment.
Our experience at Bittersweet was exceptional. The food was creative and flavorful. The ambiance was warm and inviting. Service was top.
The front dining room was a bit cold though, which interfered with our comfort.
One word of advice to future diners: plan to spend a LOT. Our meal for two people was $280. The portions are very small, so you must order a starter, entre, and dessert. My husband's rib was substantial enough for him. But my scallops dish had 3 scallops. Very good but not filling.
If you know about the portions and are willing to pay, this is a good restaurant.
We brought a big group. Food was great. Service too. They ran out of one entree but I take that as a good sign. We will be back.
Great service and unique wine selections
Excellent food and service.
Love this small restaurant.
Always love going to this quaint and quiet restaurant with outstanding food and service.
Absolutely amazing!!! Food was so delightful and staff was wonderful.
Excellent food and amiable and efficient service. Bartender is very knowledgeable and imaginative as well. In good weather, there are two nice patios for outdoor eating. Highly recommended.
Delicious food and very nice service. In comparison to other restaurants, it was expensive.
In particular, the wine list was pretty narrow and very pricey.
Would appreciate more 30 and 40$ wine options.
There were two extremely loud tables that limited our conversation;
we were pleased when they left.
Amazing date night dinner. The service was pro.pt and efficient. The wine although a bit pricey by the glass was on a menu with a reasonable amount of selections. The small plate incredibly yummy full of flavor and had numerous layers. The main course was cooked to perfection and perfect portion. Dessert with french press coffee sealed the night. We would come back on another special occassion.
Everything was amazing! Delicious dishes I wish we could have everything on the menu. romantic ambiance for a date or special occasion
Fantastic food and ambiance! The vegetarian 3 course meal my girlfriend ordered was very disappointing. They definitely need to rethink the quality of the vegetarian options. If you aren't ordering any vegetarian options I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Beautiful, delicious garden-to-table meal. The menu is small but varied. Food is plated beautifully and the flavors are wonderful. Friendly waitstaff. Perfect for a date night or special occasion. We had the ragu, duck, rabbit, and lemon tart. All delicious! Unique wine list, too!
The food is amazing! We came with a group of 6 and tried each other's dishes, and they were all fantastic. They also do really well with wine pairing. Service was great, albeit a bit slow going from one course to the next. Not a big deal though, as we still thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
This is a favorite of ours in Denver! The food plating is masterful, and the flavor profiles are quite lovely and even exceed the presentation. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is delightfully attentive. I fully recommend Bittersweet!
Great food and service! We always enjoy the creativeness of the chef!
We celebrated 2 birthdays and our overall experience was intimate and elegant. May, the hostess was a refreshingly warm, pleasant and courteous first impression! Sylvia was hands down one of the best servers we have had in years! She was extremely knowledgeable of all menu items and was very patient in answering all of our questions. Given the number of tables/party size she was tending to, her timely visits to our table were just right and non-intrusive. The food presentation and taste were by far, 5 star! Adding this place to our favorites list!
Really attentive service, genuine and welcomed. Both meals we ordered were rave-worthy.
EXCELLENT! Love this place. Fairly new to Denver, it has taken a while to find some favorite spots....and this one is on top of the list. Great atmosphere, service, craft cocktails, good wine list, and exceptional food. Parking can be a bear, so arrive a little early - !
The staff at Bittersweet was fabulous! We were greeted by the host and he recognized the “birthday girl” immediately and informed us that a bubbly toast would be served complimentary!! The staff also put a candle into one of our desserts as an added nice touch. All of our guests were extremely pleased with the food and choices! As a relatively new “Denverite” Bittersweet is a hidden treasure that I am glad to have discovered and will visit again!
Our dinner at Bittersweet was the best we've had in Denver in a very long time. I cannot say whether the two small plates we shared--the lamb meat balls and the wild boar--or the grouper I had for a main course were better because they were all perfection! The service was impeccable, and it was nice to be able to laugh and talk with friends without ever needing to raise our voices. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return.
So delicious, great service and plates were beautiful. Save room for dessert!!!
This is a place to go for a celebration. The dishes were all amazing. The vegetables were cooked just perfectly and service was top notch.
Bittersweet has a charming ambience for gathering to enjoy a delicious meal. The staff was very accommodating for menu changes regarding dietary requests.
Food exceptional...service not as attentive as usual. Pity.
Our experience was indeed bittersweet. The food was outstanding in quality when it finally arrived, but the portions are quite small. The server seemed to be trying to manage the situation but we were told the kitchen was backed up that night. This was particularly surprising since at least a third of the tables were empty and the menu is relatively limited. The ambiance is nice but it lost its charm when we spent far too long there wondering if they had started the long process of cooking risotto from scratch when we ordered it.
My party and I wished there were more by the glass win options. Otherwise it was great!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. The food is consistently delicious and interesting, the service wonderful and the ambiance quiet and refined.
Excellent food, drinks, ambiance and service. This was an instant classic and we look forward to visiting again in the future
Parking is very limited, so you must find neighborhood street parking which is very difficult. Onion soup appetizer was 4 tablespoons in a soup bowl for $11.00. We sent it back and got one of the pastas which was just fair. A house gin and tonic was $10.00. The pork chop was very good but overpriced based on the portion and sides. The atmosphere is very nice but overall I would not come back nor would anyone else in the party.
Lovely food. The roasted vegetables were divine. Service was props, friendly. Lovely atmosphere Easy access and parking.
