Consistently great. This is our go to place for sushi. You can usually get in right away and there are tons of options to choose from.
Banzai is a neighborhood gem that I've been going to for over 20 years, and since then it's been owned by three different people. The consistent theme over all owners is quality and value. The food is delicious, fairly priced (for sushi) and well prepared. I will continue to frequent Banzai when I'm looking for a great sushi meal. Lovingly referred to as "The House of Rolls", Banzai has more sushi rolls then any other sushi restaurant I have ever been to. There are options to suit everyone's tastes.
It was perfect! We love Banzai!
This was truly a wonderful dining experience! Service was excellent! And the sushi fresh and delicious. The grilled mackerel is my favorite and they made it better than my grandma. (But don’t tell!). I will definitely be back!
It was lovely. Great service.
It was good. Valentines evening, so we were expecting the wait time. Thank you for the service!
I never would have known about this place except for Open Table. A hidden gem in an unlikely locale, but wonderful. 40 years, our waitress had 27 years there. It is the kind of place that you enjoy and you feel good to have given them your business. The variety of the menu is incredible and the wine prices are amazing.
Loved it. Excellent sushi, great waitstaff, lovely ambience.
Great New Year's Eve place. All the veg options are amazing!
The sushi here is simply incredible! If you want to go to an intimate quiet place with amazing food and service, this is the place to go!
Always consistent and reasonably priced. Banzai is our go-to sushi restaurant when we’re looking for a simple sushi experience. What it lacks in ambience it makes up for with variety and options.
It seems to have gone downhill. My family and I have been going here for years and the past few times we've been in (over the past year) we haven't been all that impressed. Not that it's terrible but it used to be great. Now it just seems to be ok. Not sure what happened. There are other Sushi restaurants that we now prefer.
This place has been open since for ever. (1st place I had sushi back in the 80’s). Some of the staff is the same from way back in the day. The rolls are fun and the staff is awesome. The fish is decent and spot on for the price point. Good sushi without the BS/scene/ prenticiousness of the Den etc. If it wasn’t a bit of a drive for us we’d be there more often.
Banzai is always a great sushi restaurant. Without the hype of many other places the quality and service is always top notch.
Great selection of terrific sushi rolls, always fresh, and well presented.
The selection of rolls was mind boggling. Everything we had was outstanding. Great service as well.
Wonderful sushi quality and presentation. Slow service today - that has not been an issue in the past.
Great food, great service. They go above and beyond to serve their customers. They even went to the grocery story to get something we wanted.
The service was great. Very kind and they were there for all our questions. The sushi was delicious. Also the amount of rolls was unbelievable very impressive. We be back soon!
Always amazing food!!!
Great food and service! Super happy hour! We will definitely be back!
This is one of the best sushi places in Denver , always good and fresh with imaginative rolls and solid nigiri.
Great service. Amazing food.
Love this place! Great sushi and sake, good prices the fried oysters and the sishito pepers were delicious.
We've been coming here for over a decade. Even after moving over half-an-hour away, I still bring out-of-town guests here when they visit (i.e. it's worth the drive). The volcano roll is a great appetizer. Try the Roll-R Coast-R (#10 sushi roll) and the Katsudon (on the lunch menu but they'll serve it to you for dinner if you ask). Staff is always friendly. Miso soup is authentic. Atmosphere is quiet on weeknights. Can get a bit loud on weekends when it is full and has a long wait (i.e. make reservations!).
The "lunch deal" is a great choice and very reasonable in price.
Our go to spot for date night. Everything is always spectacular!
The service is outstanding and the sushi is amazing! It was very fresh with great flavor. The Chernobyl roll is very spicy. After you eat it, you'll feel like you ate the sun. Don't let that deter you because it's totally worth it!
This is my favorite sushi place in denver, you just can't go wrong everything tastes great!
Food was very good. The server said a rude comment that me and my husband took offense to. Won't be back
The service was very good. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. We were there on a Sunday evening and we were one of 3 tables that had diners. There is an abundance of hand rolls, and we tried 4 of them. We like tuna, so we focused on that. All the rolls we had included spicy tuna, of which there was an overabundance. What there was not an overabundance of was the tuna itself. Had to look hard to see slivers of it. The rolls varied basically by the fillers and sauce on top. the tuna nachos were ok. too much spicy tuna that was more of a paste. the crab wontons were great. Would probably not go back, although if you want basic sushi rolls, you could eat a lot of not a lot of money here.
Overall we had a good time. But for non-sushi menu items, it was a 50/50 split of food being flavorful or extremely bland.
We have been eating at Banzai for over 21 years and have never been disappointed in the food or service. They are wonderful!
Great roll selection! Very fresh sashimi also. Salmon collar was a great starter. Prices are better than many of the other Japanese places in Denver. We'll be back here often!
Banzai has and continues to be one of my favorite sushi spots in Denver.
They have 100+ rolls so you should have plenty to choose from.
Oshinko (pickled vegetables) is a great appetizer not on the menu.
The hot nutz is delicious and definitely packs a punch with fresh jalapeno.
The sweetheart roll is shaped like a heart (two halves) and is sweet, crunchy and spicy.
The overall experience was really well and the plating of the sushi was pleasing to the eye. It's a great place and would go back again.
Banzai Sushi has a lot of unique rolls (I think it was around a hundred). Unfortunately, the rice was so mushy that the rolls were mostly ruined. It was difficult (but not impossible) to taste the different parts of the roll and how they came together because the mushy rice overpowered them. The textures of the rolls were also ruined.
The service was mediocre at best with tea taking 10 minutes and water sitting unfilled and the two waitresses were difficult to find. The entryway to the restaurant is super cramped and has two sets of doors for some strange reason. The hostess stand is at the back of the restaurant, so it is weird that this place takes reservations.
Overall, the restaurant felt like a cheap sushi buffet, but it had normal sushi restaurant prices.
Banzai has always been an amazing place to dine. I am 36 years old and have been going there for dinner since I was 6. You cannot go wrong ordering anything from the sushi, to the tempura, to the teriyaki steak. It is great for families and they have delicious meals for the little ones as well.
I love this place. The service is excellent; great place for families with children.
