The meal was terrific as was the service. This is one of the best restaurants in Albuquerque, it's been open for years and they do a very nice job.

My husband absolutely loved his meal. Although my meal was good it had too much salt overall. I noticed I got a headache after but didn't equate it to the meal. The next day I ate the leftovers and again I got a headache. I suspect it was from too much salt. Also, it would be great if there was a gluten free bread option.

Qualifier: We had eaten this magnificent dinner at Spago just the night before so anything short of sensational was going to be "Meh". Jumbo lump crab cakes were tiny, salty, and a bit shelly. No jumbo lumps but hey we're in Albuquerque, right? Had the tenderloin which was undercooked and a bit stringy (wth?) but tasted alright. Service is def the "C" team when compared to the staff at Spago or other A list LA restaurants. Fairly disappointing as we had read some nice things about this place before.

We always enjoy Artichoke Café. There was a very loud table this particular evening and it impacted our ability to have a conversation. We actually went early to try and avoid this potential issue. Otherwise, it was the usual, consistent experience!

Food was very good. We were seated in an area where it was easy to carry on a conversation and that was appreciated.

My wife and I were traveling and out for a special dinner. We admit we are particular, and don't mind paying to dine where the experience is great. Artichoke Cafe could have been so much better, but they just didn't seem to have their act together. Even though it was late and the they were less than half full, they tried to seat us in a corner at a very small table, with one seat facing a wall. They did let us move when I complained. Then they had a mix up on waiters, so the service just wasn't good. I ordered a half bottle of "organic" Pinot Noir, which was laoded with sulfite preservatives and with poor taste. My scallops were hardly cooked, looked like maybe lightly on one side. My wife's ice cream was soup, as they must have set it out while they finished my Creme Brulee.

This is the second time we have eaten here. The food is very good; that is why we came back the next time we were in town. The fried artichoke dish and the roasted garlic appetizers were great as before, as were the pear Maytag Blue cheese salads. The duck breast and lamb rack were perfect in temperature and delightful accompaniments. We did the frozen chili ice cream and mango sorbet, both excellent. The reason I did not give them a notable on the wine list was because they need to add some Washington wines to the list. To be fair, our waiter brought us each a glass of wine to try with no charge on top of the 2 bottles we had ordered. The wine prices are very reasonable. Service was also very good. We will go back again!

I have enjoyed Artichoke cafe for a number of years. The options on the menu are superb. Although it is higher price than most of Albuquerqur restaurants, I think it is worth it, but because of that I have to limit my dinning there.
