Great restaurant. Service Extremely EXCELLENT! Portion a bit small for price, but taste is delicious.
Very good food, service was not the best, menu not easy to understand and servers too busy to explain or recommend anything. There were two people who didn't show up for work so not totally their fault. Do give it a try!
Just encouraged others to visit. Hope it survives. Great food, small place.
Nothing much to say - food was okay, atmosphere not too good.
Very much enjoyed the food and the restaurant .... Great was able to get a table on Friday night on Larimer .... Finally a moderately priced restaurant, very good food and service and not overrun with the trendy millennial crowd.
Excellent service, wonderful and flavorful food. Could not ask for more. Will definitely be back.
The food was delicious and was impressed with service too
We went for our anniversary and a pre-concert dinner (at the Larimer Lounge just 2 blocks away). Had high expectations based on others reviews and we were not disappointed. We were seated quickly and the server offered anniversary congratulations as I had made that note on my OT reservation! We started with a very reasonably priced bottle of Montepulciano, very fresh, crisp Caesar salads, followed by amazing entrees. We have eaten at many Italian restaurants in Denver and this is near the top of the list for flavor, atmosphere, service and price.
Americatus is a wonderful, quiet place with exceptional service and even better food. The dedication to creating a new-world italian environment is seeped into the brick walls and shines through with the friendly, happy servers, the soft glowing ambiance and the exquisite cuisine.
A small menu to me typically means that the restaurant knows what they're doing and Americatus never disappoints. A local favorite that continues to surprise me.
Delicious food! Comfortable, but tight space. Amazing service!
I made a reservation for 745pm on a Thursday, but when I arrived on time the restaurant was closed.
The food was good, but I wish they had a larger appetizer offering. There were several items on the menu on OpenTable that weren't on the menu at the restaurant. I had the linguini with sausage and it was really good, but I kind of wished I had gotten the gnocchi. My friend had the gnocchi and it was AMAZING. A little crispy on the outside and soft on the inside...plus the pesto was outstanding. I definitely want to go back.
In a world where many Italian restaurants have the same items, Americatus stands by itself. They offer unique pasta dishes that made it difficult to choose since they all sounded delicious! I had a risotto dish with squash and pork that was fantastic (left nothing on my plate). And for dessert, they offered a limoncello cake with homemade whip cream that took me back to the Amalfi coast.
My only constructive feedback would be the wine list. For being a creative restaurant, I (personally) would like a few more options when it comes to wine to pair with the dishes. Would not stop me from going back though.
Overall, a fantastic restaurant that offers a fun twist on the classic Italian dishes and is worth the reservation, as this place is very small but cozy. You will not be lost in the crowd inside of Americatus. 8.5/10
Food. Great. Service outstanding. Pesto gnocchi was fab.
We really enjoyed our evening out a Americatus. It was just what we were looking for very casual but intimate setting without a lot of noise. A small beer and wine selection, but they picked some great ones at a great price.
We had a memorable and very fun family holiday celebration at Americatus. It is a lively, vibrant spot with excellent food and solid service. The wait staff was attentive, friendly and helpful and the food simple but creative and received rave reviews from all at our table . Americatus is a small place with tables close together so it can be noisy. But in our case that wasn't a negative. It only added to the energy and festive ambiance of the restaurant.
I love Anericatus! Everything I've had so far is perfection. The only downside is the close quarters and sometimes you just get stuck next to some weirdos. But the waitstaff has always been lovely and the food is amazing. The fact that everything is fresh and made in house is evident.
Our apps were great (antipasto, great GF bread, crispy polenta) but entree salad missed the mark (Moroccan salad was said to have caramelized butternut squash- it seemed just cooked, not caramelized, beets were raw, there were only a half-dozen almonds and a 1/16th of an avocado- just lots of romaine). Wine was great. Service was outstanding. Food was a let down.
cat was fun and responsive. the food was fresh and tasty. The wine was reasonably priced.
Love this place! Food quality is incredible as is the value.
Fun cozy atmosphere. Service was excellent. Our server was incredibly friendly and came to our table often. Kitchen was a little off their game. One friend received the wrong dish, and my meal was missing some ingredients like they had forgotten to finish it. The food was fine, but seemed hurried.
Best birthday ever! Super yum. The carbonara rules.
Great place. Great price. Delicious. Gluten free pasta and bread.
The food here is hands down some of the finest Italian cuisine in the area. Owner/chef is amazing. The food is high in quality, preparation, taste, and presentation. It was all a delight. The food is just good. I don't think anyone will be disappointed. We will be back.
First time here and loved it, will absolutely be back. Service was a bit slow but it was a busy Friday night. The food and drinks made up for it! The drink I had was called F'n amazing and it absolutely was. The sausage linguini was on point too. My boyfriend loved his pork linguini dish, and the burrata appetizer was great. Loved everything, especially the price!
What an exceptional evening we had at Americutus! Celebrating a bachelorette with 11 folks. The service was impeccable, the food was out of this world quality, and the overall experience created a WOW moment with our entire group!
Thanks to Kat and Iain and the rest of the team for a stellar evening!
Super fun little restaurant! Food was extremely good, and the portion sizes was great!
Pretty basic place ambience wise but very tasty food would definitely eat there again.
The Amerigo came highly recommended but fell, so very short. The burrata was quite good for a neighborhood spot but my sausage was literally refridgorator temperature in the pasta sauce. wine and booze selection was poor and they were a little too proud of the crostini with every single entrée, salad or appetizer. I will not return and wouldn't recommend it. Home made does not equal, well made unfortunately.
Fresh tasting and unique dishes. Will definitely go back when we return to Denver.
the appetizers were good but the main courses were not. my food came out cold and unseasoned. the two other main dishes were not good. we had to send all three main courses back. the waitress also kept messing up our order and then forgot to place our main course order. and then she tried to blame it on us. however the GM was nice and so was the other waiter.
The food was really good, great spin on traditional Italian. My only complaint is you don't get a lot for the price.
Simple Italian fare, casual interior with modern art and shared tables. We enjoyed it... the pasta with sausage was better than the tortellini. We also had the bread pudding which was dry, so we ordered more of the "white sauce," and then it was much better. Wait staff was nice and accommodating. It started raining, so we moved inside.
A group of 6 girlfriends dined @ Americatus for a belated birthday celebration. We love getting out of the suburbs to try new restaurants downtown. All was great at this restaurant, but we had a few disappointments that I hope the management can fix for future patrons. First off, there was only one Chardonnay sold by the glass….really! Only ONE? Secondly, we ordered Barrata for an appetizer….It was a nice sized piece of delicious mozzarella, but was served w/ just a few pieces of bread. We asked for more bread and they gladly provided it, but failed to tell us that extra bread is an extra charge. Lastly, we mentioned upon our arrival that we were celebrating a 50th birthday. The waiter acknowledged our conversation. At the end of our meal, he brought over 2 of the restaurant's desserts without us asking him to do so. We thought that was a very nice touch to end our meal….but then he charged us for the desserts! Most restaurants will comp a birthday dessert or at least let the guests know that the management doesn't allow them to provide celebratory desserts for free. Very presumptuous of our waiter to assume we wanted dessert and that we would pay for it. These little things might make us think twice about going back. The restaurant scene in Denver is getting better by the week and every restaurant owner needs to take care of all of the little things in order to gain repeat business!
Exceptional food. Small venue. You sit close to your neighbors. Service can be a little hit or miss but the value of this place is awesome.
Have been to Americatus 3 times for dinner, one lunch. Food is good but menu is very limited. Service friendly but inefficient. Although we had a reservation, tables had been reserved for a large party (which only partially showed up, late). Was chagrined that we were seated at picnic table in spite of objecting. Very awkward moment and I will think very hard before returning for dinner. Maybe better for a casual snack.
We love this little place. Cozy. Delicious food. Great cocktails. Comfortable service. Get the Gnudi. Divine!
Service food and drinks were amazing!
