Served daily in the majestic, naturally-lit surroundings of the hotel’s dining room, The Lanesborough Grill, afternoon tea is accompanied by a pianist at weekends.

This was a present for my wife's 60th birthday. Although the train journey there and the delayed journey back from Bognor Regis did not spoil what was a truly wonderful experience. We were fortunate to be seated upstairs which was lovely and from which we got some great pictures. From initial contact with Nikolai to my end conversation with May all staff were very respectful. The food was to die for and too much to consume. We took a takeaway bag away with 2 scones as we were both full. I would like to have real tea leaves with strainer, however this is a small point. Hoping to go back for lunch one day.

I put in the comments before it was my girlfriend’s birthday but no cake or gift which was very disappointing. Food and service was good got charged for water thought it would be free. Had a much better experience at The Dorchester previously so will go there in future

The food was very good. I’m usually not a fan of Afternoon Tea desserts for lack of flavor, but that’s not the case here. The restaurant is beautiful. Issue was service was lacking. Everyone is polite but we never got our teas refilled and that’s a huge part of Afternoon Tea. The Bridgerton aspect of the tea was also very subtle. I think they could have done more with explanations.

The atmosphere was perfect. The service was incredible. The food just wasn’t exceptional. The pastries were a 10/10; however, the sandwiches fell very short. I think the desire to add different flavors didn’t really work. The scones were very good- 8 or 9 out of 10.

Our experience of the Bridgerton themed Afternoon Tea was poor, definitely not the standard one would expect from a 5 star hotel. Our special occasion was marred by poor service ,cracked cups and missed details in the themed decoration. We were made to feel uncomfortable highlighting our issues and whilst a repeat mocktail was delivered in compensation, the encounter left us very disappointed and we would not recommend for a special celebration.
