A word from Tom's Urban
Tom's Urban is named for Founder Tom Ryan, recently listed as one of the "Top 25 Food Entrepreneurs" of the last quarter century by Gourmet Magazine. His team sought to create a dining experience offering innovative, yet familiar dishes alongside a creative bar program. Situated at the gateway of Larimer Square, Tom's Urban is an experience unlike any other. The menu includes America's most iconic dishes served alongside regional specialties found only in Colorado. The menu is scratch-made and features everything from benedicts to burgers, urban tacos to seafood Pot Pie – all with an urban twist. The restaurant uses locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible and partners with some of the area's finest farmers and purveyors.

  • "A group of us go to a different breakfast spot once a month and this month it was Tom's. It had something for everyone, easily accommodated special requests, and they took good allergies seriously as only good restaurants do."

  • "This place rocks. Friendly service from the moment that you enter to when you leave. The menu was a breakfast lunch with a great variety to choose from. The knife and fork sandwiches are delicious as are the tacos and burritos. A fun place to be with a hip atmosphere. Great for lunch, pre-game or late dinner."

  • "Two issues that we had. 1) not really kid friendly as they don't have cups with lids. 2) not gluten free friendly as there are not very many GF items on the menu. "

  • "We had grand parents, parents and a couple of younger family members. Everyone had a really enjoyable meal and the service and staff were very attentive. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and go back again ourselves."

  • "My wife and I had brunch at Tom's. The food was really good (breakfast burrito for me, pancakes for the Mrs), the service was good, and it's in a great location. Definitely recommend giving Tom's a visit if you haven't already."

  • "We made reservations through Open Table for Sat. evening during the Chalk Art Festival. We were glad we did! The wait for a table was at least an hour, but we were seated immediately. Johnny, our server, was friendly, attentive and fast. Drinks were great, especially Tom's Cup. The food was good, but not outstanding. The sweet potato fries were delicious! The chopped salad was mostly lettuce with only a few pieces of chicken, bacon, cucumber, avocado and jicama. Our least favorite aspect of the experience was the noise. It was beyond "energetic", verging on painful and we felt sorry for the people who had to work in it. "

  • "We needed a low key place that wasn't too expensive to start out our evening, and I chose this place for my gals and I to meet. The service was fantastic - they gave us a free dessert for the celebration (my crown and "bride to be" sash much have tipped them off...). Not overstated, fun atmosphere, great food. Smaller portions on most dishes, though, so if you come hungry be sure to order one of their sides. Their sweet potato fries BLEW. MY. MIND. Sweet and spicy with some little kick of something that I'm still wrapping my head around. YUM. I could eat a barrel of 'em. "

  • "My wife and I attended Tom's for dinner before seeing American Iddiot @ DCPA. Online reservation worked perfectly. Initially greeted by a friendley and helpful host/manager. Sat us at a perfect 2-top near the window. Atmospher was non pretentious but we still felt like we were treating ourselves to something special. Greeted by a phenomial waiter (male with red hair and glasses), who knew the menu and made great suggestions. The timing of the apps and dinner was just right. The Calamari app was fantastic with grilled peppers and a wonderful sauce. The waiter offered to let us taste every craft beer so we would be happy with our beer choice. Incredible dining experience. From a true reviewer I will be reccomending Tom's to everyone."

  • "Maybe it is just my taste, but I found the food over-salted. I had the lobster pot pie, my girlfriend had an open faced smothered ham and turkey sandwich. We both thought the food was quite "

  • "I was taking a group to dinner and wanted to find something nice but not too pricey, sinse I was footing the bill, downtown. Six of us ate and drank, had appetizers for $112. The portions were large and everyone was VERY happy with the food. The happy hour deals are amazing 1/2 off on their entire drink menu and appetizers and pizza's. AND it lasts until 7PM. I dont' work downtown but would go out of my way and pay for parking to go to happy hour again. I had taken my daughter there previously for brunch and it was also excellent."

  • "Food was average. Large selection for late night. But nothing special shrimp and lobster tacos average. Not special. Korean BBQ burger plain. No kick or uniqueness. Shrimp salad like one you would purchase at store. I love concept. Hope they do well"

  • "I took my 2 teenagers who are rather tough to please to Tom's and they were delighted! One had a burrito and said "Excellent", the other had the burger and loved it. My husband and I shared the lobster and shrimp tacos and the crab enchiladas and thought they were deliciously interesting with a variety of flavors. The wait staff were personable, helpful, and fun! Overall, great evening!"

  • "We had a group of 10 and our server, Perry, was so accommodating and always available. The menu is diner fare with gourmet ingredients and a sophisticated flavor. One of the most memorable brunches with delicious food and great service. "

  • "We thought this restaurant was just OK. I think they were going for upscale diner food. My husband liked his steak and eggs OK, but my enchiladas were kind of lacking in personality and flavor. I felt like they lost the gluttonous yum of diner food without replacing it with real quality or flavor I would expect with a high-end eatery. The atmosphere was fun, but the food was disappointing."

  • "Never having been to Tom's I had no idea what to expect. Our waitress was wonderful! She was knowledgeable, friendly, not pushy and prompt. We had a chance to meet the manager and found her to be very accommodating and just as friendly. The food was excellent. My friend and I both had the mix and match tacos, excellent! I don't like BBQ but tried the Korean BBQ taco and was blown away. I'd highly recommend this find to anyone. "

  • "Great happy hour bargains! The calamari was uniquely smoky and the red and green peppers were delicious! I had a salad that was huge...fresh ingredients with lots of chicken. Service was friendly and helpful. A great experience in a lively, people watching area!!!"

  • "I keep going back to Tom's - I can't stay away! The food is consistently good, fresh and yummy. The happy hour is nice, and runs past the normal 6pm. The staff is always fun and friendly. I can't say anything bad about Tom's - I try to make it in at least every other week."

  • "I'd go again and try different dishes. i ordered mix and match tacos and was disappointed. Nothing really special about them. Their green chile was so-so. The salad was the best of the three dishes we ordered."

  • "My family and I were looking for a fun place to go for brunch prior to seeing the Globetrotters at the Pepsi arena. We wanted fun, energetic, and hip to go with our afternoon theme, with good food, and boy did we find it. The atmosphere is casual, with a local feel to it which made it feel as if we lived in the area. There is a perch on the second floor where you can see all of the fun from a birds eye point of view. This was good for us since we have a 5 year old. The service was top notch. Our server was very attentive to our needs. The food was amazing! My wife could not stop talking about the hash browns. I was taken away by the spicy Bloody Mary I ordered. Traditional brunch food with a local spin. We will absolutely be coming back."

  • "Moscow mules spot on. Korean burger a bit messy but very tasty. The white bean dip was good and they brought more flat bread. Very attentive service and a chic retro environment. I would recommend as a happy hour spot. I did have reservations and we did not have to wait at all. Overall a good experience."

  • "Went for a lunch meeting. Service was exceptionally slow and poorly organized. When the food was finally served, it was at least 10 min from when the first meal hit the table (the burrito; the only hot dish) and the last person was served. 3 of us ordered soups; only 2 made it out... after their salads were served. When done, it took 3 requests to get the table cleared. A small "Our Apologies" credit was applied to the check, but no one spoke to us about it. The food was OK. The green chili did not disappoint and the club sandwich was HUGE, but the Caesar could have done without the chalky, baby kale. It's called Toms Urban 24 because it's open 24 hrs... maybe not be a bad nothing-else-is-open choice if you have the time and patience."

  • "Our server could not have been better! We weren't too happy when it looked like they were going to try to squeeze 6 in a booth that would have been comfy for 4, but they gave us another table, where we could all sit comfortably. I was disappointed that the pancakes only come with pancakes, no protein, so I didn't order any. I got the smothered burrito and I would not have call it "smothered". It was good though.....but I am BIG on green chili. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and we had a great time together."

  • "We were pleasantly surprised by the menu offering, noting that sophisticated breakfast items were still available even for a late lunch. Each person in our party of ten ordered something different and everyone was more than pleased. Unique blends of tastes, generous servings but not overdone. The fries, no matter which variety you chose, were yummy."

  • "We dined here before going to the theatre and it was a treat!! The restaurant is airy and loved the large windows that look out over Larimer and 15th streets. Our waiter was friendly and had great suggestions for what to order, which was needed because their menu is so varied and interesting it was hard to decide. We had three courses and everything we tried was full of flavor and cooked perfectly with generous portions! Highly recommend Tom's Urban 24!"
