Diner Reviews
  • "This is a must-do on all of our trips to LA. Outstanding food, ambiance and service. People-watching is never better. Be sure to request a table on the patio. A delightful way to spend a leisurely lunch."

  • "I went with my daughter and we were sat in the front room in two big comfortable chairs in front of a fireplace. The tables were close but not too close that you had that feeling of being on top of each other. The décor was shabby chic and atmosphere had a lot of energy. The food was delicious and the service was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "My family and I dined at The Ivy for our first time while on vacation. I must say as soon as we walked in, they served us with champagne and the famous "Ivy cookies," it was devine. As for the service, it was impeccable to say the least. Last but not least the food was so phenomenal that my entire family left nothing left on their plates. Needless to say, we will be returning to The Ivy again."

  • "Food is always excellent, but this time the service was lacking. No interaction with server, he didn't check to see if we had everything we needed, how it was etc. This is unusual, I have been many times when I visit LA and this experience was the worst as far as service goes."

  • "Wonderful food, lovely ambience and great service."

  • "Seems like every time I go there, the prices are higher."

  • "I have to rate my dining experiences (yes, more than once-it's THAT good!) at The Ivy as a highlight of my stay in the LA area this week. There are so many restaurants to choose from but this quaint, little diamond on Robertson provides a step into beauty, superb service and an extensive selection of delectable, well-prepared food and drinks. Fresh roses and rose patterns throughout joined with gingham pillows and the rustic edge of Mexican stoneware and an array of beautiful rustic furniture make the eclectic motif a place of comfort and serenity during or after a busy day in LA. It's very busy at lunch but the sounds of the conversations and laughter of happy guests only adds another level of comfort to the dining experience."

  • "As usual we were disappointed in our meals. It's my favorite restaurant forever!"

  • "I am fortunate to have a job where I travel to many countries done @ the worlds best restaurants and always wanted to try this Beverly bistro and to my surprise it did not disappoint. I flew my mother out to meet me from NJ I started with the tuna tartare she the calamari tuna was light and delightful mom said the best she's ever had. Dinner we went with the lobster special I had the large portion she the small, it was lobster taken from the shell cut up and put bake in with linguini in a pink sauce after a bit I was like us there any pasta in here? There was just lobster chunks after lobster chunks theeeee best ever. Had the wonderful server choose a desert he picked the apple and blackberry cobbler and mint tea, both to die for."

  • "I really liked Mozza in general but they over salted my pork so I couldn't eat it. The wine and mozzarella and pasta were very interesting. I was there once before and hand had same issue with the beef ribs."

  • "while all the white/caucasian were placed at the patio and near the patio, Asians were seated in the room which made us to feel that we're being isolated. Everyone seemed nice and kind, but I strongly felt the racism in the restaurant's management/service."

  • "My sister and I had always heard that eating at the Ivy was a must when visiting LA. When we went to find out for ourselves we fell in love. From the beautiful patio, awesome wait staff, wonderful meal, and over all experience it was a place that I am already excited to go back to."

  • "The Ivy is our favorite restaurant during our visits to Los Angeles. It is quaint and cozy with a friendly team anxious to ensure you have a memorable visit. The food is outstanding! We would highly recommend The Ivy to our friends and family."

  • "The Ivy has been around for a long time and I must say they don't disappoint. Great service. Great food. Tables are too close together outside is my only complaint. The Ivy is great."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "The only negative is they rush you. Good is served very quickly so they can turnover the tables. My main course came out while the appetizer was still on the table unfinished so we sent the main course back for a bit. They didn't care but it just felt rushed."

  • "This restaurant experience was probably the best I've ever had. The service was incredible, the food was good, and the restaurant is beautiful."

  • "First time dining at the infamous Ivy restaurant and we were not disappointed. We were seated right away at a prime table on the patio. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious (highly recommend the swordfish tacos) and the waitstaff was fabulous. We had such a great experience and even had a celeb sighting:)"

  • "Food was not very good , nothing stood out. I ordered the lobster and pasta in their pink sauce. The sauce was actually not very good. They brought me the wrong dish but were quite fast at bringing the correct dish after I told the waiter. Service was good, the waiters were very nice and attentive."

  • "We are from out of town and we greatly enjoyed our brunch at The Ivy. The restaurant was extremely accommodating when we had to change our reservation a few times and, when we did arrive, we were sat immediately at a lovely table on the front porch. The staff were friendly, knowledgable, and gave us just the right amount of attention. The food and cocktails were outstanding and well worth the price! The monitors were large and beautifully prepared. I ordered the crab cake benedict, which was the most amazing benedict I've ever had. I would definitely recommend The Ivy to locals or to anyone visiting the area!"

  • "I had anticipated an expensive celebrity haunt, where the snob factor and ok food were the standard for non celeb punters like myself. The reason I booked was for my teenage son, just finishing his exams ans wanting to experience LA dining. However from the start we had fantastic attentive and professional service. The staff were so friendly and helpful. 10/10. When the food arrived both my son and I were delighted. Thankyou. We will not forget the fantastic time we had. The ambiance and beautiful setting made it one of the best dining experiences in my 56years. It was one of the highlights of our holiday to LA and without hesitation I can recommend this restaurant."

  • "I have read all the hype about this place and whilst there were no celebrity sightings, the service and ambience made up for that. It's totally overpriced but a nice little place to have a romantic meal... It is more about the vibe of the place then the quality of the food. Be careful with the drinks they are VERY expensive ($24 for one simple cocktail) but overall we had a lovely night and felt very welcome."

  • "I had really wanted to eat at the Ivy, as I have heard it was supposed to be amazing. Unfortunately, I left unamazed. We were seated out on the patio. I had to step over bags & squeeze my way to the table. Once I got there I was abruptly elbowed by an unapologetic old man. My table for 2 was surrounded by larger tables of 4+ & their conversations is all I could hear, so much for my little romantic garden wedding anniversary lunch. When we were seated, we were given a drink menu only. We had to wait 10 min to actually get the food menu. Our food tasted delicious, however, trying to eat on the tiny table is quite a challenge. Although there are more waiters than seated capacity, we still couldn't get refills on our ice water. Not worth it!"

  • "We enjoy lunch you can appreciate the ambience much more during the day. It's romantic, love all the flower arrangements, pillows, dishware and service is excellent. It's the most beautiful shabby chic rest. In the city."

  • "Beautiful restaurant with lovely outdoor seating area. Food, drinks and service excellent. Our waiter has a great sense of humor and made our evening fun. We have been to Ivy several times in Santa Monica and London (latter no relation). This is the best. Hence have been 3 times in 2 weeks."

  • "he ambience is great -the staff are not particularly friendly -The food was ok but not very good - for this, it was too expensive -- because of the food you need not enter the restaurant to go"

  • "The Ivy is a charming gem in the middle of high end Beverly Hills. The food/menu are wonderful. I ordered the cocktail of the day and it was delicious. The warning is the price tag..."

  • "The Ivy is the place to be seen and to see celebs, although I did not recognize anyone famous. I had the swordfish tacos and the cucumber Martini both were amazing. We ate outside and found it very cramp and hot, it would have helped having some fans running. The complimentary champagne while waiting for our table was a pleasant surprise and very appreciated. Overall the Ivy is what I expected and I would return."

  • "I wasn't sure what to expect, you hear the name the Ivy and think over priced food stuck up waiter. Well this was not the case, great service, amazing food and it wasn't too bad being sat next to some Hollywood A-list celebrities. Best lobster tacos ever."

  • "From the moment we arrived before we even felt comfortable in the tiny chairs they put us in (party of 4 at a table suitable for 2) we were pushed to eat, pay, leave...waiter came around to take our order every 2 minutes. We hadn't had time to look at the menu. With desert came the bill - every 2 minutes he came to collect payment. This isn't the first time I have dined at this restaurant but this is the very first time I have been rushed to this degree. After all when you are paying 40 dollars for a simple salad you would like at least 10 minutes to enjoy it. All in all we were in, out in 35 minutes. I guess we failed at being hip and beautiful - even in our Chanel and Hermes gears - to belong in this space. Disappointing at best."

  • "We arrived 3 mins late of our reserved time for outdoor seating but we had to sit inside tucked in the back of a corner next to the wall with no view. The food portions were decent but the taste was very bland. Service was great."
