Management neglected to take action against a loud, boisterous and anti-American foreigner, ultimately leaving it to the customers to set him straight and quiet him down. Restaurant is located in a nice setting; too bad it isn't managed similarly."

  • "I found this from tripadvisor and decided to take a shot. I used opentable to make a reservation and included in the comment area that we were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and I requested a table near the windows that overlook the mangroves. We were not disappointed! Got a table with a nice view and a fabulous meal. We both had the shrimp cocktail appetizer and Alaskan Crab 2 ways. They also gave us a free appetizer that was not on the menu some sort of cornbread mixed with Pimento cheese...very tasty. At the end they gave us a free dessert of almond lemon pound cake with strawberries and cream to celebrate our anniversary...very nice touch!!!! Brian was our server and did a wonderful job!!!"

  • "We went to The Bay House for brunch, after church, on Father's Day. We are in our 70's, so the easy parking and front entry ramp option was helpful. Once inside, we were seated promptly, with a great view of the bay. We enjoyed the beautiful old wooden boats suspended above us, and the classic white linen table appointments. We found the menu choices very satisfactory, and the prices reasonable. The food was delicious. The service was equally satisfactory. The added bonus was the unexpected presence of an Irish band in the bar area. We have a particular fondness for Irish music, so this topped an altogether delightful day. We will definitely be returning to The Bay House"

  • "Sunday brunch listening to the Celtic band is wonderful. We were three old friends who wanted a chance to visit as well as enjoy the food and music. This was the place! Our server, Marjorie, knew exactly when we needed something and when we wanted extra time. The "deconstructed" corned beef hash is always a favorite as well as the shrimp and grits. We will continue to return often."

Menu is creative and unique without being over-the-top View of the Cocohatchee River and occasional boats and wildlife adds to the fun. If it's your first trip, ask to reserve a table near a window. The staff will make an extra effort to accommodate you. The raw bar (Tierney's) and outdoor area near the entrance where you can gather for cocktails may serve a more youthful clientele than the main dining room, but you will be at home in either location."

  • "My husband and I ate there for brunch one week ago.I had the yellow tail snapper.The fish was very dry and had no taste. My husband got the burger and it was just ok.The last time what I had gotten had mushrooms and I did tell the waitress that I was allergic to them. When the meal came out,it had mushrooms.The meal was corrected but by the time it came out for me to eat, the other guest were completely done and they had to wait for me to complete my meal. So needless to say, again we came with other guest and did not want experience that again. I can assure you we probably won't be back. For a restaurant of your stature, you would expect your experience & food to be spectacular, but it wasn't. Extremely disappointed"

  • "My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at The Bay House last Thursday evenning. The service was superb. Our waittress was an experienced member of the staff. The food was outstanding. The view was a peaceful view of the water. Almost paradise... This place is very special. The only disappointment was the group next to us. Very loud and very dramatic talkers. We could hardly hear each other talk. I'm not sure how the restaurant can do anything about that problem. We left before coffee and dessert. We couldn't take the noise from the next table. Too bad. Everything else was so good."
