A word from Pizza Republica - Denver Downtown
Welcome to Pizza Republica! The word "republic" is derived from the Latin phrase res publica, which can be translated as "a public affair". In our eyes it helps define our hospitality and passionate culinary style. Quite simply, we don’t cook for us or our ego, we cook for and serve you. We strive to bring the rustic ambiance and fresh ingredient farm to table philosophy found throughout Italy, home to Colorado. We use the finest imported ingredients and century old artisan traditions to bring the definitive Neapolitan pizza experience to our guests. Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "My girlfriends and I went to Pizza Republica for my birthday and before we went to see a show at the Convention Center. We were all looking forward to the yummy meatball sandwich. They changed their menu so it is now only on the lunch menu. Our waiter, Dominic, helped us make our own meatball sandwiches. We loved his personality and helpfulness!"

  • "We went before a show at the Belloc theatre and it was a perfect location. I suggest you make a reservation as the place was packed. The food was fabulous as the wine list. We did have one person in our party that doesn't 'drink and the restaurant does not have any alcohol free beer or wine. That was a little disappointing . Valet parking is offered so we used it but it was along wait to get your car . Overall it was great experience"

  • "I'm Italian so I'm picky when it comes to eating Italian food. This place is awesome! Great pizzas, delicious salads and quality ingredients. Our waiter Ricky was the best server I've had in months. The place was packed at lunch but he had this amazing warm energy that made the whole experience even better! He answered our questions and had no problem with my specific order( dressing on the side, add chicken, blah blah). His positive can-do attitude made the whole experience that much better. Great food, great service, and a nice, clean restaurant create a 5 star Italian dining experience. I'll definitely be back!!!"

  • "Having traveled to Italy a number of times, I often get frustrated with the quality of american made pizzas. Pizza Republica is a real gem! Thin crust Neapolitan pizza with crust that is both crispy and chewy--heaven!!! Also their bufala mozzarella is the genuine article, hard to find and so appreciated!! What a fantastic meal!! I was in the area for a conference--would love to have a Pizza Republica near me--will remember this meal for a long time!"

  • "My husband and I stay are residents in downtown Denver. We recently discovered Pizza Republic and both have enjoyed our several visits there with friends and alone. Atmosphere is fun! Relaxed and classy! Waitstaff is professional and friendly. It's always been a welcoming environment! The food is very good too! I love the roasted beet salad!"

  • "I wanted to treat my son and friends to dinner since they were all back for Spring Break. We chose Pizza Republica because there was availability a bit later than we wanted to eat but the menu looked good. When we sat down the restaurant was half vacant so thought it odd that we could not book earlier in the evening. Our waiter was not very friendly. It appeared his main goal was to get our order as quickly as he could. The pizzas were "okay" but not great - the crust was the best part. Once we finished dinner, we were handed our bill without even being asked if we wanted dessert or anything else. Too bad for the waiter as I had 4 hungry teenagers that would have ordered off of the dessert menu - giving the waiter a bigger tip...."

  • "Went to Pizzaria Republica pre-theater. The Margherita pizza was absolutely delicious- my friend and I paired that with a large order salad that we shared and it was perfect (Pear and Goat Cheese Salad) and bursting with flavor. We happened to be there on a Wednesday and they were offering 1/2 price bottles of wine. Fun! Can't wait to return - would love to try their DTC location as well..."

  • "We had dinner before a show at the Buell Theatre. The service was perfect and the food was excellent. We ordered the salmon entree, an entree salad and pizzas and everyone said their dinners were great. They have a huge wine list but also a full bar. The name is misleading, it's not so much a pizza place as a nice Italian restaurant."

  • "We went there for our daughter's 43rd birthday because we wanted a lively restaurant, younger crowd and close to the DCPA"

  • "My group of friends has always been looking for that perfect combo of dinner and a show. Now that the Valet has been added, We've finally found it at Pizza Republica. Food was excellent, service too. And just 2 blocks from the Buell, we'll be back!"

  • "We always go to Pizza Republica before the theatre, and it is always amazing - good food, fantastic staff. It is never really noisy, and has a wonderful feel to it. They are always so helpful and willing to go the extra mile - we love this place!"

  • "We arrived early for our reservation, they seated us and we were able to enjoy Happy Hour. Waitress was very friendly, helpful and made sure we finished in time for our tickets to the Buell. Food and drinks were great and we had a wonderful dinner."

  • "We we're here for a double birthday event and even though it was a Thursday night and very slow it was amazing. Can see this being a hot spot in the summer. The wine list was amazingly large, we did end up ordering cocktails instead which we're very unique and great! We created two pizzas one half and I thought was not so good but half the group loved and the other amazing and other half didn't so that happened to be fun and entertaining. Definitely go with things you know are good together lol! The waiter was awesome and treated us surprise tiramisu which was amazing!"

  • "My husband and I find this a friendly, reasonably priced choice for a night out. Delicious, inexpensive and just the right amount of food sharing a pizza and salad. The Pinot Nero is a delightful wine at a good price."

  • "We eat out a lot like New Yorkers, so here's out take. Been here a couple times Food - very good gourmet pizzas, salmon salad is superb surprisingly Service - you feel left alone sometimes. it's okay Atmosphere - better on weekends, absolutely dead in middle of week for dinner Overall - would go again"

  • "We eat out a lot, like we're from New York. Their salmon salad actually was great. Service was a bit iffy though. Beware, place is nearly empty and dead during middle of week."

  • "This is not your classic pizza joint, but it's a very classy pizza joint. The biggest minus for us was that we ended up seated on a bench that I shared with a family with several kids. Since my husband and I were on a trip specifically to have time away from our own kids, that took away from the evening and added a lot to the noise level. I would say kids are welcome there but the menu was not specifically kid friendly. Specialty pizzas were more foodie friendly - you can check their menu online to see. The ambiance was nice and the waitress said most of their customers go there before catching a show so, if you need to, they can get you in and out quickly (although we never felt rushed)."

  • "Service: Good but our waiter was very nervous and not super familiar with the menu. I saw our salad sitting in the "window" as a manager folds boxes. Ambience: The music was someone's ipod on shuffle. Bad top 40 and old hip-hop interspersed with songs they'd play at an old italian restaurant. I actually asked our server if it was a joke. There is RED brick wallpaper behind the kitchen and too much lighting. They could've stopped at the spotlights on the tables. The place was very clean, so that's good. Food: They were out of arugula on a Saturday night, which was on all of the items we planned to order. The salad was ok, but not "huge". Pizzas were OK but not very flavorful considering the $ and # of toppings. We won't be back."

  • "We went to dinner before going to see Harlem Dance at The Buell. Our server was training, and they both were fantastic. He asked if we had a show to get to. And what time it started. His wine recommendations were perfection. From the valets out front to the manager and everyone in between we could not have been happier."

  • "We ate at PizzaRebuplica before seeing a show at the Buell. It's a great location and the service was excellent. They have a great wine selection too. The food is good, we had a group of seven and ordered a variety, including mussels and bruchetta appetizers then pizza, pasta, and salmon. All were excellent. Prices are reasonable, Would dine there again for sure!!"

  • "We went to Pizza Republica for Valentine's day and I just cannot stop talking about it! The food was fantastic (standard menu). We LOVED the Pizza Vesuvius (half pizza, half calzone!) It was awesome. The crust is fantastic on that pizza. The ambiance was perfect for a night out with my love! Our server Lindsey (Boy) was fantastic! He really made us feel welcome and never rushed us through dinner once. He could tell we wanted a long meal and he obliged. He was so patient and took excellent care of us. The management was also keen to make sure everyone was having a great night. Those desserts... O.M.G. So delicious. Maserati of Denver covered the valet parking on Valentine's which was SO special. I can guarantee that we will be back!"

  • "This place was recommended to me for a not too fancy downtown restaurant. It was perfect for the night, though a little dressier due to the holiday. Our waiter was great and very helpful with our dinner selections. The best part of the meal, was the dessert. It was amazing!!! Overall it was a fun place and I would be back again."

  • "While our dining experience was good - great service and good food, the valet parking situation was less than good. I was very pleased to learn from the hostess who called to confirm our reservation that valet parking was available. However, she had trouble communicating the location of the valet - whether it was on 14th or Champa. All went well when dropping the cars off, but upon our return from the ballet performance, the valets proved to be completely unorganized......they did not seem to have a good system to keep track of which customer was next in line. We waited over 20 minutes in the cold."

  • "The menu is not your ordinary pizza menu, very original variations, super salads - I loved the roasted beet salad with kale and pine nuts! Portions are perfect size- My friend and I each enjoyed a salad and then shared a pizza which was more than enough for us.There are other dinner options if you do not wish to have a special pizza, I was almost tempted to try the pan-seared Monkfish special which sounded excellent. The wine is incredible and very extensive- excellent choices! The Valet parking feature was a REAL plus for us. The location was perfect as we had been to the Opera House for a ballet performance, across the street. It is close to both the Convention Center and the Denver Performing Arts plaza, ideal for a show or an event."

  • "Not your typical American pizza place; the wine list is huge and the pizzas are creatively done. The food is very good but even more so Pizza Republica goes out of their way to hire good staff. The only glitch was with the valet parking - they had only recently started this service and on 02/14/14 two of the three valets were on their first night. And they needed four people , at least. Thankfully the weather was nice while we waited, but that is certainly not always the case in Denver. The ingredients seem top-notch and care is taken in preparation. My wife is from Italy and is a big fan."

  • "Fantastic pizza, wine ad appetizers - and additional menu options, specials as well. The Buttura ?) appetizer is to die for, and one of their pizzas is part pizza part calzone - Very very delicious! Never a bad meal there!"

  • "I love this place. Great Ingredients = Great Pizza!! We have been here twice now and I will definitely be going back again. All the food I've had is excellent and the service is great too. We didn't have much time before a show and our waiter got us our food quickly and we made our show on time!"

  • "I had read all the good reviews and saw pictures of the pizza, I was excited to try it out. It turned out to be a total disappointment. The pizza was not at all what it looked like in the picture. It was barely warm and had hardly any cheese on it. I like a pizza with lots of cheese and hot. This was not it, it reminded me of Macaroni Grills pizza. It was not worth the price. My friend had the ravioli that was expensive and hardly any food. It came with 5 raviolis, she said it was good but not worth the price. I will not be back, I will stick to Tony P's for good pizza."

  • "If there is anyone in your group that leaves this place dissatisfied, they likely won't like anything else, either. Plenty of options for even the pickiest eaters. Service is excellent; the servers are attentive and helpful. Everyone knows the wine list and menu well and can make good suggestions based on a few questions of you. The pizza is great, and the salads are delicious."

  • "We loved dining here. We had a rather large group and were late because of traffic. The staff were wonderful at getting us seated anyway, and served us quickly so we could get to the theater on time. Each of us had a different entre and all raved about the quality, flavor and size. We will definitely be back and recommend Pizza Repulica to our friends. Location is perfect for all downtown attractions. The only negative was traffic. Plan extra time for a relaxed, fun, and tasty experience."
