  • "We had a great brunch (Crab & Shrimp Benedict for me) in a white tablecloth setting before viewing Modern Masters. Appreciate the chef designing food to match the exhibit."

  • "The burger was first over cooked, then undercooked when returned to kitchen. The French Fries done to a crisp and the Cobb salad wilted! The menu seems not to have changed in months!"

  • "I have had lunch more than a dozen times at Palette's, which is located in the Denver Museum of Art. The menu is terrific, food presentation is appropriately artful and the service is perfect. I just wish they were open for dinner every night, instead of just Fridays. It is wonderful. And the views and people watching are among Denver's best."

  • "This is a great spot for lunch or dinner before or after a visit to the Denver Art Museum or Clifford Still Museum. Very tasty, and interesting dishes with great service. And the people watching on the pedestrian mall between the museum and the library is part of the fun and entertainment."

  • "I enjoyed the menu. Service was very friendly. My meal was very good (English pea tortellini), and I'd have it again. Great for business lunches."

  • "ANY restaurant of Kevin Taylor's is a masterpiece, and a true palette for the senses. I am a huge fan of his food and have been ever since he opened the Rattlesnake Club! I took my 85 years young mom and friend there last week and loved every bite. We had a delicious lunch: carpaccio, chili relleno and watercress salad. Oh and some bubbly too! The service is outstanding and the tables are far enough apart and the room carpeted, so quiet conversations are easy on the eyes and ears. This is one of my favorite places to dine in Denver. Besides, it's well-positioned at the Denver Art Museum. Palettes truly paints the way to a great show, or finishes off any museum visit as a true masterpiece."

  • "We visited Palettes with our teenage grandchildren for spring break. It is a lovely place for lunch. There were choices for even our pickiest eater. The crab enchiladas with mole sauce were particularly good. While we were sad to see that the menu had changed since our last visit, everything we tried was very tasty. Kudos to the chef for making excellent seasonal choices."

  • "We have made a habit of lunching at Palette's before seeing an exhibition and based on the food we had on Sunday, the tradition will continue. The food is delicious, the service is very nice, and the setting is bright, clean, and modern without being ostentatious. I had the Pork Tenderloin special with pork belly and lightly-fired polenta cubes. I highly recommend it if it is still on the menu."

  • "We have been to Palettes many times, and not just as part of a visit to the Denver Art Museum. The menu is always fantastic, but the special menus that pair with the major exhibits are superb!"

  • "I have always loved this restaurant - the food and the ambiance are usually great. But the last two times I have eaten there have been very disappointing. The shrimp and crab enchiladas were mediocre and the burger came too well done. It seems that the enthusiasm has gone out of the menu and preparation. Our waiter was very nice but non attentive - I had to flag him down a couple of times for attention. I will try Palettes again and hope that it is re-energized!"

  • "Delicious food and decadent dessert. We enjoyed a beautiful view of snow falling on the public art from the restaurant's picture windows. My only annoyance was that the windows didn't seem to be very well insulated and it got chilly, so maybe bring a sweater on a cold day if you plan to sit near the windows."

  • "We've eaten here almost every time we go to the Denver Art Museum. It's always a treat. The menu changes often, the wait staff knows the food and the wine, and the dining experience adds a lot to the total museum experience."

  • "Working on the east side of downtown Denver there's not many choices for lunch. Palettes is fantastic! I've never not liked anything I got there."

  • "Great place to have lunch before a Denver Art Museum visit. They lost our order this time, so were marked down for that, but we have dined there many times in the past with great service"

  • "We always try to pair up our trip to the Denver Art Museum with lunch at Palette's. The food is terrific, the restaurant is relaxing. It is a perfect way to break up the art experience so that you don't get on sensory overload."

  • "A trip to the Denver Art Museum is not complete without dining at Palettes. The contemporary dining room sets the ambience for what is always a delightful selection of fine foods for those who savor creative seasonings and flavor-filled dishes. The service is impeccable and pleasant with attention given to the slightest detail."

  • "i come down to denver on occasion to meet friends for lunch, and this is an easy place to meet, before or after a cruise through the museum and gift shop. the food always offers an adventure, but i'm extremely partial to the mac'n'cheese, esp. on a chilly day. the service has always been friendly, informed and a good balance of prompt, hot food, and let me linger and talk. the people watching from the comfort of a window table is among the best to be had anywhere, as passersby, photographers and the large scale exterior art installations are in a constant state of reaction to one another. i never tire of palettes."

  • "Dining at Palettes is always a delicious experience and adds pleasure to our art museum visits. The short ribs and accompaniments were fabulous and my husband loved his toasted cheese sandwich. Lovely light-filled room and great service."

  • "Just a totally pleasurable dining experience. I thought the 3 courses for $28 was a terrific bargain. The food was excellent; our waiter was excellent; the room was so comfortable and inviting and I loved he huge windows as well. I would definitely return the next time I am at the museum and would definitely recommend Palettes."

  • "We went during the lunch/brunch time period and were seated next to a picturesque window with a nice view of the museum campus. All in all, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. I really enjoyed the salmon salad in particular."

  • "Palettes was a wonderful choice for our Valentines dinner. The eggplant dish was amazing and our server was personable and offered great suggestions when asked. I loved the decor and ambiance of the restaurant, clean lines and light, airy feeling. I really enjoyed Palettes and I have already recommended it to several people. I look forward to going back there again!"

  • "Fond a table on Vaentines Day. Food was fabulous starting with ahi tacos and moving to amazing enchiladas in a great black bean mole sauce. Diverse menu for all to enjoy. Wait staff seemed very busy and could have used another hand or two. Great gem in the museum."

  • "My hubby and I went for the first time on Valentine's Day. The food was really good, as was the service and overall experience. I know my hubby would have liked a larger beer list, but they did have a few. We would definitely visit again, and recommend to friends!"

  • "Palettes, where we eat occasionally, can be good but occasionally is just okay. The fries were said to be truffled, but tasted like any fries except those at the Aroostook County fair (which are better by far). The slaw was good but made with carrots and raisins. The lobster roll was watery, less lobstery than in a Maine McDonalds. The macaroni with lobster and vegetables was a more appropriate use of lobster and a more successful dish. The service was prompt and efficient; the setting museum- like. We'll be back, hoping to do better."

  • "We had the prix fixe meal for Valentine's Day. The Arctic char entree was delicious, as was every other course. We were very pleased with the meal."

  • "My husband and I never go out for Valentine's Day, but this year we decided to see the Art Museum and then eat at Palettes. At first, I was disappointed with the look and feel of the place. Very bright, plastic chairs, kinda of a fancy cafeteria feel. But once the the host offered us delicious drinks while we waited and then we sampled an appetizer, my mind was change. They had a pre-fixed 5-course meal for only $36. Everything we ate from the crab and apply ravioli to my Atlantic char (like salmon) covered in a lobster cream sauce and then the chocolate cake was outstanding. This dinner was one of the tastiest, best value meals I've had in a long time. Go for the food and you won't regret it."

  • "Palettes is the go to lunch spot for a wonderful experience. Great food and service in a sophisticated white tablecloth establishment where prices aren't much more than lesser restaurants."

  • "The Denver Art museum is a real masterpiece - within two blocks of the Capitol, Denver Mint, City Hall and library. While there, have lunch at Palettes - great lunch choices and great service. We live here and have been to the museum many times, but like Palettes anytime we are in the area."
