  • "Great food and great menu. Service was a bit slow, but we had a great waiter. Patio was a bit cramped... I guess that made you feel like you were in France!"

  • "L'Ancestral had amazing steak tartare, so I deiced to see how they stack up to le Bilboquet and it was almost identical. big portion with great tasting fries. Best stake tartare Ive had in the city. no contest. "

  • "Love the energy when I enter the door. The new menu is the best in Dallas. I was pleasantly surprised with the Asian fusion Salad and fresh artichoke appetizer. I adore Emilio's creativity! Will do brunch soon, alfresco and enjoy another Bloody Mary - delish!"

  • "Good menu and wine list, varied without being overwhelming. The music level was unnecessarily high during most of the evening and seemed to get even louder near the end of the evening, like they were trying to move us along. We went with friends familiar with the NY original, and they were very pleased."

  • "Pros: Upscale bistro with possibly the best French food in town. Yes, we know The French Room and the half-dozen or so other top French tables in town. This is better: fresher in taste, cooking style and presentation style (both without being trendy). Light, bright ambience and staff. The crab and avocado salad is the best, but so far no dish has been a let down. Cons: When dinner is in full swing and the place is full, it's loud even with all the windows open. In the early phases of the evening, it seems a hostess may double as waiter, which leads to somewhat distracted serving but courses are brought on time and at proper temperature. Chef only "on loan" from the NY establish by the same name; will the goodness last?"

  • "We just came back from Paris two days ago and Le Bilboquet was as good as any bistro there. Excellent."

  • "Once again, Le Bilboquet served up a great meal and service. This visit, we enjoyed the veal and fish entrees. The fresh ingredients and energetic atmosphere combine to create a fun place to dine out."

  • "Le Bilboquet offers great food in uniquely prepared dishes. The Cajun chicken is a must try. And, the crab avocado appetizer has the freshest tasting crab that gives the dish amazing flavor. The service is attentive and friendly."

  • "Lunching with a friend was perfect here as it was quiet and chic. Food was well prepared and service efficient but unobtrusive."

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurants that we frequent. We love the relaxed, clean feel of the restaurant, the waiters are friendly and most importantly, the food is top notch! A few of my favorite entrees are the Canjun Chicken, the filet with the peppercorn sauce and the veal scallopini. For my starters the crab avacado and tuna are the best! I did have lunch here with a few ladies. Perfect place for a "ladies lunch." Lebilboquet put a burger on the menu recently, one of tastiest that I've ever had."

  • "This was our second time to go to the restaurant. I found the food and service far better this time. The salads and entrees were enjoyed by 4 of us. We will go back soon. I also love the additional outdoor space."

  • "everything about this restaurant was wonderful. Food service, atmosphere, NO noise! It is possible to enjoy a meal and conversation and not have loud music and poor acoustics interfering with the experience. Food is french bistro and interesting finds on the menu. Highly recommended. Go NOW for patio seating during the 6 weeks Dallas has nice weather."

  • "Le Bilboquet is the best French bistro in Texas. The Cajun chicken is fantastic and the scallops and salmon are also wonderful. We always enjoy gracious service along with the tasty food and elegant ambience."

  • "Our server was very nice but he was slow on a night when the restaurant was not busy. Most of our food was good but some was just average. The outside atmosphere is very nice."

  • "I took my girlfriend here for brunch while she was in town with hopes that it would exceed my expectations after having visited the location in NY. When we got there, after talking it up a bunch, I was disappointed to find that we were the only people that would be dining at the restaurant on Saturday at 12 (optimal brunch time in Dallas). However, I was optimistic about the food. After ordering, it took two incorrect deliveries of an appetizer and an entree for my girlfriend, while she watched me eat my meals before they got cold, to realize that this version is not up to par. The food was good when it was correct, but still... It has a great location, great blueprint to follow, but for some reason has failed. Will not be going back."

  • "The appetizers were great! The best entree we had was the Cajun chicken."

  • "We went for Sunday brunch. The restaurant is very light and bright, and is simple and elegantly designed. The service was very good, There were many good choices on the menu. I had steak and eggs that were amazing (only problem is I asked the sauce for the steak to be on the side, and it wasn't). My husband had eggs Benedict- his staple-he said they were the best he had ever had."

  • "Service was not the normal experience here..... Wasn't my first time. No one ever mentioned the specials. Overheard them telling the next table."

  • "We were seated at our table when the maitre de called my cell phone to ask how much longer it was going to be before we arrived. The appetizers we ordered were good - scallops for me - but my sea bass was literally burned along with the calliflower that came with it. I've never sent a meal back but when the waitress stopped by to ask how everything was.... The soufflé came next. It was flat and undercooked. The simplest way I can put it is, my wife's favorite dessert is a chocolate soufflé and she only had two bites of hers. To top it off, they called the week before and asked for my credit card info and said they would charge us for the full meal if we didn't come We won't be back. There are too many outstanding places to go in Dallas."

  • "This was the third time I have been here. The first, at lunch, was the best. From then on it's been a disappointment. This last time the service was horrible! I've tried it all I intend to."

  • "The server was nice enough to borrow a high chair for our grand daughter from another restaurant as they did not havr one. Crab and avocado salad was superb! The snapper wrapped in potatoes is a must try. Very nice wine list at a variety of price points. The French 75 was one of the best I havehad anywhere."

  • "We have dinned here a few times and the food is consistently sub par to the price point. During this visit it was a limited choice menu due to valentines crowd and a credit card was demanded to make booking. Annoying twist on menu and pricing. Champagne glass was listed as part of fixed price menu but was billed additionally on final bill jacking up price an extra $20. I did not complain about bill as it would have ruined our own vibe to and forced us to deal with the aloof house staff. Desert was really yuck. Will avoid."

  • "Service was attentive and generally good. Starters - the escargot was very good, but the pate was served too cold and was dry. Main course - the two different fish dishes we tried were excellent. The wine list is limited and not impressive, but the Rhone offereing we tried was decent. I ordered a tawny port for desert and all they had was an inexpensive 10 year available. The chocolate mousse (recommended by the waiter as the best of their deserts) was not very good, too much cocoa powder and too dense. The noise level was fine when we arrived, but they kept turning up the background music as the crowd got larger. The place was too loud for our tastes once the dining room was full."

  • "Best French restaurant in DFW. Food, ambience, service first class. Desserts traditional French, but maybe a small notch below the rest of the meal."
    Dined on 2/1/2014
  • "Our second visit in a week, and our first for dinner. Fine French dining with no excuses. Our least favorite dish, the mushroom soup, was very good, and it simply got better from there. The crab and avocado salad was spectacular. The lobster risotto was "just so", as it should be. The country pate was fresh and light with the pistachios setting off the flavor perfectly. We didn't save room for dessert, so we can't speak to them. While Dallas has many great fine dining options, too many of them would not survive in NY, London, Paris or Rome with the same stature they hold in Dallas. This is not one of them. "Branch" of a NY establishment or not, this restaurant can hold it's own with those of the same class in any major culinary city."

  • "Mine was business lunch with a pair of experienced, worldly diners. White table cloth with white butcher paper perfect for drawing diagrams while eating and talking. Top notch French without being too complicated. Service friendly and professional if timing somewhat inconsistent. Drop coffee and various forms of espresso came consistently lukewarm. Server said, "Yes, we're working on improving that." Am taking my wife back for a second try. When asked about the relationship with the NYC establishment, maître d' said, "We're not really related to or owned by the same people, we just have an agreement to use their name, menu and the chef is here." Ok. Overall: good food, nice atmosphere, potential for being superb."
