  • "The service was good. It is a pleasant room. I had steak frite. The frites were good, The steak was the proper medium-rare; the sauce, however was inedible. It was full of partially cooked onions. I had a glass of pinot noir that tasted as though it came from a bottle that had been opened too long."

  • "We wanted classic French food and found it along with creative cooking in the same place. We ordered scallops with a cold orzo salad and lamb with vegetables, as main courses and escargot with lots of butter and garlic as appetizer. These were prepared perfectly!!! For dessert, we ordered tart tartan, which was good but the chef's version, not the classic, and chocolate mouse which was perfect. Our waiter was superb...not overbearing but there when needed. The owner, Stephan, came to our table and spoke with us, making our visit more personal. The ambiance was simple and casual but elegant, noise levels not too loud, and everything was done just right."

  • "The food was unbelievable! My filet was tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. My husband had the lamb and loved it. A friend was disappointed with the Texas grass-fed ribeye not being as tender as she had hoped. Plus, the sauce on the filet is excellent! I had the bibb salad and it was yummy and my friend had the beat salad and she loved it. Dessert (flourless chocolate cake) was good but I expected WOW from a French restaurant. My only complaint was the slow service. Maybe our waitress thought we were busy talking and didn't want to interrupt but we sat there for a very long time before she took our order and the chairs aren't comfortable enough for leisurely dining."

  • "I've always experienced excellent food and service. The tuna tartare, rack of lamb, snails, steak and pomme frites - plus wonderful martinis. Pleasant staff and a general atmosphere of grace and style. highly recommended. We dine here at least 3 times a month."

  • "Service was especially poor on the Friday night we visited. Probably went 15 minutes without seeing waiter at one point. Cajun Chicken was the highlight of our visit."

  • "This "French" restaurant is quite charming and the ambiance lovely. However, we ordered coffee after lunch and were most disappointed. The coffee tasted watered down and was not French press. A disappointment for a French restaurant. The waitress, while delightful, did not know what French press was...."

  • "My husband and I had yet another wonderful date night at Le Bilboquet. The service is perfection. The staff are very knowledgeable about wine, as well as how chef prepares the food. They are there whenever you need something, but not obtrusive so you can enjoy your evening and hold a conversation with your dinner companion(s). The food is always fantastic. It is simply prepared, yet flavorful and melt in your mouth good. The halibut I had this past time was so fresh and delicious and chef's take on gazpacho was wonderful. My husband does not like gazpacho, and he loved this one! "

  • "Don't believe D Magazine, this place is much better. I have been to Le Bilboquet about 7-8 times and the place provides very solid though not outstanding traditional french food. Overall, the service has been very good and the staff "knows" the food. Charming bistro feel with open air dining and the manager comes around to say hello and make sure everything is going well. Would recommend the crab appetizer. The steak tartar is consistent and authentic."

  • "Our second visit within 3 weeks. We loved the food- the salmon was succulent both times and the veal was delicious and tender. Excellent service and the side room felt like we were in the french countryside. Will dine there again soon! "

  • "My husband and I, NYC transplants, visited Le Bilboquet for my husband's birthday. The food was just as good as the NYC location and the staff was much more attentive and much, much friendlier. We received special occasion treatment. We will definitely return on a routine basis. This excellent French bistro was a much welcomed addition to the Dallas restaurant community."

  • "Welcoming ambiance, yummy food- especially fish, salads, soups, very friendly & attentive service. Noise levels vary on weekends...main room lively, side room quieter, outdoor tables combine the lively + intimate/romantic( good for date- night) Lovely gem! "

  • "Our Easter with the children was capped off by a wonderful brunch. I have one child who is quite finicky and I guess le Bilboquet had figured out even kids love truffle fries. My other son (10 years old) when all out and experienced steak tar tar for the first time Look forward on returning without the children soon!"

  • "Great food and great menu. Service was a bit slow, but we had a great waiter. Patio was a bit cramped... I guess that made you feel like you were in France!"

  • "L'Ancestral had amazing steak tartare, so I deiced to see how they stack up to le Bilboquet and it was almost identical. big portion with great tasting fries. Best stake tartare Ive had in the city. no contest. "

  • "Love the energy when I enter the door. The new menu is the best in Dallas. I was pleasantly surprised with the Asian fusion Salad and fresh artichoke appetizer. I adore Emilio's creativity! Will do brunch soon, alfresco and enjoy another Bloody Mary - delish!"

  • "Good menu and wine list, varied without being overwhelming. The music level was unnecessarily high during most of the evening and seemed to get even louder near the end of the evening, like they were trying to move us along. We went with friends familiar with the NY original, and they were very pleased."

  • "Pros: Upscale bistro with possibly the best French food in town. Yes, we know The French Room and the half-dozen or so other top French tables in town. This is better: fresher in taste, cooking style and presentation style (both without being trendy). Light, bright ambience and staff. The crab and avocado salad is the best, but so far no dish has been a let down. Cons: When dinner is in full swing and the place is full, it's loud even with all the windows open. In the early phases of the evening, it seems a hostess may double as waiter, which leads to somewhat distracted serving but courses are brought on time and at proper temperature. Chef only "on loan" from the NY establish by the same name; will the goodness last?"

  • "Le Bilboquet offers great food in uniquely prepared dishes. The Cajun chicken is a must try. And, the crab avocado appetizer has the freshest tasting crab that gives the dish amazing flavor. The service is attentive and friendly."

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurants that we frequent. We love the relaxed, clean feel of the restaurant, the waiters are friendly and most importantly, the food is top notch! A few of my favorite entrees are the Canjun Chicken, the filet with the peppercorn sauce and the veal scallopini. For my starters the crab avacado and tuna are the best! I did have lunch here with a few ladies. Perfect place for a "ladies lunch." Lebilboquet put a burger on the menu recently, one of tastiest that I've ever had."

  • "This was our second time to go to the restaurant. I found the food and service far better this time. The salads and entrees were enjoyed by 4 of us. We will go back soon. I also love the additional outdoor space."

  • "everything about this restaurant was wonderful. Food service, atmosphere, NO noise! It is possible to enjoy a meal and conversation and not have loud music and poor acoustics interfering with the experience. Food is french bistro and interesting finds on the menu. Highly recommended. Go NOW for patio seating during the 6 weeks Dallas has nice weather."

  • "Le Bilboquet is the best French bistro in Texas. The Cajun chicken is fantastic and the scallops and salmon are also wonderful. We always enjoy gracious service along with the tasty food and elegant ambience."

  • "Our server was very nice but he was slow on a night when the restaurant was not busy. Most of our food was good but some was just average. The outside atmosphere is very nice."

  • "I took my girlfriend here for brunch while she was in town with hopes that it would exceed my expectations after having visited the location in NY. When we got there, after talking it up a bunch, I was disappointed to find that we were the only people that would be dining at the restaurant on Saturday at 12 (optimal brunch time in Dallas). However, I was optimistic about the food. After ordering, it took two incorrect deliveries of an appetizer and an entree for my girlfriend, while she watched me eat my meals before they got cold, to realize that this version is not up to par. The food was good when it was correct, but still... It has a great location, great blueprint to follow, but for some reason has failed. Will not be going back."

  • "The appetizers were great! The best entree we had was the Cajun chicken."

  • "We went for Sunday brunch. The restaurant is very light and bright, and is simple and elegantly designed. The service was very good, There were many good choices on the menu. I had steak and eggs that were amazing (only problem is I asked the sauce for the steak to be on the side, and it wasn't). My husband had eggs Benedict- his staple-he said they were the best he had ever had."
