Larks - Home Kitchen Cuisine at The Ashland Springs HotelPersonable staff and excellent foodStaff from hostess to server to bartender make you feel welcome and comfortable in this high-end restaurant. We had brunch, lunch, and dinner in May. Brunch and lunch a good value with dinner-sized portions. Pan-seared scallops cooked perfectly. Delicious homemade salted caramel ice cream. The sides and sauces made the meals--pork belly hash, blackberry reduction, and a cream of potato and spinach soup that tasted like a liquid spinach souffle.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome!Very much enjoyed the atmosphere and service. Food was very good, and prepared with care.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFondueThe crab/cheese fondue is the very best; and, the bread that they serve with it is almost better! I've always been treated very well and I would highly recommend the restaurant for dinner before and after the OSF.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an outstanding dinnerWe had an outstanding dinner at Larks. Unpretentious. An very fine experience.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPerefect pre-Theatre diningLess than two blocks from the OSF Festival, Larks menu has a wide variety tasty entrees, with elegant presentations, offered in a timely manner by an attentive wait-staff, all designed to get you to the theatre well before the opening curtain.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm picky; I'm happy with Lark'sAlways have pleasant servers, very good food, and usually a quiet environment that enables conversation at normal decibel levels. I'm a health-conscious person who cooks most things from scratch, so I don't frequent restaurants with mediocre chefs. I'd rather fix my own meals! Larks is also a fine venue for meeting a friend for lunch or for having a group. I've done both.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a fun experience toIt was a fun experience to be sure and the food was excellent and service just fine.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLarks has always been a bigLarks has always been a big part of our annual/semi annual Ashland Shakespearian experience. The fresh cod was absolutely wonderful.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLarks is a lovely place forLarks is a lovely place for brunch. Our waiter was so attentive, not too removed or too pushy. His energy was just right. I so appreciated how he was. The food is very good and somehow the menu was ordinary, not outstanding. I missed the experience of having many things on the menu that drew me in...there were only a couple. The only real downside is that a couple were playing music in the corner on some device and no one asked them to turn it down. I eventually did. I wish the staff had noticed. This is the first time I was there for brunch and I would go back. And, I wish the food were turned up a notch.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMNice atmosphere, good food,Nice atmosphere, good food, overall a nice place to take guests in Ashland.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat before OSFA mainstay of Ashland and always great local ingredients.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful as alwaysDelightful fresh local food each dish perfectly prepared. Fish is done but not dry, signature pork chop is enough for 2 great meals
Lusious dessersts as well good use of fruit and rich but not too rich choclate.
Good diverse wine list and knowlegable staff.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFine dining at home in AshlandMy girlfriend's birthday presented the first opportunity for me to make a dining reservation via my IPad. I found it very easy and super convenient. The web site is very well done. Our table was ready on time and the staff took care of us immediately. We found the food to be generally quite good, even excellent. The cod special for the day was very tasty but it just felt like something else could have " sparked" it to exceptional. My pork chop was huge with first class presentation. The crust and the fond glaze were all you could for. A great meal with friends at a local gem!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWaiters were extremely knowledgeablWaiters were extremely knowledgeable and efficient. Food was fresh and tasty. Excellent experience prior to an afternoon in the Bowmer Theatre. Thank you!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the best dinner inWe had the best dinner in a very long time. Our waitstaff was very knowledgeable about the food and wine pairings and made a more than satisfactory recommendation. Our only less than satisfactory dish was the bartlett pear salad. It was a bit bland. The rest of our dinner was outstanding.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA must for us each time weA must for us each time we come to Ashland. Always something unique & tasty on the menu.
