  • "David always takes such great care of us as does the rest of the crew(Joseph and Noi). Incredible place with great service and food. The setting and decor is beautiful and the scene is awesome. We are officially regulars now!"

  • "The service and food was amazing. One of the best restaurants we have been to in a long time. Thank you for a great evening, our waitress was excellent, attentive and new the menu."

  • "This is the second time I have eaten at Koi while in LA. The food is outstanding! The sushi and rolls were all excellent. The service was attentive without being overbearing. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great suggestions. I love this restaurant because they are not snobby and treat you like a valued customer."

  • "I had a great dining experience at Koi. I came with a friend for dinner, and it was our first time here. the staff was pleasant and very helpful, both when we were deciding what to order and later when we needed help finding a good club/bar to go to after dinner. We had the crispy rice, which was just amazing. For our main course we had the black cod and a sushi roll (can't remember which one though). Everything was delicious and the coctails very tasty. I would definitely come back here!"

  • "The food is great. The "she's so LA" roll is so good. The lamb is also really good, and the ceviche.... The service is ok but not as attentive as in many other places. Maybe not quite as hot as it used to be but the food is still faboulous."

  • "Koi is the original LA sushi hotspot. Ten years ago, every star in LA rolled through. Today, not so much, but not because the place changed, the scene just changed. Koi is still as solid as it ever was. They started the "crispy rice" craze that has been duplicated a 100 over in LA. But to this day, nobody does it better. Same story with the baked crab hand roll. The waiters are still crazy attentive and all of the details remain on point. Yes, a few may do it at little cheaper and younger but it's gonna be louder and the details will be missed. Still a solid LA mainstay. Go. Just don't expect to see Paris Hilton. To me, that's a plus."

  • "Koi is a perfect for a special occasion. It is a bit pricey and on the trendy side so I can't imagine everyone but the extremely rich and famous will eat there frequently. We enjoyed our dinner. The food was perfect in portion, taste and quality. I liked the music playlist, got a lot of ideas to add to mine through using Shazam. My only complaint is how dark it is inside the restaurant. Makes me look too old when I must pull out my cell phone flashlight to read the menu."

  • "Everything is delicious here. I really enjoyed dinner and look forward to coming back. The special hand rolls were outstanding. Attentive and informed service. We went on a Sunday night and it was not too crowded."

  • "The service was excellent. The food was excellent. You can't ask for much more!"

  • "The ambiance was great. It was the perfect setting for a romantic date or dinner and drinks with a group of friends. The staff was friendly and attentive (the waitress and the food servers). The service was prompt. We went for the DineLa menu and each course of our three course meal was delivered right on time, shortly after finishing the previous course. The food was amazing, from the appetizers right down to the dessert. As this was my first time visiting the restaurant, I was extremely pleased with my experience and will definitely return in the future. I highly recommend dining at Koi."

  • "The pastry chef did the best job that night. Everything else was not so great. Prawn dish tasted like I was eating tires.... it was over cooked. The appetizers were not good either, the crispy rice tasted cold with oil soaked it the center as if it was waiting for us for awhile."

  • "Koi is a place where you can order anything and everything on the menu and you would be amazed by how good it is! I have tried everything and every time I visit I order too much because I do not want to miss anything. The bar tender can also surprise you with new cocktails if you ask for something special. My experience at Koi is always perfect!"

  • "We LOVE Koi. The sushi is amazing, the service is always good. Try the baked crap hand roll and the "She's so LA" roll. The rock shrimp tempera is always perfect. They don't over do it on the sauce or the frying so it's perfect. Our ONLY complaint is that they allow smoking in the courtyard in the front of the restaurant and it's really gross to have to walk through that and then the second hand smoke filters into the bar area which is equally or maybe more gross. This is why I did not give them a 5 star rating on ambience, otherwise...everything is great."

  • "we had an excellent server - Britta - who helped us choose gems like Golden Yellowtail and kobe on rice. very relaxing. a great place with top notch sushi!"

  • "My second time visiting Koi and it was even better than the first. This ranks with the best sushi I have had in NYC, SF, and Japan. Simply fabulous and priced reasonably for the outstanding quality."
    Dined on 6/6/2014
  • "so great. we sat in the lounge for happy hour 1st which was very reasonably priced. spicy tuna on crispy rice and kobe pot stickers were both fantastic. so was the sake infused melon concoction. we then went into the dinner area and had some sushi. i forget what it was but yumm!!!"

  • "Outstanding as always. Food is spectacular. The ambience is great and the service impeccable. What more do you want?"

  • "Always a positive experience, great food (the crispy rice is amazing), great atmosphere and a nice evening out with friends. The staff and service are impeccable. They're quick to keep things moving and assist as needed. Between NYC and LA, this is by far, consistently the best Koi experience."

  • "Superb food that's great quality but not crazy exorbitant (and LA restaurants can be!). A bit too dark perhaps but otherwise great"

  • "Loved the food, the set up, and the service. Was not happy with the reservations though. While making reservations for a celebratory dinner, I was given 2 options, 6 PM and 9:15 PM. I wasn't thrilled, but what could I do? I chose the 6 PM. I arrived at the restaurant promptly at 6, doors locked, no other customers waiting. Finally the doors opened, 10 minutes later, we're the first ones in, did have amazing service and food, truly fantastic food, and by the time we left, at 8 PM, the restaurant was still at least half empty. Explain to me why my choices for reservation time was either 6PM or 9PM. Absolutely ridiculous and unfair. "

  • "Overpriced and boring! This place was dead and the food was just okay. The sushi was average and I felt that Koi is on the way out. It is a good place if you have no reservations and everything else is booked!"
    Dined on 5/7/2014
  • "I've been going to Koi for years and took a friend for her first time to celebrate her birthday. The food was still excellent but the service was lackluster. Servers other than our waiter simply dropped food at our table and left and our waiter never showed up to explain what we were eating. This would have helped as we ordered a number of items and weren't really sure exactly which dish we were eating. Not a big deal and I'd go back, but the place has unfortunately lost it's lustre a little. It seems I'm not the only one to notice this slide, as not only was it not packed, but it wasn't even that busy. "

  • "While others have noted that this is not the best sushi and Japanese in L.A., it is a great night out with warm service, very good food, and a nice buzz in the restaurant throughout the meal. We sat at the sushi bar and the maitre d', the server and the sushi chef were all very friendly throughout the meal. The pacing of the dishes was perfect, without either waiting too long or being rushed at any point. An all-around enjoyable evening."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "I just didn't like the fact that they made us wait 50 min at the bar to spend $85 on just drinks. The sushi was fresh and tasty but the wait really killed it - 50 min, are you kidding me?"
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "If your looking for a great sushi house with out of this world service this is the place to be."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "The food is OK, nothing special about it. There are few dishes that are very good, the rest are just OK. The ambiance is good. I have been there few times, service it hit or miss. The last experience wasn't that great. Our server was not friendly at all."
    Dined on 3/28/2014
  • "Everything about our recent dinner at Koi was embarrassingly bad. And might I add overpriced. For a $300 dinner I would expect at least to be full- we ate somewhere else after. The server was constantly confused when we asked where certain dishes were that never arrived, he kept running back and forth to the kitchen to figure it out. The food was flavorless and over priced. The menu is exactly the same as far as specialty dishes as Katsuya or Sushi Roku and the sushi is WAY better at Izakaya and a 1/3 of the price. Shame, Koi used to be so good. But we will not be returning."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "We were there for our friends birthday and had good service when it came to the food and drinks. After we were getting ready to leave, the manager accused one of our guests of throwing a rock through the window. After looking at security footage, it was no one in our party. I just think they handled the situation poorly."
