Jax Fish House - DenverMmm hmm! This was one of those magical nights where everything fell into place. Jax added to the magic with wonderful service, delicious food, and a fun atmosphere!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was great but theEverything was great but the portions ate small for the price.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Experience! My fiancé and I spent a weekend in Denver recently, and decided to try Jax for dinner on Saturday night. We started with a pair of house oysters which were fresh, briny, and delicious. Then a crab cake, which was superb. The crab was allowed to shine, and it did. Our third course was a salad with a 6 minute egg and a housemade vinaigrette. The greens were fresh and of high quality. The egg was perfectly cooked, and added a richness to the salad that balanced well with the acid of the dressing. For the main courses, I had the cobia and my fiancé the blue marlin. Both were perfectly cooked, had nice accompaniments, and were expertly seasoned. Service was top notch as well. We will be back next time we're in town!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Happy HourWe popped in for Happy Hour and nearly everything was perfect. Jose was the perfect server in his knowledge, attitude, and efficiency. Our oysters and other starters were very tasty. Try Imogene's Bread as it's warm and slightly sweet and served with creamy butter... We both highly enjoyed our entrees (Grouper Cheeks and Grilled Cobia), but I thought the cheeks were a tad on the dry side. The vegetables that the fishes were laid upon also seemed a bit too greasy and not as refined as I expected. The grilled broccoli was different and I loved it. Drinks were fabulous (Jax Strawberry Lemonade and Ginger Beer)! Overall recommended!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMrecommend!great, the food was wonderful and the staff was attentive. great date night selection.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome happy hourThe happy hour menu is fantastic and extremely affordable. $1.25 oysters + a lot more. Always fantastic service.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMDowntown Denver seafoodThe oysters were great and so was the crab a little pricey but well worth it. The gumbo was the best I have ever had.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI hadn't been here in a yearI hadn't been here in a year or so and found the food to be better than ever.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server was very on pointOur server was very on point & had great recommendations. A little loud, but we didn't mind. The cocktails were perfect, the food perfect as well.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe oysters were amazing. The oysters were amazing. Try the blue crabcakes - melt in your mouth. It was very busy, but the wait staff was attentive and on top of things. Highly recommended - make reservations.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBusy Bar Scene; Great Service/FoodGreat experience overall. If you are there around 7-8pm on a weekend, be prepared for a very crowded bar scene. The place is small so it's hard to walk or stand anywhere and tough to get service at the bar. Once you are seated the service is amazing and the food is outstanding. They also have a raw bar with a great selection.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMTHE Denver seafood placeThe best place in Denver for fish, lots of flavor and features. If you want light and fresh, bold, or maybe even comforting; Jax offers it all. A great place for Happy Hour, with some good small plates, cocktails and always a great beer selection. The new lunch menu is great, I have waited for Jax to feature lunch for a long time. The new renovations add a lot of bar seats, but I kind of miss the warm brick that was covered up. Regardless, it is normally a great experience and meal.3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMJax Rocks!Have had lunch at Jax twice in the last month. Great experience. The menu is a bit limited but not tough to find something that works. The wine list, especially the cellar list, is great. Be sure to try the Duncan and Sachs house cab. Excellent! The service is very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.2/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
