  • "Just decided to try Humboldt Farm Fish Wine on a lazy Sunday night. I'm so glad we did! Everything was outstanding. Highlights were the bread pudding for dessert (best bread pudding I've ever had - perfect texture and enough "mode" on top), and the crispy broccoli, which is the only item I saw on the menu described as a house favorite - and it deserves that designation. Who knew veggies could be so good? My only complaint is that the raw oysters on the half shell seemed to be a little too pricey at $3.25 - $3.75 each, but they were very good. The wine pairings that went with the oysters were great as well."

  • "We had a great happy hour and dinner here. Our server, Bryan, was helpful and attentive. He suggested some excellent dishes. We took full advantage of the happy hour food specials and passed around several small plates between 4 ladies. You can't go wrong with the Buck a Shuck oysters. The wedge salad was also great. Love this place."

  • "I did not care much for this restaurant. I thought the food was just okay. The specialty Trout dip for me was unacceptable too much onion not enough trout. But they did refund that purchase. They were nice enough to split the Sockeye but they served it in a bowl. Very strange. I doubt I will go back which was disappointing because it is walking distance to my house. Actually I might go back if I was just going to have a drink."

  • "The crispy broccoli was a perfect starter to our perfect dinner. I ordered the albacore tuna plate, it was the best meal I've had in a very long time. Good blend of savory with the crispy vegetables and seared meat. Yum! I enjoyed a wonderfully made Old Fashioned and a nice, crisp pinot grigio. Nice priced wine list, too. It was loud in there though and we were seated a good twenty minutes after our reservation time. The attentive staff and good food made up for it."

The broccoli starter would have been so much better with the mayo on the side rather than dumped on top. The golden beets were well cooked but could have used a little herb seasoning as they were a little one note. The steak was well prepared. Service was new and trying but still learning. Great location and you will need a reservation."

  • "We dined here for the first time on Saturday, we felt the food was overpriced and the quality was just OK. As it turns out the hamburger was rated the best between the four of us, the filet ($33) was OK, the pasta dish was not so good (pasta overcooked and not much ham) and the crispy fish had very little fish, after all the crispiness was removed. THe dessert, however, was FABULOUS, chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream, yum!! We may give it another try in a month or so - did we just have a bad night??"

  • "Our party of four for lunch was disappointed. Each of our respective entrees were tasteless - completely under seasoned and dry. The grilled chicken salad special, the chicken sandwich, the reuben, and the hamburger were bland and completely uninspired though the French Onion soup was okay. The desserts - key lime pie and strawberry shortcake were TERRIBLE. The setting was nice and the service was attentive but we would never go back. Especially for dropping close to $100 bucks (no alcohol). If you don't want to consider HFFW a rip-off then consider them still struggling to make it. We were very disappointed."

Wonderful space with a very pleasant ambience; patio was full but there's a back room with so many skylights it practically seems outdoors. Service was solid as well - only negative was a couple of fish options were out of stock. Overall, can't wait to go back!"

  • "In a nutshell- poor service from our casual/lazy waitress. Not very informative or knowledgeable. No effort to sell another glass of wine, dessert, coffee etc... Overcooked albacore- which ended up being flavorless and tough. Such a shame. Had to ask the wonderful busboy for some sauce... Just okay steak- delicious frites. For the amount we spent- we left wanting more, felt we overspent for the quality of service we received and decided we would not return. The aim at California cool ambience is missing the mark in warmth... We left and went to Beast and Bottle for another drink since we weren't really ready to be done... I have also had brunch at Humboldt and was happy- although not many meatless (vegetarian) brunch options."
