  • "Great place for a splurge for brunch. Delicious food with a lot of variety. Live music, so you get a great musical experience for the price of brunch! Kids that can sit still will love it - mine do! The chocolate fountain is a hit with the kids."

  • "Very tasty and varied brunch selection. Impressive seafood bar. Service is first-rate. Ambiance is good, but live music called for just a piano versus a live trio--noise-wise. A wonderful place for that special brunch, but you'll pay for it."

  • "The food, presentation and selection were all outstanding! I left super full and quite content."

  • "My husband & I were not impressed with the three-ingredient omelette and the basic Belgian waffle, which we ordered respectively. Realizing that we were paying for the ambiance of dining in a historic hotel restaurant, the quantity and quality of food wasn't what we expected for the price. The omelette was small in size, and the waffle was overcooked and tasted burnt. The fruit garnish didn't appear fresh; it hadn't been refrigerated in some time as it was warm to taste, and the leafy top on the pale red strawberry was dry and withered. The best part of the meal was the chef's complimentary fruit smoothie in a shot glass and the attentive waiter."

  • "I LOVE the Brown Palace Sunday Brunch at Ellyngton's. The food is top notch and there is plenty of it. The service is attentive without being overbearing. The live music is entertaining. And the desserts - oh my!!! I would highly recommend that you experience this brunch at least once in your life."

  • "This is a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion or just enjoy an extensive choice of breakfast items for brunch! The brunch buffet spread is exceptional and food prepared absolutely delicious! Save room for the amazing desserts too!"

  • "The ambiance and music was wonderful. Very comfortable and private even in the midst of a crowd. The food was average. For the price and the uniqueness of the hotel, it was surprising that the food was unimaginative, usual and what is found at any hotel brunch. The most concerning was the waiter. He was not attentive to our table. We asked him multiple times to bring coffee and bring it often. He managed to bring two cups of coffee over a two hour period. We were left to frequently trying to flag him down. Really unacceptable for the service your hotel boasts. We would not choose this brunch in the future, I'm so very sorry to say."

  • "Imagine going to heaven for a couple of hours with friends and/or family and angels wait on you and make you feel like there is no one more important at the moment than you and your party. Now imagine that the most sumptuous bounty is in front of you for the tasting. That's Sunday brunch at Ellyngton's at the Brown Palace. Anthony, our waiter, gave us sound advice upfront: Take your time; scope out the offerings and choose small portions and return for more. That way, you won't miss anything because you are too full. A word to the wise: Spring for the Moët and Chandon. Live music is such a classy touch."

  • "Everything was great. Todd was our server and it started out great then the more tables he got the less service we got. I had to ask several times for coffee, drinks and a straw. He seemed very put out. Other than that it was an awesome experience. I will be back and enjoy another brunch. The food was outstanding and every other person who was tending our table was great. Thank you"

  • "We had breakfast at Ellyington's yesterday morning as part of a package deal at the Brown Palace. The food was terrific. Not exotic, but the basics were done very well. The french toast, topped with raisins and brown sugar, was the best I have had. We both really enjoyed the coffee, OJ and eggs. The room is spacious, and even when full did not get loud. It was a great place to have a conversation and not have to fight the din of other diners."

  • "I cannot describe how utterly disappointed we were with this restaurant. The food was dire to say the least. I would nether go back or suggest anyone else try it. I know restaurants have off days and usually would give a place a second try but not this time. There was something wrong with everything we ate, mainly the sheer lack of flavor."

  • "I think the brunch and the service was very nice, but it was way overpriced $70 a head is just too much. Great experience but we will never do it again."

  • "We were unable to make our reservations for when the main Sunday brunch would be, so we hoped we would not be disappointed with the 'normal' brunch. Our waitress, Su, let us know that we could still have the eggs benedict with our brunch instead of the omelet station. The benedict here is incredible and that is what we really wanted. We may have missed the champagne, but we had a very pleasant breakfast with an exceptional coffee."

  • "We had out-of-town guests visiting so we decided to give the brunch at The Brown Palace another chance. This time, we were pleasantly surprised by the attentive server, professional host and delicious food. The brunch buffet offers a broad array of salads, charcuterie, savory lunch entrees like roast beef, pork and mahi-mahi, breads, sweet muffins/pastries, fruits, chilled seafood, and typical breakfast offerings of waffles, blintzes, eggs, french toast and meats. They also do made-to-order omelettes and eggs benedict that were among the best we've had (order from server). The dessert bar is nicely varied and all seems to be house-made from scratch. The jazz trio provided nice atmosphere to round out this classic brunch experience."

  • "So much food I couldn't even taste it all. But what I had was the best quality - something for every one's taste. Of course, my grand-daughter was most impressed with the desserts."

  • "loud. We were seated by the musicians, should have toned it down. Hard to carry on a conversation."

  • "After being seated and a short wait, our waiter said that someone would be around with coffee, juice and water. After 15 minutes, we were offered coffee, juice and water, but there was not enough water to serve us all, so the gentleman said he would return which he never did, until it was pointed out to our waiter that we were still waiting for water. After a considerable wait our order was finally taken. It was an unreasonable amount of time before our entrees were served. One entree had to be returned because the eggs which had been ordered 'over easy" were well done, the two sausage patties were way overdone and the hash browns were underdone. This entree was returned and the the new entree was prepared as requested."

  • "The website had turkey on the Christmas brunch menu so we were looking forward to the turkey included in our brunch buffet. The server said that your website was not updated so the brunch menu had the wrong information on it. He said that they had lamb instead which would be more of an Easter item. Crab would be a good seafood item but you cut it out last year and that was one of our favorites. We have been to several other brunches in the Colorado area that has included crab on the buffet or at least crab claws. We don't mind paying excessive prices if the brunch has the items that we enjoy. My husband & I are the only relatives that we have & that is why we like to treat each other with a special brunch."

  • "Hello, the dinning experience was great except for the table placement. Our table was at the end of the buffet. It looked as if the table was stuck there last minute to accommodate the Christmas crowd. I should have asked for a different table but did not so I take part of the responsibility. However, that table should not have been placed where it was. At one point we had people scan our table like it was a continuation of the buffet. Please let me say the service was fantastic and the food was good, so we really enjoyed the brunch."

  • "We came to Ellyngton's as middle-age newlyweds and the experience was exceptional. They honored my reservation request for a quiet table away from the center of the room, and they had reserved a remarkable spot on the perimeter in the sunshine. Perfect for a Winter day. From our waitress to the host and manager, each welcomed us, and greeted us with well wishes for our marriage. As a husband, who had made the reservations for a surprise, special lunch date with my new wife, I couldn't have asked for anything more. We will make it an annual event! (at a minimum!)"

  • "Notice to diners - Althought the Sunday brunch starts at 7 the actual Sunday brunch you want to eat does not start until 10 am. We mistakenly made reservations for 9 not knowing there were two different brunches offered (the 7 - 10 the brunch looks like what you normally get at a hotel concierge lounge while the 10 am brunch is much more luxe). We stood in line for the brunch at 9 am for 15 minutes without making it to the actual food. We then gave up and sat down to order from the menu. The pancakes were good. My husband felt his biscuit and gravy was average. The entire experience was pretty lackluster."

  • "I love the Brown Palace, I really do. Especially at the holiday season, the decorations are wonderful and the place takes on a magical air with live music in the restaurant and lobby. The food at Ellyngton's ranges from good to great (especially the made-to-order eggs and the wonderful waffles), and it had better, given the price tag. We make it part of our Christmas season every year as a special treat, and this is where I have a bone to pick: I'm from Denver, I get that we're all "casual and stuff" here in Colorado. However, there is a time and a place. If I'm going to pay upwards of $50 a person for brunch, I don't want to see some uber-mom in yoga pants or teenager in ripped jeans in front of me at the carving station."

  • "My friend and I have been going to The Brown Palace for several years to celebrate the Chrstmas holidays. The decorations within the restaurant and in the hotel lobby are beautiful. Our meals were quite good, however after serving the food our waiter disappeared which was frustrating as we wanted drink refills. He did comp us a dessert which was appropriate and we will return next year."

  • "Some friends and I decided to try out Ellyngton's for their Sunday Brunch because we had heard it was a very nice place to eat brunch. We really enjoyed the time we spend there. There was music playing while we were seated and told about the various delights at the brunch buffet. From there, it was just wonderful. We sat for several hours, conversed, ate and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I recommend this fun adventure to anyone looking for a nice place to eat with excellent service. Brown Palace really knows how to do this right! We'll be back for the Valentine's / chocolate season."

  • "We were staying at the hotel and simply wanted a lighter breakfast, not the full-blown and expensive Champagne brunch - which would have been even more expensive than usual because it was Halloween. We chose to have breakfast earlier in the morning, when a more limited brunch buffet was available. The earlier buffet (9 am) was awkward - they were setting up for the full brunch and it was not clear what was available to us and what was off limits. Plus there were pretty long lines at times for the eggs/omelet station, which blocked access to other parts of the buffet. They also seemed to have trouble keeping the food replenished. It was not terrible, just meh, and next time we would go somewhere else."

  • "I had heard amazing things about the Brunch at the Brown Palace and Michael, our server, and the rest of the staff did not disappoint. Each time I returned to the table, my napkin was re-folded, I had fresh silverware, and a topped off glass of champagne: it was as if I'd never been there! The live jazz music was just wonderful, and they even sang me "Happy Birthday". We left with full bellies, huge smiles, yellow roses and the best memories...it was the best service we've ever had in a fine dining restaurant and we all made promises to do this again next year! Thank you for helping to make my birthday such a success."
