We are locals and make the restaurant rounds. The updated menu is really fab. Many great choices. We had the yellow tomato gazpacho and butter lettuce salad. They were both superb. It's hard to explain why this salad was so much better than almost any other salad I have had in a very, very long time. Trust me, it was superb. Then my dining partner had the elk and I had the mussel posse. His was perfectly cooked and he loved the accompanying sauce. The posole was full of plump mussels, and had a smokey broth with bits of chorizo. We opted out of having dessert. Amanda, our server, was absolutely terrific, and the manager kept a close eye on the dining floor. In short, it was such a delicious, good experience that we have switched our reservation next week for out of town guests from a Canyon Road favorite haunt to Coyote Cafe because it was just such a great experience.

The Samurai cocktail was a very refreshing. The Futomaki Caesar was a very interesting upgrade to the standard Caesar Salad; I really enjoyed it. My wife liked the Yellow Tomato Gazpacho. The Chilean Sea bass was slightly crispy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside. The tamarind black rice it was served on was a perfect complement to the entree. We shared a very creative pineapple upside down dessert. Amanda, our wait person, was fantastic.

Coyote Cafe remains an exceptional locale after being a pioneer so many years ago. Dishes were consistently creative, delicious, and beautifully presented. Drinks were also unique and tasty and there are some excellent wine options. Our server offered some great recommendations as well. Even dessert was inspired.

In addition to the food being outstanding, they apparently knew it was my birthday from OpenTable. They went out of their way to make the evening special. As I said, the food was great and the service was outstanding. I look forward to eating there again the next time I am in Santa Fe!

Our waiter was amazing. The place was super busy, but our waiter did not miss a beat. He somehow kept up and was attentive to every table. The food was amazing!

We've been eating here for our birthday and anniversary celebrations for the past several years. We were seated precisely at our reservation time in a location that complied with our request. The food, as always, was innovative, artfully presented, and delicious! (We did have to request one correction from the kitchen, which was quickly accomplished.) Wait staff is very professional and knowledgable--although perhaps management has changed this past year, not sure? Yes, as everywhere in Santa Fe, it's rather overpriced because one is paying for Coyote's top tier reputation for the reserved dining room. But you won't regret an evening here!
