Diner Reviews
  • "first suggestion would be get a reservation. If not, you will be waiting, however, you can enjoy a wine tasting for about $7 per person unless you are a wine club member (which I am) and it's free. I have never had a bad meal here and we try to go at least once a month. Great happy hour appetizers but I think it ends at 6pm so unless you get out of work by 4:30-5:00 (I get out later) you'll be pressing to make it. I suggest the wine club for those "winos" like me. It's their own wine, but it's quite good and worth it to me."

  • "Visiting family in Tampa, we chose a place that was new to us. The online food and wine menu attracted us and, as we were picking up more family at the airport, the location was perfect. We enjoyed happy hour wines and a variety of appetizers. Food and service were excellent as was the Lux Cab and Chard. We will most definitely return soon."

  • "This place is the only real winery in the Tampa bay area. The tasting room is a lot of fun and they have some great deals for Happy Hour."

  • "I wasn't expecting much from Cooper's Hawk. It overlooks a parking lot on one side and International Plaza on the other. The inside is dark, contemporary and a perfect place for an office lunch. But the food was surprisingly delicious! Even for a vegetarian like me, the Mediterranean salad, veggie flatbread and warm pretzel bread to start was phenomenal. The crabcakes and grouper won rave reviews at my table as well. Wine is okay...they'll let you taste first. Which is good because their barrel reserve tasted like a rusty pipe. Service was great as well."

  • "My wife and I went there over the Fourth of July weekend, and we just loved the ambiance, the food quality, and the service. We wold highly recommend it."

  • "We enjoyed our first time to Cooper's Hawk! We were celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary. Food was excellent. Would have preferred more time (like 15 minutes or so) between appetizers and main course. The two were too close together not giving enough time for us to enjoy the meal more. Had to bring some home. Dessert/coffee was good as well. Our server Frederico was very good and knowledgeable."

  • "We love Cooper's Hawk mainly for the delicious food. The menu is so varied in terms of pricing too. You can order anything from a filet steak to a hamburger. This makes it great for any type of meal: special occasion, casual inexpensive dinner or just for wine! :)"

  • "The service was friendly but very slow. Some of our entrees were a bit cold. Noise level was very loud and it was hard to have a conversation. Really enjoyed the Thai lettuce wraps."

  • "Consistently good service at the wine tasting and dinner."

  • "I always enjoy myself here. I actually went twice in one weekend with separate groups of friends and it was still phenomenal."

  • "Food was average, nothing spectacular. Service was very slow and disappointing but at least the manager comped us a bottle of wine for waiting almost an hour for our food. Ambience is nice. Slightly overpriced as well for the quality of the food."

  • "Wish happy hour was til 7... :) Overall the food is always good, wines are great as well. I like the Unoaked Chardonnay & the sparkling wine flight!"

  • "We love this place! Our whole office goes here regularly for happy hour, and it has quickly become a great place for us to take our clients. The prices are reasonable, and the food is excellent! Also, it is almost always packed in there, so they are definitely doing something right!"

  • "All things wine is the focus. Food could be better. Twice have had chicken dishes that were over cooked. Service has been excellent on this and all previous visits. A fun place for a group to gather and enjoy wine."

  • "I love the food here i got the currasco steak and my husband had the grouper. Both were outstanding. We have the drunken shrimp as an appetizer and it was dissappointing. 5 small shrimp with raw bacon for $12. The worst part of our experience was the noise level. We had a table next to us of clearly intoxicated women. They were screaming at the top of thier lungs and one kept exposing herself. THe staff did nothing and another table actually had to get up and tell them to be quiet and cover themselves up. It kind of ruined out night."

  • "First thing you may notice is that there is not one familiar wine on their list. And after tasting their finest red, @ $35 a bottle, it drinks like a $9 bottle of wine. But the bar is good and they have liquor. Many of the food descriptions are misleading. Gnocchi dishes use a larger pasta unfamiliar to me, certainly not the Italian style made from Potato dough. Caesar salad had way too much garlic, burned the roof of my mouth! Two of the four of us had mediocre meals, and two had dishes to their liking. Service is a bit slow, took over 40 minutes to get the main course AFTER our apps dishes were removed! The place was very busy, perhaps not slammed, but busy, and it appeared that the kitchen just couldn't keep up with the pace."

  • "I took my fiancee for her birthday, she loved it! The environment was nice and the service was great! The server was very knowledgeable of the menu, wines, and history of Cooper's Hawk Winery. I got Anne's Chicken Saltimbocca which was amazing and she created her own Surf & Turf, Crab Cakes and Parmesan-Crusted Filet Medallions. Overall the experience and wines were so great I decided to become a Wine Club Member! #MembersOnly"

  • "Try the Jambalaya. I got the risotto with short ribs and kept eating off my boyfriends plate, lol. The pretzel bread that they serve is delicious along with the potstickers appetizer with the ginger sauce. I enjoyed dining her prices per entree weren't too bad either for the ambiance and food quality (they ranged from $18 - $34)."

  • "After me and my friend's wine tasting we only had half an hour before we had to go, we told this to our waiter and he was so quick and helpful we left in plenty of time to get to our event. The prime rib sandwich is to die for. And we always get the cheese tasting."

  • "The food was amazing, especially the filet medallions. The server was awesome and a server we had previously a month before remembered us and stopped by to ask how we were. Very friendly staff. Kids menu also has some great options you dont normally find."

  • "We visited Cooper's Hawk as a surprise for my husband for Father's Day. Our daughter had been there but we had not. It was a pleasant surprise! The wine list was extensive, though some of the wines might have been a bit young, the menu selection had many choices but it was not overwhelming, and our service was excellent. We are going to take some friends there when they come to visit us in the future. Plus, I thought for the amount of people in the restaurant the noise level was not too bad. The acoustics seem to be good in there."

  • "I took my husband here for Father's Day. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. After 10 minutes, a waiter asked if anyone had waited on us yet. We said no so he took our drink orders and said he would find our waiter. He came back with our drinks and said he would serve us. Service was good after that. The whole place was very noisy and we could barely hear each other so conversation was difficult. Light glared through windows on both sides of the dining rooms. One view was of the parking lot. We each had a seafood entrée and both the fish and scallops were overdone and under seasoned. The rice and potato sides were very good. The chocolate cake for dessert was good but nothing special. Can't think of a reason to return."

  • "We had a good time at Cooper's Hawk. We had the drunken shrimp appetizer, and it was excellent. Our server, Chris was very attentive and helpful with suggestions on the menu. I had the crab cakes, and my husband had the skirt steak. Both were very good. I did think the atmosphere was very noisy, but it didn't affect our enjoyment of the meal."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "They make their own wine, which is reasonably priced and enjoyable. The cheese pairing was delicious. The entree was pleasant, but didn't knock my socks off. Good vibe though and not too noisy!"

  • "My friend and her son and mother came to Coopers Hawk for nice Graduation dinner. It was very nice place you can dress up or semi casual. We had couple bottles of wine. I like Coopers Hawk Red goes great with filet mignon. Mother had big scallops which she was gaga over. Bacon wrapped shrimp were yummy. Our waiter was good but place does get busy on Wednesday night. Over all this place is great to impress anyone from food choices to wine. "

  • "I have been to Cooper's Hawk before and have enjoyed the whole experience - food, wine, and service. However, this time, everything was extremely slow. It was a Sunday night and the place was not full, so I don't understand why. It took at least 15 minutes for our wine to arrive and one hour for our food to arrive. We ordered everything off the menu just as it comes and nothing special about it. Nobody ever came to apologize for how long our food was taking to arrive either. I'm very disappointed and it will be a long time, if ever, that I go back."
