I was a little annoyed as my financee' ordered their best steak not knowing it was 90.00 had she known she might o chose a less expensive one it was ok not worth 90.00 this is not T-Bones steakhouse in Vegas were I paid less and the steak was way better .She spoke to Manager next day as she was very upset and Cory handled it well. I'd go back again but not in near future"

  • "We reserved a table via OpenTable for 14 for my birthday and the experience, our first, could not have gone better! We got our table in the back next to a great window looking out. We had a couple of kids with us and they had a great time as well. Our server Dale was the best, handling our sometimes chaotic group very well and being very attentive to our (many) needs. The appetizers were fantastic - especially the portabello mushrooms with shrimp and cheese. The steaks were perfect, and our ordered doneness was spot-on. Finally the complimentary dessert tray was the coup de grace! Charley's totally lived up to it's reputation - Thank you for a great and memorable night! KM"

  • "This is my second time here. The steak is the main reason why I returned; truly the best. The room temperature was cold however the server was asked to lower the A/C and accommodated us. The rolls are great and asked for an additional order. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."

  • "We ordered a surf and turf to share made up of a center cut loin (most tender cut) and a huge lobster. The cosmos were great and we always enjoy the "Charley Lean". Just one of those has me set for the night. Our server was great. We prefer to pass on the menus and request the server to dish up what he thinks will be perfect for us. He did a wonderful job. Being parents of a 1 year old, we really appreciated the service and beautiful night out."

  • "Was in Tampa for one night on business and wanted to eat fairly close to my hotel. Saw the sign for Charley's and thought why not? Went early on a Sunday and didn't need a reservation as I ate at the bar. The bartenders (Nick and Lauren) were very friendly and attentive. Recommended some good choices and kept the drinks full. My steak was great and melted in my mouth. All in all, would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the Tampa area looking for a nice place for steak or fish."

  • "My husband is a serious red meat person. He said that is steak was quite possibly the best he's ever had. MY steak was so tender, it melted in my mouth. I was also very pleased to have been offered to have my blue cheese stuffed into my steak. How delicious it was!"

  • "Heard so many rave reviews of Charlie's, that I had to make it my first stop in Tampa. started out well with the scallop appetizer which was 3 large scallops wrapped in bacon with a marmalade dipping sauce. To say the steaks were average would be an understatement. Meat tasted as if it had been frozen, and temperature was off. When I go to a good steak house the waiter would ask me and the party to cut I to our steaks and make sure they were cooked properly. The medium rare filet was medium to medium well, and very bland. I actually would have put salt on it had there been some at the table. On a positive note, the lobster Mac and cheese was top notch."

  • "Everything was very good except that I was disappointed in my 12 oz. filet mignon ($42) which had a big chunk of grizzle which was unedible to me and the remaining filet was slightly tough. I was lucky to have gotten 8 oz. of good filet. Not thy type of filet you can cut with a butter knife."

  • "We went to Charley's for my mother's birthday on a Saturday Night. My parents were greeted by the manager at the valet. He took them to the bar and bought them a drink while they waited for us to arrive. That was a very nice touch. The bar was a lively scene. My parents were very impressed with the friendliness and kindness shown to them. They sat us at a lovely table by the window. The food was great! Beef Filets were cooked to perfection and the Creamed Spinach is one of my favorites at Charley's. Dessert came with a lit candle and we were able to wish my mom a quiet happy birthday song! Looking forward to our next celebration at Charley's."

  • "Service was unbelievably slow; both drinks and food. They finally brought our entrees, but had neglected to bring our salads (which are obviously pre-made). When we complained that we had not yet received our salads, they removed the steaks and said that they would prepare fresh ones -- they didn't -- they brought back the same steaks previously served, all were cold and a few overcooked. 2 different mgrs came to our table and apologized; nice, but didn't do much to salvage the evening. All 4 steaks & baked potatoes served cold; one of the vegetables was served hot. They did make a substantial adjustment to the final check, but not enough to encourage a return. Too many other good streak houses in Tampa to risk this again."

  • "Dinner was great, although a little pricey. Even the drinks were on the high side for an upscale restaurant. We had a party of 8, which took weeks to get a reservation for. Waitress was a little harried with the size of our group, and did make a $55 mistake on our bill that was quickly corrected. All of the food was wonderful, with the exception of the lobster bisque, which was watery but extremely flavorful."

The food was good, our server was great but I will probably just go to another steakhouse next time that will not make me wait 35 minutes to be seated."

  • "We had not been here in a number of years and we were reminded why. First, the steaks were not quality and not cooked correctly Their signature 20 oz. filet used to be a longer lean cut. Now it is short and high with marbling...not appropriate for a filet. A second 8 oz. filet ordered medium rare came out medium well. Potatoes au gratin were dry. Their signature sourdough was gone....really a disappointment all the way around which included slow service with free drinks because of it. I would rather pay than get something for free. Too many other choices in the area to pick this one."

  • "THIS PLACE WAS SO PRICEY NOT MUCH ON THE MENU, THE LOBSTER WAS SO TOUGH THE ONLY THING GOOD WAS THE BREAD I WAS GOING TO PARTY AFTER AND I WALKED TO THE BATHROOM BY WHERE THEY ARE COOKING AND MY CLOTHES SMELLED LIKE BAR-B-QUE ALL NIGHT, THE BOOTHS ARE SO TIGHT I ASKED FOR A PRIVATE BOOTH THEY GAVE ME A BOOTH IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYONE, WHAT A DISASTER THE ONLY COOL THING ABOUT THIS RESTAURANT IS THE SIGN THAT LIGHTED OUTSIDE THAT SAYS CHARLIES WITH FLAMES UNDER IT.....I SPENT $160.00 WITH FOOD AND TIP AND $10.00 TO THE PARKING GUY $170.00 FOR EVERYTHING FOR ME AND MY HUSBAND ONLY WHAT A RIP OFF!!!! DONT NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE I READ THE BAD REVIEWS AND DID NOT LISTEN TO THEM I SHOULD HAVE!!!!!!!!"

  • "My boyfriend too me to Charley's for my birthday. We ordered the lobster bisque appetizer which was amazing! We also tried the truffled mushroom fondue which had smoked bacon in it and it was to die for as well! The salad was a disappointment as it was just chopped lettuce and tomatoes drenched in some tasteless vinaigrette dressing. I ordered the filet which was so tasteful and tender it practically melted in my mouth. My boyfriend ordered the porterhouse which for a $50 steak tasted well but had so much fat it was hard for him to find me a bite that didn't have mostly fat in it. He regrets not ordering my filet after I gave him a bite of mine. Overall very positive experience but we will both order the filet next time."

  • "Charley's has always been one of my favorite "special" dining places. We were there on a Monday evening to celebrate my son-in-law's birthday and was totally disappointed. The room we were in was extremely loud, to the point you could not carry on a conversation. I ordered the ribeye which was almost completely gristle. I did not send it back because we were so frustrated with the noise level we just wanted to finish and get home. I have always been completely satisfied with Charley's until this past week."

  • "We chose Charley's to celebrate our anniversary. Arrived 45 minutes before reservation. Went to bar to have some drinks before being sat at table. At bar "Fabio look alike" must have been concentrating on his golden locks because he ended up smashing martini glass trying to pour Cosmo for my wife. Chards of glass sprayed onto couple who just received salad & drinks. Fabio did insist they not eat out of safety. Once seated wife noticed smudge on rim martini glass. Looked like last drinkers lip gloss. Manager came and insisted on making it right. He was apologetic & comped a desert for wife. Would give 5 stars but Fabio nixed that. Wait staff & manager were good as it gets & steaks were spot on! Thank god they don't let Fabio near the grill."
