Busy but not over-crowded with a steady stream of customers all night. Food was bursting full of flavor especially the brussel sprouts. The Swedish Fish was the best choice for an appetizer with an outstanding pickled herring. Pork Loin wrapped in bacon was moist and cooked just right. The beef short ribs, the special of the night, was very tender and fell apart with just a fork. Very flavorful and served nice and hot. Portions were on the larger side. Service was very attentive, so if you want a more leisure pace just let the server know. Beignets were hot and delicious. I had the fabulous chick pea veggie burger and my carnivore husband had the beef burger. We were both thorough delighted with the presentation, portion, and taste of everything that we ordered. The apple strudel for dessert was unconventional in its appearance but our palettes were thrilled. Everything about Charcoal exceeded our expectations and they lived up to their billing - at least for lunch - of serving delicious food in generous portions at reasonable prices. Add great service to that and you have a winner - it is Charcoal! Plus the neighborhood is quiet with ample street parking. One of the best salads ever ! The salmon was okay although it could use a little more flavor. Mashed potatos were average. But our pre-theatre dinner was quite good. Salads are fresh and well presented; tuna tartare was delicious; pasta dishes were also excellent.
